Around the Fleet
USS Expedition NCC 76227
The Expedition has entered Norcadian Prime, which is bustling in trade. With 76% of the crew infected, an Away Team of 5 are sent to search for clues to where they can find a fresh sample to create an antigen. They find clues that would lead them into a trap that leaves Commander Lucifel kidnapped, but with Marine Captain Bond on her trail.
USS New York NCC 71868
The New York took a hiatus for Memorial Day.
USS Aryes NCC 81204
The Aryes was sent 70,000 Light Years to the planet Ocampa. Star fleet has received some unusual power reading emanating from a planet that should be dead. Captain Sowren is hoping she will find the Ocampans had survived these many years, and become self sustaining; instead she finds Cloaked Kazon Predator class starships.
101st Marine Pathfinders
The Orions have taken part of STORM, and planned a terrorist attack on San Francisco. Millions infected by this biological nightmare, and San Francisco lays in ruin. The 101st, straight from their mission, are sent in to stabilize the area. The unfortunate assassination of General Moore had left the powers that be little choice but to give Colonel Fox a Field promotion to Brigadier General.
USS Pegasus UFMV 25347
Comparing the Colissians ancient charts to the Pegasus star charts, 2nd Lt Love have found the planet they have been searching for. Yet there is unrest amongst the Colissians. Centuries of distrust of aliens have sent one Colissian transport into taking matters in their own hands.
USS Frontier NCC 11385
The Frontier is on her way again, but now she carries an Ambassador. All is well until a Cardassian cruiser approaches with weapons hot.
Board Sims

We have a new Captain in the United Forces. We welcome Captain Crio Ijoula to the ranks of Naval Captain with all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of that Rank. We know he will continue to serve the United Forces with the same level of excellence he has shown thus far. He continues to serve on the USS Terrasect as Flt Admiral Harsting XO.

We will now have another sim joining our ranks. That sim comes to us from General Alexander Hunter, and will be held on Thursdays. More information will be forth coming very soon.

One of the future projects R&D is working on
By Lt Candela Montag
The members of UF R&D know of the work of designing starships, and like all starships have to be created, they have to be built. Commander Vanessa A Lucifel has been working to do just that.
As we all know, her3D renders have graced this newsletter, post, and her website, but now she’s turning her attention to actual starship construction. Her first project is to build the Vigilant.
The Vigilant Top View.
The Vigilant, a police frigate, is a step between a runabout, and a Defiant class starship. With a maximum capacity of 40, it small size, excellent maneuverability, and powerful weapons, it is designed for policing, and escort duty. Unlike the runabouts, it can reach speeds up to warp 9, and have a maximum range of 300 light years (before refueling).
Progress thus far
This project will take time, as of this time, she has the top forward hull done. With the Vigilant’s completion, she will concentrate on other projects as well. Let’s all give her luck.

Greetings!
The United Forces website will soon be offering some new, exciting features!
We are moving our service to another Web Hosting company. With this move, many new and exciting benefits will be offered to United Forces members.
The first and most foreseeable benefit will be Web mail. Not all the information as of yet has been ironed out, however, plans are that all members will be privied to Free Web mail in the format of your_name@stunitedforces.com.
More advanced support for server-side languages will also make many new features become available on the site that was impossible before.
In other news, we would like to welcome the USS London-B to the fleet. Upon full Command Staff approval, it will be simming on Thursdays at 10pm.
This truly is an exciting time in the United Forces, and I'm glad we have all of you with us to enjoy it.

Interview
By LtCdr Vanessa A Lucifel
Andrus Elbrun could easily get lost in a crowd, but of late he’s been seen a bit more outgoing. Andrus has been in the UF for at least as long as I, and he has risen in rank, and became a valued member of the Pegasus. It was only a matter of time he meanders into my interviewer’s chair.
Cadet V Yates: How long has Andrus been in the UF?
Andrus L Elbrun: I have been in the UF since its beginning..
Cadet V Yates: ::Smiles:: A lifer. I presume always on the Pegasus, or did you branch out?
Andrus L Elbrun: I always have been on the Pegasus before the UF. ::He smiled.::
Cadet V Yates: Really? Is that possible?
Andrus L Elbrun: Yes. USS Pegasus was in another group before it merged with the UF.
Cadet V Yates: Wow, so you’re like a fixture on the Pegasus. Of all the Fighter Pilots, Andrus seems a bit meek, and into his duties, is that by design?
Andrus L Elbrun: Yes, it was by design that I would be a bit shy, meek, and quiet at times. But I do have my buttons like everyone else. Just takes longer for me to get angry.
Cadet V Yates: Now Andrus is also Betazoid. Does this also make up his character in anyway?
Andrus L Elbrun: Yes, I believe that it does a bit. But it was more of how he was treated when he was a child going to school.
Cadet V Yates: What brought on this treatment?
Andrus L Elbrun: It was how quiet I was. Some kids pick on others because they want to feel better about themselves.
Cadet V Yates: It must have been rough, how did you survive all those years?
Andrus L Elbrun: It was at times. The first few years of school, my older sister, Kestra, would protect me some, but later on, there was someone else that also would come to my aid when Kestra wasn't able to. ::He smiled.::
Cadet V Yates: Oh? Anyone I know?
Andrus L Elbrun: Yes, you may know her. Her name is Ariel Wrenn. We have started out as friends, but before we went into the Academy, our feeling for each other was much more.
Cadet V Yates: Really? So I trust this relationship will change him in some way?
Andrus L Elbrun: Yes, it would change him a lot. It would bring me out of this cocoon that I have been in for so long.
Cadet V Yates: Will we see some blood and guts as well in the cockpit?
Andrus L Elbrun: When the time arises itself, there should be. ::He smirked.:: I may be shy, but an enemy may want to think twice playing chicken with me when I'm in the cockpit.
Cadet V Yates: Now you've been on the Pegasus all this time, has their been any character in the UF you truly admirer, other then the Command staff?
Andrus L Elbrun: The only one that I have admirer so happens to be on the Command Staff. It was for the fact that he had saved my life at one point when I was assigned to another ship before being assigned to the Pegasus.
Cadet V Yates: OK, then who is it?
Andrus L Elbrun: Rear Admiral Ken Basal. Before he changed to become Bajoran that he is now, he was of another telepathic species race. The ship that I was on was attacked and we had to use the escape pods, I was with Sisko and another officer.
Andrus L Elbrun: When he rescue us, I was the only one with telepathic abilites and we found out the he was only there to help.
Cadet V Yates: That works out great. So for the final question, a new twist. If you could have ANY star to play your character, who would it be, and why?
Andrus L Elbrun: I don't know. ::He laughs a bit.:: I haven't really given that much thought.
Cadet V Yates: Well it's a new question, I figure I'd give it a try. Been a pleasure Captain.
Andrus L Elbrun: It's been a pleasure to have this interview.
Alien Corner
KAZON
The Kazon were one of the first Delta Quadrant species that Voyager encountered on its arrival in the area. They are a violent race who consider themselves to be great warriors. The Kazon were originally a slave species of the Trabe, but they overthrew their masters in a revolt some time ago. They have a relatively disorganized culture - after overthrowing the Trabe they splintered into several sects who have competed with one another ever since. Some of the sects are extremely weak, lacking the ability to provide even the basics of life properly. Others operate fleets of warships which they 'liberated' from the Trabe; although some of these are large and powerful, the Kazon are not great technicians and their ships tend to be relatively poorly maintained.
Kazon sects which Voyager encountered include the Ogla, Nistrim, Relora, Hobii, Mostral, Oglamar and Prommar. Many of them were bitter enemies of the Federation ship - a result of Janeway's decision to destroy the Caretakers Array in order to deny them access to its technology. Voyager fought several battles with the Kazon, and in 2372 they managed to capture the ship with the help of the Cardassian spy Seska. Fortunately, an alliance of Talaxian ships and several members of Voyagers crew were able to defeat the invaders and recapture the ship.
Shortly after this Voyager passed out of Kazon space. Given the distance the ship has covered since then, it is virtually impossible that the crew will ever encounter this race again.
The Borg designation for the Kazon is Species 329; the Borg considered them unworthy of assimilation.

For the eager-beavers in UF, where trivia is concerned, can you tell me which episodes we see the Enterprise-D initiate the saucer separation maneuver?
<ANSWER>

==============================
This week's trivia question is a TNG question with a DL level of 4.
=/\= The Enterprise-D and her crew became caught in what kind of spatial anomaly in the Typhon Expanse?
For you eager-beavers, what stardate was used in conjunction with that mission, along with the correct TNG episode where these events took place.
** Please note, when I say "for you eager-beavers", this is not to be viewed as a question that everybody is required to answer to get credit in the trivia contest. It is designed to challenge those who are interested in trivia that is more difficult, yet related in some way to the main question for that given week.
==============================
The answer will appear in next week's edition of the UF Weekly newsletter. Good luck to everyone.
As always, please email your answers or guesses to chrisdeel@aol.com Please put either "Trivia", or "Crio's Trivia Corner" in the subject line."
Also, the answers to this week's trivia will appear in next week's edition of the UF Weekly newsletter.
