On the viewscreen in Rear Admiral Harold Franklin Kennedy, a sector commander and head of Starfleet's internal affairs investigations. The Aryes has arrived on Earth so that the senior crew may attend the hearing in regards to the actions they have undertaken over the past several months in the absence of Shran. Shran113: Secretly though, the crew also has the secondary directive to investigate the old Capitol Hill Museum located in Washington DC in North America, due to a crytpic message given by Shran's mirror counterpart, Jenkins Hill... the pre-Revolutionary War name for Capitol Hill. Shran113: But first there is a matter of the official hearing that will take place at Starfleet Headquarters Shran113: Internal Affairs Director Rear Admiral Harold Kennedy will preside along with Judge Advocate General's Commander Helen Grace. Interesting fact, it was built to house the remains of George Washington, but the tomb itself remains empty as Washington was interred in Mount Vernon. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > CNS > Of course, i have you and the girls and I wouldn't change it for anything in the galaxy.. ZeelaPeers: CENG>TOUR2> I already know that and if youcan't help me go. Deactivate hologram. cindyleemckenzie: CNS>::Shes smiles:: Tac> You could change them once in a while ST NPC01: TOUR2>CENG>That's not how... ::The hologram deactivates and fades out of sight.:: Aidan McKenzie: Tac > CNS > I do change them when i am not on duty or getting into trouble Marshal Collins: CSCI>::He spots Zeela by the wrought iron fence.::CENG>I guess we all followed the same bread crumb.:: Clydegreathous: MCO>CENG> Why so mean cindyleemckenzie: CNS> TAC> You ok I was joking dear ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Ignores Marshall for the moment. Major Greathouse you are good for 'shooting things' I"m sure that either you or Lieutenant McKenzie brought a side arm correct? Aidan McKenzie: Tac > CNS > of course I'm ok. why wouldn't I be? ::smiles at her:: Clydegreathous: MCO>CENG> I'm alway armmed Marshal Collins: CSCI>CENG>Zee, Clyde's not that stupid. We are on reprimand as it is do you think he would come to the capitol planet of the UF ar... MCO>What? cindyleemckenzie: CNS>TAC> Good ::takes his hand:: ZeelaPeers: CENG>MCO> Then blast that gate open we need to get on the other side. Clydegreathous: MCO>::Looks around then moves close to the gate and spin kicks landing a huge foot on the gate:: Shran113: ACTION>Greathouse foot impact against the forcefield in front of the wrought iron gate and bounces harmlessly off Clydegreathous: MCO> CENG>CSCI> Stand back force filed pull a phaser you didn't see that adjust the beam and fires:: Shran113: ACTION>The phaser disables the forcefield and knocks open the iron gates. Immedieatly an alarm begins to sound in the distance. Clydegreathous: MCO>CENG>CSCI> Run I'll hold them off Aidan McKenzie: Tac > CNS > ::holding hands with Cindy:: CNS > Still, I can imagine the explosion of this super volcano would be pretty awesome ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Ignorest the arlarms and walks beyond the gate with a swift pace::: cindyleemckenzie: CNS>TAC> Yes it would be Marshal Collins: CSCI>::He takes off after Zeela.:: NOIP>Well if you can't beat'em... rob a museum Clydegreathous: MCO>CSCI> Keep her safe Marshal Collins: CSCI>MCO>I will Shran113: ACTION>Several security guards appraoch the source of the alarm and the very alarming looking Clyde Greathouse. Clydegreathous: MCO>::Pulls the gate closed Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::grins:: CNS > I wonder if I can be here to witness when she finally does blow.. ST NPC01: GUARD>MCO>Clear the way and tell us what you are doing here? ZeelaPeers: CENG>:::Continues to follow the signal:: Marshal Collins: CSCI>::Continues to follow Zeela.:: Clydegreathous: MCO>GUrad> what a cheep force filed my phase was on the lowest stun setting and it open the gate Clydegreathous: MCO>Guard> Weres your suppier at Shran113: ACTION>Peers and Collins arrive at the Tomb of Washington. The catacombs themselves are in shambles and crumbling. In the middle of a small alcove stands an old looking stone coffin on a stone base. The singal is coming strongest from there. ST NPC01: GUARD>MCO>This is a museum. That forcefield was only meant to keep intruders out of the dangerous parts of the building. We don't have anything worth of any value to steal. Now get out of our way so we can save whoever was foolish enough to go down there. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > CNS > you think we should be heading back to washington DC. Knowing Clyde, he'll made a mess of things and beat up half of washington ::chuckles:: ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Stops:: NOIP> Put my career on the line on the word of an Andorian pirate and despot. This better be worth it. Clydegreathous: MCO>Guard> No one went down their Marshal Collins: CSCI>CENG>Should we open it? ::He motions to the coffin.:: ZeelaPeers: CENG>CSCI> Unless you can see through it and tell me what is there yes. ST NPC01: GUARD>MCO>Our sensors indicated that two humans entered the catacombs. Now get out of our way or we will have to use force. Clydegreathous: MCO>Guard> I would not let one persone down their Clydegreathous: MCO>Guards> You have phasers Marshal Collins: CSCI>::He braces himself against the heavy lid.::NOIP>Geez, I thought I was supposed to be the sarcastic one... CENG>Want to help? ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Starts trying to slide the top off :: CSCI> As I weight practically nothing, yes! ST NPC01: GUARD>MCO>Of course not... again this is a museum. Why would we need phasers? ::He rushes at Clyde with three other guards.:: Clydegreathous: MCO>::Grabs them and throws them agint the wall:: Shran113: ACTION>The coffin lid slides enough that light shines onto the inside of the stone container revealing the secrets inside, nothing. The coffin is empty. ST NPC01: GUARDS>::Two gaurds try to wrestle Clyde to the ground as their comrades are thrown off. One manages to dislodge the phaser from his grasp.:: Marshal Collins: CSCI>::Works his neck as he peeks in.::CENG>That was anti-climatic.:: Clydegreathous: MCO>Guards> Ok I'll move ZeelaPeers: CENG>CSCI> There is something down here or our tricorders would not have lead us here. Clydegreathous: MCO>::Moves a side:: Marshal Collins: CSCI>CENG>But where? ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Kneels down:: CSCI>Collins down here, look. ST NPC01: GUARDS>::Two hold down Clyde, while three more begin to head to the catacombs.:: Marshal Collins: CSCI>::Kneels.::CENG>What is it? Clydegreathous: MCO>Guards> I think we should go with them ZeelaPeers: CENG>:::moves her hand over the symbol:: CSCI>::Look at the square compass its a masonic symbol. ST NPC01: GUARDS>MCO>Not you. You stay right here. Someone from Starfleet is apparently looking for you. Shran113: ACTION>As Zeela Peers moves her hand over the raised engraving of the Square and Compass there is a click and the front panel of the stone base pops off. Clydegreathous: MCO>GUards> Suite your self ::lifts them up and walks down the corodior:: ST NPC01: GUARD>MCO>Wait! HELP! ::The hang on for dear life.:: Clydegreathous: MCO>Guards> So how long you worked here ZeelaPeers: CENG>She picks up the panel:: CSCI>Apparently, we have another clue. Marshal Collins: CSCI>::Notices the signal changes on his tricorder as the interference is removed and the signal clears up.::NOIP>No way ZeelaPeers: CENG>CSCI> What are you reading? Shran113: ACTION>Beneatht the panel in a small false compartment is a dusty and dingy relic, but very recognizable. It is a Starfleet Commbadge. Marshal Collins: CSCI>CENG>Shran's commbadge signal. ZeelaPeers: CENG>CSCI> So now we have two questions: One. How did the captains comm badge get into this tomb, and when did he join the Free Masons? ST NPC01: GUARDS>CENG>CSCI>Hold it right there. In the name of Earth Security we order you to stop and leave this area immedieatly! Clydegreathous: MCO>Guards>Hey these two got scared Marshal Collins: CSCI>::He picks up the badge, but then stands as the guards appear.:: CENG>I hope we get a chance to answer those questions. ZeelaPeers: CENG>Guards> Lieutenant Junior Grade Zeela Peers. I need to speak to your superiors. There's has been an archeological discovery. ZeelaPeers: CENG>:::Whispers:: CSCI> This is how grownups handle problems. ST NPC01: GUARDS>CENG>Return with us to the main levels. ZeelaPeers: CENG>Guards> Thank you. Clydegreathous: MCO>::Sets the guards he carried down:: You two are walking back Shran113: ACTION>The group is led to the topside level and back into the Capitol Rotunda. There waiting for them is the museum manager and Commander Helen Grace with two members of Starfleet Security CmdrHelenGrace: JAG>::s\Stands glaring at the group with an icy expression.:: Your actions will not reflect well at the hearing. Shran113: ATTENTION Marshal Collins: ::AA:: Aidan McKenzie: ::AA:: CmdrHelenGrace: ::AA:: Shran113: For the record state your name rank and position CmdrHelenGrace: JAG>Cmdr Helen Grace Marshal Collins: CSCI>Marshal Collins Aidan McKenzie: Tac > Lt Aidan Mckenzie ZeelaPeers: CENG>Lieutenant JG Zeela Peers Shran113: Tonight the crew of the Aryes is back in front of Admiral Kennedy and the reviewing board. their current infraction not-withstanding there is still much to discuss. Shran113: Are there any questions? Marshal Collins: No, sir Aidan McKenzie: No, sir Shran113: =====RESUME SIM===== ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>Tell me. What do you ahve to say to these newest charges: Breaking and entering, damaging artifacts in a museum, and assaulting security personnel? Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ADM > I wasn't around to commit these charges, sir Marshal Collins: CSCI>ADM>I understand they look bad in printed form, but really by our standards those charges are pretty minor. ::he gives a nervous laugh.:: Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::glances toward Collins with a raised brow:: CSCI > Minor? CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>All> Is this how you conduct yourselves on board your ship as well? Throwing aside the rules when they don't suit your purposes? Marshal Collins: CSCI>TAC>emeberray uoyay hotsay emay? Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::blinks at Collins, then realizing he was trying to speak pig latin. he turned back to the lady JAG:: Grace > Ma'am, i wasn't there ZeelaPeers: CENG> ::Arms folded in front of her waiting to see what they have to say:: ST NPC01: ADM>CSI>Lieutenant, we speak pig-latin. Now if someone will please answer the Commander's question. Marshal Collins: CSCI>JAG>I just mean to say that the crew of the Aryes tends to be unorthodox in our way of handling situations, and in the way we present ourselves, but out results often speak for themselves. ZeelaPeers: CENG>CSCI> What results? Marshal Collins: CSCI>::whispers.::CENG>Whose side are you on? Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::shakes his head:: NOIP > and here I thought I was the only one to get into trouble like this CmdrHelenGrace: Gracw> Well said indeed, lieutenant. So the end justifies the means, does it? ::Coldly:: ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Turns to him and gets close to him::: Believe it or not I'm on your side. I would like you to remember what it was like to be an officer in this fleet and not a character from a movie. Marshal Collins: CSCI>CENG>I'm a little hurt by that, but we'll talk about it later. JAG>Commander, we suceeded in removing the mirror double Shran form the ship, we have stopped time anomolies, Romulan plots, uncovered borg technology, rescued sick and injured, and even negotiated treaties in my tenure with this crew. You cannot forget the good, just because of the bad? Aidan McKenzie: Tac > JAG > yeah.. what he said ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Steps forward:: JAG> Ma'am, may I be allowed to speak CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>That is not what you're asking. You wish us to forgive the bad because the result, ultimately, was good. Have you heard of the Fruit of the Poisonous Tree, lieutenant? CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>Yes, Lieutenant Peers? Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::turns and looks at Peers as she requested to speak:: ZeelaPeers: CENG>JAG> Ma'am, I agree with Lieutenant Collins to a degree. The Aryes crew has done excellent work while Captain Shran ran ship. I Just think that we lost our way. ::-D irects this last bit at Collins:: Every commander or officer at some point in his career has to play things 'fast and loose' Its the willingness to take those chances that greatness comes from. I just think that 'fast and loose' became the rule and not the exception. ST NPC01: ADM>CENG>Interesting hypothesis, Lieutenant Peers, but you seem to only be making our point for us. CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>CENG> Fast and losse as you describe it, is never aceeptable as a command method, lieutenant, even when risks must be taken, they must be thoughtfully considered not executed with cavlier intentions. ZeelaPeers: CENG>GRACE> I agree ma'am and it was more a figure of speech. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::he steps forward:: JAG > Your honor, I have a comment for that, if I may share it? ST NPC01: ADM>TAC>Go ahead Lieutenant CmdrHelenGrace: JAG> You, Mr Mckenzie have more to prove that most others. You were recently promoted I believe and yet your knowlege of Federation policies and Starfleet regulations has not progressed in kind. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > JAG, ADM > Granted, Risks must be taken and need to be thought out before being executed, but often times, Time could be of the essence and time for thought may not be there. Someting taking action on the fly gets the job done. The results may be less then stellar but the job is done Aidan McKenzie: Tac > JAG > Considering when i just came from and the fact that I never went to school here, or the Academy, i think I am doing rather well CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>Tac> as the admiral said..you make our point for us. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > JAG > Yes, I heard ST NPC01: ADM>TAC>I see, Mr. McKenzie... is that why on Stardate 21056.7 you opened fire on an lightly armed mining vessel nearly destroying it while in orbit over Rahl IV... I believe that was the same planet where Mr. Greathouse unprovoked, killed a miner with a phaser set on kill. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ADM > With all due respect, Admiral, I had just arrived in the middle of that situation. I had been palced at the Tactical postion with no knowledge of what to do. Once the Captain realized this, i was reassigned and was asked to learn the position, study, in other words ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>::Continues checking his records.:: That action along with the aforemention infraction committed Mr. Greathouse resulted in your commanding officer losing his command. That was followed a few months later by the death of your new CO Commodore Trent Williams... the escape and recapture of Dr. James Almass one of the Federations most notorious criminals by the Aryes crew, the incident on Abin III, which Lieutenant Collins shares a little more than the blame for, and most recently your blatant disregard for the Prime Directive on Capella IV ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>Arew these the result you are talking about? Marshal Collins: CSCI>ADM>No is not saying we haven't made mistakes, but who hasn't? ZeelaPeers: CENG>:::Folds her arms and waits:: Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ADM > Those incidents occured during my.. let's just say I was off the bridge ZeelaPeers: CENG>::Shakes her head no to Collins as if to let him know to stop talking:: Marshal Collins: CSCI>::Puts his head down.:: CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>At least Lieutenant Collins has the capcity for shame. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > Grace > I like to think I do too. I'll agree, we all make mistakes. After all, we're only human... oid ST NPC01: ADM>TAC>Mr. McKenzie, you are always so intent on trying to save yourself that you shift the blame for everything on the rest of your crew... maybe it was unwise for us to allow a person from the early 21st Century to have a commission in Starfleet. It was afterall one of the most decadent and self-involved time periods of this planet's recent history. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ADM > I what..? Who's putting blame on who? If I done it, then i'll admit it. If I havent done it, than why admit something that you haven't done? ST NPC01: ADM>TAC>You are a crew. You rise and fall together. That is what it means to serve in Starfleet. That is what it means to serve onboard a starship. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > Adm > That's sort of obvious. Something I am learning and I know things can't be learned overnight CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>Tac> You do not learn them at the expense of others, lieutenant. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > Grace > Another things that is quite obvious, ,ma'am Aidan McKenzie: thing ST NPC01: ADM>TAC>Silence, Lieutenant. ALL>It seems very clear to me that the Aryes crew has done some great services for Starfleet. Not the least of which was uncovering and quelling a seperatist plot on Andoria. You have the potential to be a great crew, but you are unfocused. For some reason Captain Shran seems to be one of the only people who can get results from this crew. ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>With that said, your search for Shran has proven fruitless. You are no closer to finding him today than you were when he disappeared so many months ago. I am officially calling off the search for your missing captain. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > Adm > No way! Marshal Collins: CSCI>ADM>You can't do that! ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>Order! Aidan McKenzie: Tac > Adm > ::smirks:: I'll have a cheese birger with fries ZeelaPeers: CENG>ADM> Sir, may I be permitted to speak? ST NPC01: ADM>CENG>Yes, Lieutenant. ::He looks glaringly at Aidan.:: CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>All> I have no doubt however, that given the opportunity you will disregard this order as freely as you do others. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::looks a bit sheepish under the admiral's glare:: ZeelaPeers: CENG>ADM> Sir, though our efforts brought trouble to this crew we did find one clue as to the whereabouts of Captain Shran.. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > :: turns and smiles at Grace, with a look asking Would we do that? :: ST NPC01: ADM>CENG>Yes, his commbadge, locked in a secret compartment for 1789. Starfleet Science will study the artifact and conduct an indepent survey of the matter. The Aryes crew has proven that they are too close to this matter. As Commander Grace has brought up we are under no illusions that the Aryes under Major Greathouse will not simply disregard our directive given the first chance. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::mutters:: self > you aren't just whistlin' dixie.. ZeelaPeers: CENG>ADM> I meant no disrespect Admiral and this officer would welcome any changes that would be benificial to the crew. ST NPC01: ADM>CENG>Good. ALL>That is why the USS Aryes will no longer be under the command of Major Clyde Greathouse, but your new commanding officer. Commander Helen Grace. ST NPC01: ADM>JAG>You have wanted this transfer for sometime, Commander. I hope it does not disappoint. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::blinks and eyes widen:: Adm, JAG > Hey now, let's not be too hasty ST NPC01: ADM>TAC>There is nothing hasty about this, Lietenant McKenzie. Commander Grace has proven that she is fully capable of following not only Starfleet orders but Starfleet principles and directives. She is an officer that Command hopes will help reel in the antics of your crew... unless of course you prefer our second option where we simply disband your crew and mothball the Aryes altogether? CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>::Nods and smiles to the crew in acknowledgement:: Aidan McKenzie: Tac > JAG > Welcome to the aryes, commander.. ::said in a defeated tone:: Marshal Collins: CSCI>AMD>I think we are all more than happy to have Commander Grace join our family. Its a very fair solution. ZeelaPeers: CENG>ADM> Sir I will follow the commanders orders to the letter, and serve her within my capacity. Aidan McKenzie: Tac > ::he then smiled:: JAG > Always nice to have a beautiful woman aboard ::grins as he could almost feel a glare on his back from his wife:: CmdrHelenGrace: Grace>All> I'm certain we will be an efficent and credit worthy team. ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>Good, because I don't need to remind you that it is no longer the 23rd century. Space is not the wild frontier and none of you look like James T. Kirk. Starfleet is no longer a place for cowboys, but officers. And if you forget that again or our leniency here today, I promise you that our next solution will not be so "fair." ST NPC01: ADM>ALL>DISMISSED Shran113: =====END SIM=====
