::General Weslynes walks in and remembers her days of early training, when this was, well being kind, not among her favorites to say the least. It's been awhile since she ran one.::
Oh what the heck, lets test this baby out. Computer level five ramdon selection of course. ::At this level and higher the course is set outside the confines of field, or gym unless asked for, and the holodeck matrix is replaced by a rainforest setting. ::
::the computer voice states the parameters of the excerise.:: The couse has a timed limit of 20 minutes begin by going due east. Objective is to reach the waterfall and the red flag. Begin now.
Was all the computer said and she off. She ran for 3 feet before reaching a large pool of standing water, she entered the water holding her phaser rifle well above her head. She felt something brush against her leg, and its suddeness made her take a step back, but then she contuined on. Reaching the shoreline, she once again broke out in a run.
She had to jump over a fallen tree, then duck under some branches, she did a running jump to clear some undergrowth with thickets. After this she made a sharp turn to her right jumping up she cleared another fallen tree trunk. She was breathing heavy and was sweating. Before lay a steep hill.
The General once again broke into a run, this time it was up a steep hill. At the mid point of the sharp incline, she used her hands on the ground to keep her balance. At the top of the hill she could hear and see the waterfall.
Now it was downhill, she started down slightly leaning back on on a left angle, making her way down. The rest was easy a simple run to the waterfall and the red flag::
::As she grabbed the flag she bent over breathing heavy:: Course completed in 19.5 minutes. ::The setting disappeared as the holodeck matrix reappeared.::
She stood there with her hands grasping both knees breathing heavy. After she caught her breath she grabbed her towel, wiping her face and then putting it around her neck she smiled. Thinking I really need to do this more often. Have to improve on that time

2nd Lt. Sandra Iverson entered the training center. Walked up to the main desk and sign in. Requesting an obstacle course. She waited the few minutes while the list of course's available to her was complied. She need to work this out.
The Sgt. at the desk smiled, handed her the list and instructed her to keep it for the next 3 months. At that time a new list would be given based on her needs as determined by the senior officers and computer. She nodded and walked quickly down to holosuite 3, holding the list in one hand and swinging her arms. Outside of the holosuite she made her selection.
And walked in. "Computer random course selection on level 4. Difficulty level medium range."
Within seconds she found herself in cold weather gear, a backpack filled with need supplies and equipment.
"You are on Andoria Prime. Your objective is to run this flag on the pole found at 432 by 621. You have 90 mins to complete the course. Once you touch the ski pole to retrieve it the timing begins"
She look at her readings and then called up the coordinates. Saw a path to take and grabbed the ski poles and began.
For this section of the course the poles were a god sent as she them for walking sticks. It helped as she made her way up the incline. Once on top she was breathing heavy, and took a minute to regain a more normal breathing pattern.
Then she put on the ski's and traveled the distance downhill. It was several years since she skied and her ankles reminded her of that fact. At the bottom on the hill using the ski poles she continued after checking with the padd for a map setting and direction.
She came to a frozen body of water and checked to see if she could go around it. She discovered that if she went around she wouldn't complete the course. It took her 15 mins to travel the distance, all the time her mind kept going to what if the ice broke.
She moved on after reaching the shoreline and made the short distance to the flag pole and then raised the flag.
The matrix returned and announced she traversed the course in 78 mins. She turned and walked out.

::Cadet Anarra walks into the holodeck and gets a deep breath in before starting.:: Computer random course selection Leval 3 Medium level range. :: She now stood on a beach Before her appeared a very large ocean enviroment with several island spread out accross the horizon, the computer voice then inturupted her thoughts.:: Your course objective is to find which island fresh water, only one Island does. ::Cadet Anarra thought on this for a second before she was inturupted by the computer again:: You must complete the course in two hours, The island with the fresh water will have a red flag at its source, you must find it and reach it before the two hours are up. the course begins now. ::Anarra quickly shed her outer uniform so she could swim with more ease and stashed it in a water tight back pack which also held a tricorder and a container for water. She quickly observed the horizon and picked out the Island that was clossest to her and went for it. With out hesitation she quickly ran into the water and dove in when it was deep enough. She started to swim out as quickly as she could. She was a good swimmer, but she knew she wasnt the fastest either. After 30 minutes she finally reached the closest island. She reached the shoreline and sat down to catch her breath and take out a tricorder. Anarra scanned the island in front of her. There was numerous plant life and and what looked like some turtle nests around her, but now fresh water. Discouraged a little she started to scan for where the next clossest island was. She was still to far away from it to know if there was fresh water but it was better then any thing. Taking a deep breath Anarra got up off of the beach and she started to run along the shore line so she could get to the closest spot. Reaching it she dove in and started to swim again. Anarra finally reached the second island 40 minutes later she was near exhastion this time when she reached the beach. She made a mental note to swim more distances and to do less diving the next time she was went swimming. Regaining her breathing once more she took her tricorder out of the bag again and scanned the island. Still more plant life, but not a single drop of fresh water. Now discouraged she started to look around and try and find the next island that she had to swim to. Her scans found something surprising at an island that was perhaps 30 minutes away if she was still fresh. This island had animal life, and where there where animals, there was fresh water, she would have to conserve her energy this time, but there was no other choice. Shoving her tricorder back in the pack she ran into the water again and dove in to the cold water, the water had gotten colder it seemed, perhaps because of exposure. She couldnt stay in her much longer then she had to or she would have hipothermia. Anarra started out with the butterfly stroke so that she would conserve more energy. After ten minutes of that she decided she couldnt waste any more time and threw herself into a very fast stroke. Gasping for breath near the end she finally reached where she could touch the bottem. Setting her feet down to give her arms a rest she quickly ran out of the water as fast as her feet would let her.:: computer how much time remaining?:: she asked as she reached the shore and took out her tricorder once more.:: 30 minutes:: Anarra cursed silently. She should have conserved more of her energy early on. She scanned the island and found a fresh water source about ten minutes in. She threw her back pack back on and started the hike to the source. Hiking through forest and heavy underbrush she suddenly heard something. Looking around she saw a deer like object that seemed to think she was its prey.:: oh great:: she said out loud voicing her inner thoughts. She kept hiking trying not to draw its attention, but then she noticed it was about to run. She could hear running water near by so she was almost there. She went into a sprint as she heard the animal leap after her, she wouldnt be able to keep the sprint up long she was thinking , but then she burst into a clearing and but then she saw something that made her happier then she could imagine. Before her was water in not more than 10 feet away was the red flag. Putting another extra burst into her speed she slid into the ground around the flags base and put her hand on the poll. The Animal disappeared as did the Island and the rest of her surroundings. She picked her self up as the computer told her her time: 1 hour 45 minutes. Anarra gave a great sigh of releif and walked out of the holodek but not before asking for a towel to dry off with.

::he walks into the Holodeck:: Computer, run Program Brone Obstacle1, level 3 ::the course appeared, he looked around:: I havnt done this in awhile ::it seemed he was in factory like place, first he had to climb a very high pole to the ceiling , and jump a few feet off of that pole to a metal deck, he stood there for a second because that part was hard enough, he then had to jump from dock to dock, there was about 20 of them, once he was at the other end of the room, he had to slide down another pole , he then had to run up and down crates that came up to a little higher then his knees, he ran up and down and up and down, once at the end of that, he whiped off his sweat and continued, he ran towards the next part of the course where he had to crawl under a net, so he got down and used his arms and legs to push againest the floor, once a set of that was done he got up and an alarm in the factory went off, setting off visible lasers:: Great... ::they were all going in different directions so his legs went over and his body went under and he jumped over a few, when he got to the end of the lasers a robotic looking enemy appeared and I then did a half backflip hitting the enemy on the ground, there he would then press the convinent 'off' switch on the enemy, he then ran towards the end of the coarse and pressed a big red button, ending the timer, the holodeck went back to normal and told him his time:: 15 minutes ::he then laughed and thanked the computer like he always did... he then exited the holodeck:::

2nd Lt. Hunter entered the holodeck. He began to loosen and asked the computer,"Level 5 random course setting."Suddenly he was on a rock strewn planet with a blazing hot sun beating down on him.The computer calmly chimed in,"You are to navigate the rock field, go through the canyon and climb the summit to retrieve the red flag."The maximum time allowed is 20 minutes."He quickly began a fast run dodging some rocks and jumping the smaller ones.Weaving as fast as he could he came to a steep incline leading into a dark canyon.Slowing his run to control his decent Hunter was trying to see into the canyon and nearly feel.Keeping his balance he entered the canyon,as he progressed he saw the canyon held small crevices that he began to leap across. He continued around a sharp left turn to see a large hole in the canyon floor.Stepping up his speed to jump the hole sweat began to really pour into his eyes blurring his vision. He had no time to wipe his eyes because the time to jump the hole was now.Using all his strength and hoping for the best he jumped.one second he was in the air the next he was rolling on the ground from a bad landing. He quickly regained control and got to his feet and continued his run through the canyon.Suddenly he came to a large rock wall with crevices and overhangs.Using all his strength he began to climb. He reached for the crevices and pulled himself up the rocky overhangs.Moving as fast as he could,he finally reached the summit.Pulling his body over the edge he grabbed the red flag. The computer came to life and flatly stated,"Course completed time 15 minutes 31 seconds".William panting from the heat was happy with his time, but his right ankle told him he needed to come here more often.

::The Ensign walks into the holodeck, founded by accident, he is intreaged by the training programs installed. He tries to remember the program he worked on at the academy, it was the hardest one ever to approach him. Finally, the answer came to him and he entered the program into the database.:: Computer, begin course 64, level five; Academy AP Training Program. ::The holodeck is converted to a grassy terrain, with colorful trees and sprouts of daisy's pooping up in every direction. The computer voice recites::Course 64, Level Five; Academy AP Training Program.....You have thirty minutes to save five beings from the disasters that lye ahead using only a phaser rifle. Begin Program ::As soon as the voice cuts out a rumble occurs, slowly and precariously. The ensign looks around, finally realizing what is about to happen he jumps onto a rock quickly. The area, which he so happily stood, was now pouring into the earth. A mount of quick sand is all around him. The ensign clears his mind and remembers h is objective; save those five people. He stares down every object in his vision but does not see any people for him to save. This was his problem at the academy; he was left on a rock for a half of an hour still looking for people to save.
Still thinking, he is interrupted by the computer voice announcing the twenty minute mark. Now feeling a spirt of nervousness, he jumps off the rock and onto a small section, untouched by quick sand. He then sees a small bird, almost the size of his hand. It's body facing toward the ground, the ensign picks up the bird and notices it's wing has been badly damaged. Suddenly, he relizes that it's not humans he must save, it's animals. Now, almost as if they appeared out of know where he sees all of the different organelles which he must free from the terror of quick sand however, most of them were perfectly capable of freeing themselves. One was a monkey in a tree, the other a small cat; it's eyes not moving from the ensigns face.
The ensign thought, why would he have to save this animals, when they are not in harms way? The bird in his hand now vanished. A tumble was felt then, followed by a louder and shacking one. Soon they grew so loud and vicious that the earth itself began to crack. The ensign was trapped inside a treacherous earthquake.:: Ten Minutes to go, one being saved ::The computer voice shut off once more and the ensign rushed to save the future victims of the earthquake. He ran belligerently, passed a rock, over a ditch and into a mud puddle; falling into it. He pushed out hard and took a cat into his arms, which soon vanished just as the bird had.
Now seeing the monkey, the ensign grabbed a branch and began climbing the tree. The ensign was almost there, he could feel the monkeys fur on his fingertips, now outstretched he placed his right foot on another branch when the ground beneath shook, causing him to slip. He grabbed onto another branch, now hanging with one arm. The ensign then swung his left arm over and pulled himself up. With another rumble, he picked up the monkey and it too vanished. The ensign saw his next being; a small pup trapped in a ditch.
He ran fast and quickly, dodging cracks in the earths surface and reached the pit. He tied a vine to a tree next to the ditch and held on to it; sliding into the pit in which the pup was trapped. He stretched out his hand and reached for the golden fur ball but was interrupted once more, this time finding himself in a normal starship holodeck. The computer voice reciting the words which he heard almost every day at the academy: Training program Terminated, you failed to collect all beings in the time specified resulting in Program Termination.
::Soon after, the ensign left the holodeck, a sense of completion running through him. Even though he did not win the actual program, he now knows why and knows that he can reach that goal someday.::
