Ship News
USS New York NCC 71868
The New York took a break this week and held a holiday party. Everyone had a great time. And this helped to unite the crew. But as expected some conversations centered on the recent events of the New York.
Next week the New York will take leave simming will resume as scheduled.
USS Aryes NCC 81204
The Aryes held a holiday party and everyone who was present enjoyed the evening of fun and relaxation. Next week the Aryes will resume the current storyline.
101st Marine Pathfinders
The Pathfinders held training exercises for both the enlisted and officers. The enlisted performed excellently and Flt General J Weslynes congratulates them. They did several excises beginning with room breaching and clearing, and progressing to a rescue mission.
The flying division, under the XO's direction performed flawlessly.
USS Pegasus NCC 71868
Remains in the Qualor system at the moment they have taken a position behind an asteroid. They are finishing a detailed inventory of the Gray Hawk and all surrounding ships. In addition to maintaining scans of any and all unauthorized ship activity.
While in position, a Ferrengi ship, unauthorized entered the area and began scans of the various ships. In a pattern suggestive of a general search. So far they have done nothing. But the Pegasus remains posed to take action if needed. Tac remains ready to interfere with any transport beam from the Ferrengi ship.
Could this search be for the salvagers found on the GrayHawk or for parts? At any rate the Pegasus remains ready.
USS Frontier NCC
Started on a double mission they will be taking a diplomat to Capella, at the request of the Capellain government to try and unite the 12 tribes after centuries of bickering and warfare. Our Diplomat will not have an easy time of that at all.
But before reaching Capella they will be bringing a second team of scientist to the Aldebaran science station. Where they will be working on the same project as the scientist on the New York. Hopefully the Frontier will not meet with the same degree of difficulty.
Board sims
USS Vindicator NCC 16052
Big news for the crew of the Vindicator, your Co has returned and the sim is now up and running. Please report in to begin your postings again. Welcome back Colonel Keraz.
The ground Lyran forces are on the retreat. And the last shuttle the Lyrans had on the planet can now be found in pieces. Good shooting Captain Dorius.
USS Terrasect NCC 70000
The Admiral has returned to the ship after verifying that Admiral Stuart's vessel was not part of the debris. A piece of debris was collected to be analyized on the ship.
There are a few questions on the Admirals mind. And these seem to grow with each passing day.

Interview
This member who is chosen for this, is entirely at random and unknown to the member until my famous IM introduction of "your my latest victim lol".
This weeks victim is Ensign Kwin Spiritwalke. She is assigned to the USS Frontier.
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:33 P.M.]: Hi
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:34 P.M.]: Good evening
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:34 P.M.]: are you busy, cause "your my latest victim lol".
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:35 P.M.]: Not to busy, so long as I can be a victim in IM and I can help
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:35 P.M.]: Good evening Ensign Spiritwalke
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:36 P.M.]: Good evening Ma'am how many I help you?
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:38 P.M.]: Your assigned to the USS Frontier, Admiral Charan Taylar's ship. What are your impressions of the ship?
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:39 P.M.]: Yes Ma'am. I am always careful to answer that question. I think the crew is a skilled crew, But I am always a bit concerned when Star Fleet has Admirals flying around on missions. Admirals are to valuable to be out gallivanting through the stars.
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:41 P.M.]: Having an Admiral for a Co is unique. What would you say is the most unique aspect to her command style?
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:44 P.M.]: Her command style is by far not the worst I have ever seen. I have been allowed to run medical as I know it should be run, including the implementation of a training program and when needed will keep people alive. equally I have been allowed to work as a Counselor free from the constraints of command. From those perspectives I am happy with her command perhaps if you directed your question differently I may be able to answer more clearly Ma'am.
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:46 P.M.]: Why did you join the Star Fleet? And what do you hope to bring to it and to take with you?
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:48 P.M.]: I started my first as an exchange officer between Bajor and Star Fleet. When Bajor elected not to join the Federation I elected to join Star Fleet because I believe the best way to achieve peace is by working together. I bring to Star Fleet my years of experience as a field combat medic and doctor as well as my knowledge of primitive medicines and my knowledge as a counselor. I hope to bring back to Bajor when I retire a better understand of our neighbors in order to better help Bajor interact with the rest of the community of planets.
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:51 P.M.]: Your are the CMO. What lead you to specialize in this field and what would you tell others thinking of entering medicine?
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:53 P.M.]: I'm sorry that's acting CMO in addition to CNS.
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:54 P.M.]: I entered the medical field out of need. I started first as a field medic during the cardassian occupation. I was awarded a field commission and in time I attending medical school and become a doctor. I would say to those who are thinking of entering the medical profession to ask themselves who is the most important person you or the injured. If the answer is you. don't become a medic, nurse or doctor. Our duty demands our willingness to enter harms way into to saves lives not take them.
Jenina Weslynes1 [9:57 P.M.]: It must be hard to maintain a double post. I admire that. What is the most fulfilling aspect of doing this?
Kwin Spiritwalke [9:59 P.M.]: I became a Counselor because I realized that when focusing on just the physical I was healing only half the person. With my skill as both a medical doctor and as a counselor, I am able to treat the whole person. We are more than just muscle and bones. Each of us has a heart, a spirit that needs tending to once in a while. This is the greatest joy I get from working in both, this being healing the entire person.
Jenina Weslynes1 [10:00 P.M.]: What interest and hobbies do you enjoy? And do these help you as a star fleet officer, or in your speciality?
Kwin Spiritwalke [10:02 P.M.]: I enjoy crossbreeding types of ivy and other plants that are similar between different worlds. I also enjoy growing herbs and other planets that have use in medicine. So use some of my hobbies translates directly into what I do and teach.
Jenina Weslynes1 [10:04 P.M.]: Normally I would ask if there was a special someone in your life. But I recently heard you got engaged. Would you like to tell the membership about it?
Kwin Spiritwalke [10:05 P.M.]: Well Justin Kinsley and I are to be joined together once all our families have arrived here from both Sol and Bajor. I left an open note to the crew and asked them that instead of sending us any gifts to spend the time they would have used finding us gifts with the children of Star Fleet who have lost a parent.
Jenina Weslynes1 [10:06 P.M.]: That's a wonderful idea.
Jenina Weslynes1 [10:06 P.M.]: One final question is there anything you would like added, changed, or removed from the United Forces?
Kwin Spiritwalke [10:08 P.M.]: I would love to see United Force focus on the lives of the crews and while the technology we have is wonderful, it is simply a tool that without the people behind the tools it is meaningless.
Jenina Weslynes1 [10:10 P.M.]: I agree which is why we have the boards and encourage full participation both on the boards, in the sims, and in the RR. We are all more then just officers on duty. Thank you very much for your time. Have a wonderful evening.
Kwin Spiritwalke [10:12 P.M.]: Thank you... I hope you edit the typos if you elect to use this....lol
Jenina Weslynes1 [10:12 P.M.]: I plan on doing that

Akaali
Picture form Akaali - Memory Alpha
The Akaali was discovered in 2151 by Enterprise NX-01. Their planet was name was never given but it been given DITL Planet #735 by the Daystrom Institute Technical Library. (picture of the planet can be found at Daystrom Institute Technical Library) The planet is an M-class with a humanoid populace. They are identified by bony ridges on both sides of their forehead.
They were at the time of the first contact a pre-industrial society. They were falling victim to a planet wide plague caused by the actions of a race known as the Malurians, conducting mining operations to extract viridum. The industrial lubricant being used proved to be toxic to the Akaali's. Captain Archer and his crew were able to find a cure, assist in ridding the planet of the Malurians.
