Kuvak sat in his officer and regarded the Betazoid. "I am not comfortable in the Riov's office so please understand if I seem distracted.

[Lt David Suder]

He gave a nod of understanding to the vulcan commander in front of him "Understood, sir. I would feel equally uncomfortable if I were placed somewhere I had not intended to be."

[Lt Commander Kuvak]

"Thank you, Mr Suder." He bowed his head. "I brought you here to ask you a few things before the coming mission. I didn't tell everyone the full story. These sides are still fighting in some areas. There are rogue groups within groups. In other words, there will be conflicting emotions. Will you, being empathic be able to handle such strong emotions and still stay focused on the task at hand?"

[Lt David Suder]

Suder nodded as the Commander thanked him, then listened as he spoke, with a bowed head "I believe I can keep focused, Commander. Betazoids have the ability to block out emotions if they get too overwhelming. I presume you are comcerned for me for the sake of Jane and our children, but I will assure you as I would her, I'll be fine. Should I need any help, I will summon someone for assistance."

He regarded him and noted his confidence in his answer. "That is good, because I'm depending on you to give me an idea what these people are thinking or feeling. I don't consider myself a diplomat so I'll need whatever insights you can provide me."

[Lt David Suder]

Suder continued to listen and he thought a moment for an answer. "If I should feel or sense something, whether what they are thinking or feeling, that would endanger any of the Away team, I would immediately report to you so that the appropriate action(s) could be taken. Naturally, I would hope that things could be resolved peacefully but if things does escalate into violence, i am capable of defending myself."

"Its the deceptiveness of the people that bother me." He pondered. "Logic dictates we should expect them to be hiding something."

[Lt David Suder]

Deception is usually one of the easiest to pick up in most races." He smiled a bit as he spoke of logic "With two warring factions, there is bound to be hidden agendas. We just need to figure out what they are. I believe that is where I come in. If I can find the right individual, I can sneak into his thoughts and find out what they are and then report it."

[Lt Commander Kuvak]

"That was my conclusion also but," He looked at him closely. "I think there is more than that. I think these people have a greater agenda than either my people or Star Fleet realize."

[Lt David Suder]

He looked at Kuvak a couple moments, thinking Perhaps they do and I am sure when we get there their main objective will be revealed. I just hope we can catch it in time before there is a major bloodbath and we're caught in the middle."

[Lt Commander Kuvak]

"As do we both," He stood straight in the chair. "I will leave you to mentally prepare for what comes. The away team will be leaving immediately so be prepared when called."

[Lt David Suder]

When the commander stood, he took that as a dismissal, or at least a partial one. He stood as well, giving a nod "Aye, sir. I shall go meditate and prepare my mind for what is to come. I'll be ready when the away team is."

"Thank you Lieutenant," He saluted him in the Rihannsu way. "You are dismissed."

He returned the Rihannsu salute then turned to exit the office to go prepare, mentally and physically
