He looked up at the veiwer, a female coming on screen. He grunted to himself, having the feeling this female would be trouble. What female isn't? He wondered briefly
He listened to the instructions she gave to Dherack and then left the screen. He looked back to his control board before he is instructed to engage cloak after the first pass of the course "Hija, qaH. As you command."
He readied the cloaking device as the be' at Helm performed her tasks. He glanced at her as she spoke to him, informing him that the time has come to engage the cloak. He nodded, with an acknowleging grunt, then tapped a key, engaging the cloak. He looked to the screen for the results

So far the test was moving along well. He knew of no crew or ship that ever function perfectly. But this one would get as close to that as possible. His face wore an expression of complete concentration that hid the watchfulness that was just beneath the surface.

The ship cloaked and finished its run stopping with ease at the checkpoint. The order was given to uncloak, they sat there for a few minutes before the next set of instructions. They were to proceed to the second predetermined check point then wait.

The cloaked second circuit was completed and the bortaS glided to a full stop. In both runs he proved his response time and smoothness. She had the subtle vibrations and quirks of helm memorized she would use this to judge the health of the ships navigational systems.
As they came to a stop she turned and looked at tactical, for a split second. They had functioned well and she looked forward to many missions ahead of them.
"qaH', both runs are completed, and he has functioned as expected." A slight toothy grin would have been visible if she could be seen but her station disallowed that.

They moved, stopped, then moved again. Kev did not see the sense in such a test. The second time they were told to wait however, something appeared on his sensors. He took a moment to check the information and confirm, before reporting. "qaH, two drone sets, three each, in a standard "V" formation. One fore and one aft. Both armed and ready to fire. The set at our rear is older, three weeks out and structurally battered. The one in front only one week out."

They were informed that the ship would be on a test before the hunt that made her just grunt and nod at the staff member who picked up the comm. before handing out her own from of discipline for breaching procedure. The person who informed her was informed that they would be working on scrubbing the decking in one particular corner of the medical bay with nothing but their bear hand till it was clean enough to eat off of. That was to show that no one bypassed her authority even when dealing with communications.
She sent a text back up to the bridge that medical was ready seeing no need in disturbing the thought process of the beh (crew) that was up there. That was when she went about the daunting task of barking out orders to the medical staff to prepare for light wounded if the swuval (warrior) of the ship so choose to report them. If this ship was like any typical Klingon bird of prey all stations would remain manned and medical would be left dealing with the normal boredom of testing out each other’s skills through head butting and other past times that Klingons did while on duty between drills ran by their department head.
It took her all of five minutes to get restless and bark out the order to start treating the all of five people that they had in there and then to go back into the medical office or what passed for one and start the daunting task of making sure everyone had their shots and other things in order. As sometimes a warrior forgot such trivial things before reporting into a new assignment, and she wasn’t about ready to let one person’s negligence or forgetfulness compromise the entire ship.

"Kev, identify the lead drones in each group and the strength or weakness in each one. Send that to tactical."
"Divok reduce those drone numbers, they are to be disabled. Do not destroy them the Empire has plans for them. Begin to reduce them by taking out the weakest then move up in strength."
"Arishela, evasive pattern 7, assist Divok in his efforts."
"Kalore, maintain scans and keep him functioning well."

Kev scanned them in turn. Each drone was shielded and in each, shield strength also was an indicator of the degree of damage the drone had sustained structurally. He recreated their pattern three dimensionally, showing which were in the lead and sent the percentages to Tactical. Divok would be able to tell exactly how much force was required to disable each one. Kev wanted no accidents and no waste.

As soon as he heard the report on the V-formation drones on an intercept course, he brought weapons to bear, mostly phasers though
He glanced at the Ra'wi' as he gave instructions to disable the drones, not destroy "Hija qaH, by your command, I shall disable the drones"
His attention back to his tactical displays, he glanced to the readings sent over from Science. He quickly perused the data then tapped a few keys, adjust phaser output. He fired at the first drone, re-adjusted the phasers again, fired at the second drone, adjust power oputput a 3rd time, then fired again, disabling one set of drones
He then tapped another set of commands into the control board, bringing torpedos online. He took another glance at the readings, then his fingers tapped out a reconfiguration of 2 torpedos. He fired the torpedos, adjusting for the course changes pulled off by the be' at Helm, at the center of drones in the V shape formation. He looked up at the screen as the torpedos explode with enough force to take out the three drones. He grunts his satisfaction, then reports "Attack drones disabled, qah."

A grunt was his only acknowledgementas he drew more power from other systems tothe Science and, Tactical systems. Also he set the Computer to give Science priority as thhe sensors gathered data quicker with greater detail course he ghad to balance that with power to weapons.

She watch on her senors as the blips showed up one for each drone. As they come closer the proximity alarms activated. She heard the command, her fingers flying across the console tapping in the needed codes.
"Evasive pattern 7 on line and engaged qaH. Attack runs ready for use on your command."
The ship began to move keeping it just out of the range of fire. A few shots grazed the hull causing no concern not even a rock, or shutter could be felt.
She and Divok worked in unison not speaking to each but understanding the motions and movements of each other.

He watched the View Screen, and the members on the meH as the disabling of the drones began and then ended. He nodded his satisfaction at the way the beq' handled the orders. It was of course a disappointment that they would not receive the honor of destroying the drones. Perhaps next time.
The drones redundant systems came to live and the drones began crawl and limp out of view. He knew the next part of the test would not begin until the drones were gone and the recordings were checked. D'herack also knew the next part would be more challenging.
Now that the last one was visibly gone he stood, pacing for a minute then saying in a loud voice. "majQa' (Well done). Know that the test will become more difficult as it progress. Be ready."

She was taken aback slightly from the ra'wl'pu (pu=s for a plural) outburst. But smiled slightly knowing the next one may not come for months. But make a mistake and you will get his attention immediately, such is the Klingon way.
She was restless and if in her power would make the next part of this test arrive sooner then later.

He paced the meH for another minute and then sat in his command chair. A seat he was getting accustomed to and its fit seemed tailor made.
D'herack never considered command before the last few years. In the past, he took great pride in his abilities as a warrior and looked no further. Then perhaps, it was the passage of time that gave the push to achieve more. And now here he was, at a crossroad. He sat froward once again as if willing the next phase to begin.
