"That must have been a very difficult decision for you to make. With the success of the surgery and your assignment to an active Marine ship, are you considering transferring back? You could request a non-combat assignment and remain in Medical. I don't want to interfere with any decisions you've already made." She smiled. "I suppose I can't help being just a little prejudicial." She tilted head in the direction of the globe and Delta shield insignia she wore on her own collar.
Nemi's eyes followed the doctor as she quickly and effectively identified what was happening around her. "That's good to know." she replied when Kestral pointed out that Doctor Claness had recovered. "And yes I have passed all the standard medical courses, just don't expect me to perform any surgeries. I look terrible in red."
As they made their may to the first cargo bay, the absence of personnel in the corridors subdued the fragile optimism she'd been nurturing and she hurried to bridge the silence. "It may be too early to determine statistically, but I'd been considering whether this phenomenon might have affected certain races differently. Some of the crew recovered quickly, while others are still suffering it's effects. I suspect a pattern but don't have the data to draw any conclusions from."

Andorians were considered normally clear thinkers under pressure... And so Anichent continued to curse to himself, as his confused state of mind agitated him immensely.
Andorian antennae are very sensitive receptors that not only express their feelings, among other things, but contribute to their vision, hearing, and smell, and aid in balance. And,they can even detect electrical fields, changes in air density, temperature, strong emotions, and adrenaline or teptaline...
There was something familiar... Or in relation to...
Or was it all part of the confusion?
The corridor began to slow down in it's spin, and still leaning with a shoulder to a wall, he watched as the two fully conscious security guards began checking on the others.
Lt Wynn, and a medical team, would be arriving any moment, and Anichent had been trying to do his best to focus on duty, and what needed to be done.
He reported to Col. Hall, and then gathered whatever information he could. He looked to those who were conscious, "Find out who in Security are conscious and able, and then I want teams on all decks searching for crew who are not. Assist in relocating them to the cargo bays being used by medical."
"Yes Sir"
Major Aniri remained unconscious in Sickbay, and he would not be joining her...
And with that thought, came the next task...
He pulled away from the wall, and focusing on keeping his balance, began walking.

David looked at his team "Jackson take the comatose to CargoBay 1 then gather the team back up, well start hunting for more crew"
He picks Iverson and heads for Sickbay "You know Ma'am this is becoming a habit me carrying you" he Laughs
A few minutes later he enters Sickbay and places her in a biobed "She Hit her head when she fell, my Medics saw nothing wrong, but I figure better safe than sorry" he looks around "You need me to move anybody?" he asks

Post by Lt. J.G. Kestral Greyhouse on Apr 28, 2010 14:06:09 GMT -5
They walked in silence for a while to the cargo bay and when they got there Nemesis started talking about the matter at hand which made her mind switch back to the present rather than to what could have been had she decided to stay with the core. Going on her crutches she sat down on one of the cots that weren’t being used and rested putting her leg up so it would quit throbbing. Her back wasn’t exactly up to hauling all that weight long term.
The Andorians on the ship were the ones that stayed out the longest with some still suffering from the affects of what happened. Anyone else came out in varying degrees with the telepathically strong out of the bunch having a bit more problems coming to so to speak. That is what I got by looking over the injury list and who all is in what state. Whatever did this acted similar to a never gas pacifically targeting particular nervous system configuration types leaving the rest that were similar with residuals.
That was when she made a face because she had to move to keep her back from cramping. It was ruff but her back wasn’t stiffing up as quickly as before the surgery. All the exercise kind of over did it for her and she was going to have to sit there for a while to try and rest sore muscles.
As for your earlier comment about the core…I’ve started thinking about re-joining, but it is going to have to take a whole lot more than me just wanting to be back to get back in. Plus, still got to let my back heal up there is no promises I won’t be back in a brace and then the core would just rather have me behind a desk then out here working if that is the case.
Looking around the room at the teams working on people she wanted so desperately to just get in there and start working to somehow distract from her personal feelings but that wasn’t going to be. Not now not with how her back was throbbing in protest every time that she tried to get up.

Walking a bit unstable, Anichent continued on with the Colonel's orders . He tapped his badge and bluntly spoke, "th'Dani to Greathouse, find out if there are any missing engineers, any work crews out when this...cloud engulfed the ship. If anyone is unaccounted for, have your team search every jeffery tube, every crack in this ship until they are found."

"You may be right, but I still feel it's too soon to be certain. Colonel Allen hasn't yet recovered and while the Andorians seem to have been felt the effect most strongly, it may simply be that their physiology is more susceptible. We're going to need to determine whether or not this cloud is targeting individuals or races consciously."
Nemi leaned against the bed as she considered Kestral's answers about the Marines. She found it confusing that someone who had served in the Corps could speak so casually of leaving it. There must be more to the story than the medical aspect, something Kestral was perhaps not yet willing to acknowledge or share.
"Are you taking any post op medications? If there's no conflict with anything you're currently prescribed, a few cc's of Asinolyathin might help you feel more comfortable. I've noticed a pattern with many doctors, they have a tendency to take care of others but often forget to care for themselves."

She began to regain consciousness, at first her eyes opened only for a min before closing. This repeated a few times, finally she could keep them open for a few minutes, that was when she slowly began to move around working up to getting ready to sit up in bed. She had no idea how long she was out, but remembered feeling a strange sensation before finding herself on the bio bed.

Bart finds himself in sickbay out of the action. He wondered how his fighters were doing and if they had been scrambled. Suddenly he realized he was in pain. He let out and audible grunt but was afraid to touch is leg.

Marc was still a bit stunned, but his mind was coming back. His flight deck looked like war zone and his Deck Chief was now a resident of sickbay. He walked over to his new pilot Walker who was already assessing wounded. "Walker, how many pilots are conscious and able to work?"

Jack had a shirt full of lubricant and part all around him. He had a skeleton, and everything to fix at once. In short, he was in heaven. He had restored full impulse, but the warp engine had eluded him. If only he had more people, people, that was it. He tapped his comm badge. "Colonel, I believe we may speed up the process of 'counting' by tying in a feed from the computer to the personal comm badges. I'm sure it could send the readings right to sickbay to let you have an available list of personnel. Additionally you have full impulse power."

Finding herself in sickbay and laying on a bio bed she cursed under her breath as she sat up. She looked around and waved for a nurse to come over, she needed to be released and to get back to her post. This ship was in trouble and she had to help secure it and keep it from being boarded.
In her mind she didn't care who came over as long as someone did and soon. She was not about to wait much longer.

“That is going to be a challenge because of how both constancies are present and there would be only minor differences between the two.”
With her mind momentarily distracted with thoughts of the problem at hand she was unprepared to the switch back to her personal well being. It took her a while before she spoke.
“I am taking some medication to prevent an infection from developing it makes me tired from time to time. I recall a recommendation to stay away from pain suppressors unless I have time to lay down which with the Doctor currently regaining consciousness in sickbay I can’t afford to be down for any extended time.”
She then handed Nemesis the padd that she had with her so she could see the latest report from sickbay as well as medical staff throughout the ship.
“This is the current data and in the last hour Doctor Thra was moved from unconscious and stable to wake and not yet ready for duty. That means you and me right now are the only two chief medical personnel awake and able to facilitate the medical staff in getting people stabilized and treated.”
Sighing she rubbed her face before taking a breather to refocus her thoughts to try and make sense of everything.
“I apologize when I get stressed out or over taxed I do tend to get into survival mode again. It’s something I learned as a medic and haven’t quite gotten out of my system. We treat what we can now and analyze the data we collaboratively accumulate when possible and able to get something out of it other than slightly conflicting data.”
