Ship News
As of 4/9/2006 00:00 hrs EST.
USS Expedition NCC 76227
The Expedition had no transmissions from their current mission.
USS New York NCC 71868
Ri’Pak has been captured, and Lt Montag has been keeping the traitor under guard in the brig. The resistance on the planet got testy, but the combined forces of the New York, and Romulan defense made light work of them. The New York is currently bringing the prisoner in.
USS Aryes NCC 81204
The Aryes is back at DS9 with their alien prisoner to interrogate him. Nether less, LtCdr T’Lar seems to be hiding something, but what.
101st Marine Pathfinders
The 101st successfully ended their mission on the planet surface, and we await their report about who is holding K7 under siege.
USS Pegasus NCC 25347
General Weslynes attempts to play happy hostess to lure the aliens into visiting the Pegasus by inviting them to dinner. The alien commander Perkell is happy to oblige if the Pegasus promises to leave them alone. Nether less they are also running low on supplies.
USS Frontier NCC 11385
The Frontier was sent to patrol the Bajor system. All was clear until a suspicious Ion trail was detected. The pattern was consistent with a search pattern of a scout ship. They followed it to Bajors 4th moon Durna, where they found a suspicious low power reading from the surface.
With no ship, or structure on the surface, this lead to the belief there is an underground hidden facility.
Board Sims
USS Vindicator NCC 16052
The crew of the Vindicator takes in some social activities, as they continue their voyage to starbase 1.
USS Terrasect NCC 70000
The Terrasect continues their ordeal in Nygean Space.
New Recruits
2nd Lt Karin Aidair a female Trill, is on the USS Expedition post unknown
Alexis Hill is a male Romulan/Human on the USS Vindicator posting as Assistant Science Officer

Leatherneck Roll-Call
This is a reminder that the Marine Academy is open and conducting survival training and all marines should register.
Interviews
By Vanessa A Lucifel
I have been a member of the USS Terrasect since she first launched. I find her and her crew one of the most fascinating. One of the standouts is Commander Crio Ijoula. He has held several positions in his time on the Terrasect, but has excelled in all of them.
It was only a matter of time before I get to torture him with my evil interview.
Cadet V Yates: What do you like about the United Forces?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: It offers alot more than most, if not all, of the previous sim groups I've been in.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Quite a few more Sims than I've seen in said previous groups, and even message board Sims
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Not to mention, a fairly easy-to-navigate website
Cadet V Yates: You are now the XO Terrasect, which is a board SIM. Do you prefer the Board over live Sims?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: That's a tough one... Before I'd gotten back with the Terrasect, it was a live sim, which became a board sim. I had only known live Sims throughout my time in simming
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: One of the blessings I've come to learn about when it comes to a board sim, is that if you can't make it to a scheduled live sim, you don't miss out
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: and, you always have the most updated log, when you go to the boards
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: versus, say, having to get someone to send you the log for the sim you missed
Cadet V Yates: I too have been on the Terrasect since Day one, I kind of thought of it as a home. Besides we have some great missions. Did you consider some kind of loyalty in the equation like me?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Oh yeah... I admit, I started out as chief engineer, which I'm trying to remember if that was since day one, too, or what.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Loyalty is good within a group, especially as it keeps everyone going
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Not to mention, it can also be seen by new recruits who... say have only heard about this group
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: but never got to know much about it
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: I mean, if say, we were to tell others we'd been in such-and-such group for a long time that proves loyalty
Cadet V Yates: Let’s talk about your character. He's a Trill, and you play it well. Over time Crio has been in several positions, and has adapted well. Is this part of his symbiont’s experience?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Engineering was definitely part of Ijoula's experience. The symbiont's previous host, Brexen, had been a chief engineer, too.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: I may frequently mention her.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Crio had taken a large amount of tactical training at the Academy.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Security...... let's just say, required some serious adapting
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Getting into the command level, was also an exercise in adapting... Something which all of Ijoula's hosts have learned first-hand
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: including me
Cadet V Yates: Last I checked, you are XO, and acting commander, and I myself am acting XO. Can we expect you will continue your great adaptability?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: I hope so. As the situation stands with the story arc, the last time I checked, I kind of improvised an idea to get us clear from a ship ready to blow up, and to get a transport ship also clear of the blast radius..
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: as for adaptability, I'm very sure it will come out more and more.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Even more so if we encounter the Borg.
Cadet V Yates: Crio has a flair for tactical and combat situations. Yet we have to see the social side of Crio really come out. Will we see some of this eligible bachelor with a special someone in the future?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: I honestly have no idea.. As a human expression goes, "Only time will tell". I do have a social side, but when I'm on the bridge, or just flat out on-duty, I'm all business.
Cadet V Yates: So true, and trust me, your going to catch someone’s eye. Now the last two questions. Favorite Star Trek Series?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: as strange as this may sound, I like them all. I started out watching the original, before TNG came out. I was like 6 or 7 when TNG first aired, and have continuously followed the shows since
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Even through Enterprise, and all 10 movies
Cadet V Yates: WOW, you sound like me, but I got years on you LOL. Favorite Star Trek Character?
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: All-time, or for each series?
Cadet V Yates: All-Time
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Oh boy...........
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Give me a moment....
Cadet V Yates: ::Sadistic Laugh::
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: All-time favorites.... I actually have more than one. It'd have been easier to give my series favorites
Cadet V Yates: OK, it's a first Series Favorite.
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Scotty (TOS), Riker (TNG), Jadzia Dax (DS9).. Capt. Janeway (VGR), and Hoshi (ENT)
Cadet V Yates: Wow, Great List
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Watching Dax, is how I got into doing Trill characters. When I've gone to conventions, I've even done the spots
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: Which.............. Let me tell you, is very hard to do on one's self
Cadet V Yates: Thank you for your time, and if they ask, this was the most painful thing since the dentist
Cmdr Crio Ijoula: ::Shudders at the mention of dentists::
Alien Corner
Risans
Humanoid species noted for their hedonistic approach to life.1 Risa is in a binary system2, and although it is naturally a swampland its extensive weather modification system gives the entire planet a tropical climate.3 Combined with the local's easygoing approach to life this has made Risa a very popular holiday destination with many Federation citizens.4
A popular Risan symbol is the Horga'hn, a statuette which is the symbol of sexuality. To display a horga'hn is to indicate that you are seeking jamaharon, a mysterious procedure said to be very enjoyable.2 Care should be taken with this practice, as jamaharon has been known to be fatal to those with a weak heart. Curzon Dax died via jamaharon, although he did at least die with a smile on his face.3
In 2366 Captain Picard took a holiday on Risa, where he first met Vash and destroyed the Tox Utat.2 In 2368 Commander Riker met a Katarian operative on Risa who introduced him to an addictive game designed to control the minds of all those who used it.5 In 2367 Geordi LaForge went to attend an AI conference on Risa, but was intercepted and kidnapped by Romulans whilst on the way.6
The New Essentialists were a group of Federation citizens who claimed that Risa represented the Federation's soft attitude toward life. They aimed to disrupt the planet as much as possible, and in 2373 they were joined by Lieutenant Commander Worf. Worf accessed the planets weather control system and shut it down, ruining the holidays of hundreds of thousands of people. Worf eventually saw the error of his ways and returned the weather to normal.3
Board news
The last count was taken at 3:45 pm. on April 8, 2006. This week’s count was taken at 12:06 am April 16, 2006. When doing the counts I leave out the board Sims for a counting of sim placement based on the fact this is how they sim. And would be unfair to the live Sims.
The total number of new postings increased from 7,245 to 7,341. For a total increase of 96 postings of the live Sims and general areas. Let’s pick it up folks.
Ship counts
These are the live Sim Ship log count
Well the New York landed on top, but the BIG story of the week comes from the 101st. A promise was made from their commander, Colonel Fox about appearing in a dress if the 101st Out-post the Frontier. As my sister would probably say, “Foxy……time to pay up”. Great work 101st BooRaaah!

Star Trek with Dilbert Management
What the 24th century would be like under today's management techniques.
After the crew is told they are now Empowered, Dr. Crusher begins doing medical experiments on unsuspecting enlisted personnel while Worf slaughters everyone he considers "weak".
Data fails an ISO9000 audit because the construction of his positronic brain isn't properly documented. He curses Dr. Soong’s record keeping as he's stripped for parts.
All members of the ship's maintenance crew are required to be involved in Quality Circles. The loss of productive work time causes them to cut back on scheduled repairs, resulting in a warp core breach that kills everyone.
Commander Riker is fired after a round of "right sizing". Star Fleet decided that it didn't really need someone to seduce alien females and smirk a lot.
As part of the new Dignity Enhancement program, Picard is forced to allow Troi to wear uniforms that cover her breasts.
Star Fleet decides to adopt the Borg "Team Building" methods and requires all newborn babies to be implanted with computer interface devices. As a bonus this cuts down on carpal tunnel disability claims.
The Enterprise finds that it can no longer communicate with Star Fleet Command because they're still running an old version of Windows and can't get budget approval for the upgrade.
As part of a cycle time reduction plan, the crew is ordered to cut the time necessary to encounter and escape from new life forms from once a week to 5 days a week. A re-use program is introduced under the nickname RERUNS (Reap Earnings and Royalties Using No-longer-produced Shows).
Picard is ordered to go to diversity sensitivity training after system logs indicate that he has repeatedly disparaged the Ferengis, the Q, and the Romulans.
A ship-wide reorganization results in Worf becoming the ship's counselor, Dr. Crusher taking over the engine room, Deanna managing weapons, Data running sick bay and Geordi at the helm. They were conquered by a Klingon freighter 15 minutes later.
The crew mutinies when they are given their annual performance reviews and find that, despite saving the universe numerous times, they're still only getting 3% raises.
