Deborah Vasset walked in and then had the computer state the scenario. As she listened her mind already began to think imagine the creature it describe and then shook her head at all the infinite diversity there was in the universe.
"Computer in a verbal answer form."
All living creatures require food and since this one lives in the vacuum of space its food would have to be engry. The most logical course of action is to find a way to make the menu less tasty.
Therefore by modulating the frequency of the engry we would find the one that the creature finds the least desirable. It would then leave by its own desire.
We would of course inform Star Fleet command of the creature and any information we could gather. Then send out a general communication to all ships in the area informing them of the situation and what steps to take.
end scenario
With this she turned and left the holodeck

Inid entered the holodeck and then listened as the computer stated the scenario. After listening to it she nodded and then smiled. This was very familiar to her back at the academy this ship log of the Enterprise caught her attention and she read it several times.
Computer answer format.
The creature is feeding on the energy of the ship, by altering the energy the creature would find us distasteful and leave.
I would then inform Star Fleet command and send a general hail to all ships in the area. Giving them the information they needed in the event they ran across the creature.
Computer end format................
She turned and then walked out.

"If I only have 24 hours I Will have a team looking for a bigger power source then my self. I would then set course for it, only if it is within the 24 window. If not I would shut down all systems. Send out a shuttle with full power and have it make a run away from the ship at it's fasts speed. Once the thing was off from me and away I would then power the ship back up and go right to warp to get away from it"

:: the Marine grunts at this scenario but approaches it logicially:: well for starter science and ops tell me waht this thing eats exactly. after taking in all the data i would logicially shift the frequenty of my shields and warp core out put thinking the sour its milk a bit testing each new setting in a variable pattern tillI foundteh right mix to shake it of course in the zero hour theres always an emergency saucer seperation and evac in the battle bridge protecting the weapon and warp systems :shrugging: or your could always neutralize the threat: computer end scenario: clearing his throat as that one left a bitter taste in his mouth:

I would first have my Science officer and ops try to determine if the creature is sentient. If it was I would try to establish communications with the creature and explain that its feeding would kill the ship and all aboard. If the creature was not sentient or I could not communicate with it I would find out what the creature was feeding upon.I would try everything to make the ship less tasty. If that did not work I would be forced to consider the ship and its crew first.I would use my crew to find out what was lethal to the creature.I would give it a small dose trying to persuade it to let go.If it did not get the message I would increase the dosage until the creature let go or died. This may seem cruel but the ship and the mission must come first.

::Zandile enters the holodeck.:: Computer, Begin program and describe the scenario. ::After the computer finished, Zandile smiles::
"As many others have doubtless recognized, this scenario is very similar to what happened a few years ago on the USS Enterprise," ::she said aloud to the holographic crew. She smiled as she remembered Geordi La Forge describing the Enterprise's 'Space Baby' when she had served on the Enterprise. She turned back to the crew.:: "They removed the creature by changing the ship's energy frequency."
However, if this course of action does not succeed, plan B would be to cut of the energy supply to the creature. The area of the ship where the creature is drawing energy will be evacuated and totally powered down. Hopefully, the creature will leave when it can't draw energy anymore. To lure it off after this, a probe emitting energy signals would be launched, and the creature will follow it.
"Computer, end program and save," ::said Zandile as she left the holodeck.""

::Ensign Baccus entered the holodeck and listened to the parameters for scenario 7::
Computer, Begin Scenario
::To the chief engineer:: Shut down all systems except auxiliary life support on decks 1 through 5.
::To the Ops officer:: Evacuate all crew members to decks 1 though 5.
::The ships systems are shut completely down, except life support. After 7 hours of not getting any energy, the Creature leaves and searches for an alternate source of energy. The ship remains shut down for 3 extra hours, to ensure the creature time to get away, then power is restored, and we go back on our merry little way.::
Computer, End Program

I would try to get OPS and Science to see if the creature was sentient.if it was I would try to communicate with the creature and let it know it was destroying the ship and its crew.if it was not sentient or I could not talk to it or it simply did not care i would tell engineering to reverse the energy flow frequencies until the ship became unappetizing to the creature.Once it let go I would drop a warning buoy and let Star fleet know such a creature exists and was in the area.

By souring the milk, as they call it, you can make the power signature of the ship unpallable to the creature.

::he steps onto the bridge after being briefed:: Ops> Report!
Ops>CO> sir, its draining our energy, all of it sir Co> How long do we have Ops> 24 hours... Maybe Co> Shut down all power except for life support, the weapons, the warp drive, everything
::ops shuts down the power systems, and the alien detaches from the stardrive section, but remains attached to the life support systems on the Primary saucer::
Ops> He's detached from the warp hull, but he life support is failing Co> Time ensign, how long? ops>an hour, maybe 2
Co> All hands this is the captain, evacuate to the stardrive section, This is not a drill, Double time people, I repeat, evacute the saucer, this is an emergency <Bridge crew> you're with me :: gets in the TL with his helmsmen ops officer and chief of security:: Deck 8, battle bridge, within a half hour of arriving at the battle bridge all decks on the saucer report clear :: Prepare for emergency saucer seperation, but first, <ceng> chief, change the power differential in those life support systems to point 01cm and prepare for maximum warp<ops> Prepare for an emergency system restart<helm> plot a course out of here.... and engage as soon as we're clear
::as the power differential is changed the alien releases from the life support power couplings <ops> bring it back up..... helm, engage.. ::the hologrid appears and he stands and walks out::

::Mac looks puzzled as he reviews the scenario. The most logical choice would be to see if he can get an alternative energy source for this creature to feed upon. He would see if his SCI and OPS could rig a device possibly a shuttle, that throws off a huge energy spike. He would then have the shuttle on autopilot head away from the ship, as he gives the order to reduce power aboard the ship. The idea would be to have the shuttle generate more power for a few seconds then the ship, as to appear more appetizing to the creature. If the creature takes the bait he would then evacuate the area ASAP as fast as the ship allows. If the creature doesn't take the bait, then he would try to find a way to alternate the flow of power of the ship, hoping to give the creature a bad taste in its mouth.

Seeing the creature latching to the hull, and hearing reports that there is an energy drain from the ship, he tries to reach the creature telepathically.
In the event of a failure of that route, he has Science start analyzing the energy signatures that are being drawn from the ship. And find a way to change the signatures if possible, if it were a system that could not be shut down completely until the creature had detached itself, or left.
Also, as another back up contingency, he has a shuttle modified to project an intense energy signature to lead the creature away from the ship, while having TAC establish a course that would take them through a nearby nebula that showed signs of intense energetic signatures, similar to the Ship.
Once the creature is pried off, it would then be led, via the shuttle decoy to another food source.
