You are commanding a Galaxy Class Starship called the 'Britannia'. While out on a deep space exploration mission you encounter a Strange creature in open space. It is bigger than your ships' saucer section. Its body and tendrils are composed greenish biological energy matrixes. The creature attaches itself to the hull and is siphoning off energy from the ship. You have the resources that are aboard any standard Galaxy Class starship. The nearest help is a week away and your ship will be completely dead in 24 hours. What do you do?

Cpl. Stryker Walk's into the holodeck and listen's to the scenario.
Since there isn't very much time only 24 hour's i would begin to take scan's immediately of the entity to find any weaknesses. Under the Logical assumption that the creature feed's on the energy of the warpcore i would have the ship power down then eject the core. Again logically assuming the creature get's off and goe's fore the warpcore i would have the ship go to full impulse power. When we would reach relatively safe distance i would detonate the core. The resulting explosion will no doubt take the creature with it. Then i will just wait for help to arrive.

::walks in the holodeck:: I love galaxy class ships, Computer begin the sceanario
Hmm.. theres a few things I could try:
1. I use the warpdrive at full power to see if I can shake it off. 2. I send out fighter ships (Does it have fighter bays?) to destroy the thing 3. I do an emergancy saucer seperation and get everyone to a safe location 4. I use escape pods (last resort)

::He enters the holo deck with a smile on his face:: Computer! Begin Senario....
First I would do readings on the creature. Then I would try to convert all power to the Warp drive and get out of there. If that doesent work I would have the CMO develop a strain of poison, that way she could take a Transport shuttle out and inject it. I that doesent work I would contact star fleet command and request assistance and leave on evacuate the ship on escape pods or wait to see if a close by ship can get to our aid.
Computer! End Senario! ::He walks out of the room::

Commodore Kenneith Basal walked in and stood in the middle of the holodeck.
'Computer, begin scenario.'
The computer begun the scenario as he listened to it.
'I would change the engery frequency just a bit to change the energy flow. In other words, 'soar the milk'. This would give a bad taste in the creature's mouth and he would let go of the ship. Once it lets go of the ship and we quickly regain power to the warp engines to warp away from the creature. Then we would relay a message to the nearest ship and warn them of the creature. Hopefully they would help us to warn others about the creature in the area. Computer, end program.'
The program ended as he walked out of the holodeck.

Most space fairing creatures ingest energy at a certain frequency. By rotating, or changing this frequency, the alien might find the ship, unappetizing. Another possibity may be to feed the alien, an alternative energy source.

The best possible plan would be as stated before to change the engery flow of the ship itself to give the creature that is eating up the energy a sour taste. This would ofcourse be followed by multiple scans to locate a possible alternative source so the creature does not die from lack of food.

Lt Jr T'Lar walked into the holodeck and commence with the scenario. After she listened to the scenario, she spoke up.
'The best logical course of action to free Britannia from the creature is to have the engineers adjust the energy frequency to where it leaves a taste in the creatures one's mouth that is not much favorable. While the science officers find a source that the creature can attach itself onto. It is adviceable to contact Starfleet or the nearest ships about this creature. Computer, End program.'
Once the program ended, she exited the holodeck.

Marine Captain Andrus Elbrun walked into the holodeck.
'Computer, begin scenario.'
Once the computer begins the scenario, he stood back and listened. Then he spoke up.
'This happened once before on USS Enterprise, when Captain Picard was in command of that ship. Just readjust the energy frequency to where the energy flow leaves a bad taste in the creatures mouth. Then the creature would simply let go. Of course, the creature would need a new food source, so the SCI officers would quickly need to find a place that has sufficent amount of energy and lure the creature to it. Then the creature would attach itself to the new source. Freeing the ship from the creature and saving the creature's life at the same time.'
He ended the program and walked out of the holodeck.

Marine Captain Quinn Troi walked into the holodeck and began to listen to the scenario.
'There was a reported instances some decades back where a similar creature had attach themselves to a ship. All I have to do is to 'sour the milk' by simply changing the energy frequency. Most ships would have a spare shuttle on board, although small, but it would be sufficient for now to use. Simply have it set to launch out of the shuttle bay by auto pilot, towards a much better natural source that the creature can also attach itself to. The creature would be drawn to the energy flow of the shuttle and attach itself to it. Computer.. end program.'
The program ended as she walked out of the holodeck.

Ensign Kestra Elbrun made her way into the holodeck and began to listen to the scenario.
'I would simply change the energy frequency of the energy flow so that it would leave a bad taste in the creature's mouth. After the creature gets a mouth full of 'sour milk', it would let go and find another energy source to feed on.'
She ended the program and then walked out of the holodeck.

Sandra walked and took her usual position leaning against the bulkhead facing the doors, and then asked what the scenario was. Her arms folded, and she leaning back on the bulkhead. A smiled played against her lips, as she shook her head. Another Navy one, why am I not surprised.
Begin scenario....
She stood there thinking for a minute. Seems like the thing has attached itself to feed. The only thing I can think, of is to find a way to make it taste real bad. By altering the energy in someway.
A random thought comes to mind and she snickers knowing that would cause real problems if it was ever found out.
end scenario............
As she leaves she brakes out in wild giggles at what she was thinking.

Captain Dorius entered the holodeck, betting to herself that once again it will be Navy. ::softy laughs:: She listened to the specifics of the Scenario, and then remembered a similar incident on the Enterprise with Capt Kirk. He was one of her favorite historical figures and she read everything she could on him.
"Computer this will not be a live simulation. Answer format only. Begin"
The matrix of the holoroom remained as she began to to give her answer. We would alter the energy pattern slightly. Just enough to create a very unpleasant sensation for the creature. As with all living things it would choose to leave as its food began to taste more vile.
Once it left we would continue scans of the creature to gather as much information as possible. While sending out a communication to Star Fleet Command and to all ships in the general area. Including what to do in the event the creature wanted another feeding.
Computer end the session............
With that she turned and walked out.

Major Arishela listened as the computer gave the details of the scenario. There was something vaguely familiar concerning this creature.
She couldn't place where she heard it or read it at first. And then it was if a light went on in a darkened placed.
Computer I will simply answer this. There will be no need for a live holo-simulation.
The only way to remove this creature without causing harm to the ship is to force it to leave by creating a very bitter taste in its mouth.
Once it left, I as a Klingon would destroy it, however Star Fleet would find that inexcusable under its current directives. Therefore, I would have to allow it to leave safely, then notify Star Fleet command and all ships in the area.
end session............
Major Arishela then grumbles as walks out thinking what a mistake to allow such a creature to live.

::Cadet Anarra enters the holodeck and instructs the computer to begin the scenario. She listens and with a little thought decides on the proper course of action.:: I would first get ask for the opinion of my science officer since i am not well versed in that field. Then i would take what ever course of action that the suggest under advisment. I would also consult starfleet files to see if anything like this had ever happend. Doing this i would find that something like this had once happend on the Enterprise under the command of Captain Jean Luc Picard. Deciding that the two situations are too similar i would also try to change the frequency of the energy that the entity is ingesting to give it a bitter taste to the entitiy. If that didn't work or if it wasnt enough i would try to create or find another energy source that the entity would find more appealing than my ship. After getting free of the entitiy i would get far enough away so it would not come back. I would also send a message to Star Fleet letting them know of the situation and instructing my repair and engineering crews to fix any damage that the alien entity had caused to my ship:: Cadet Anarra finishes, please with her answer:: Computer end scenario. ::Anarra exits and heads off to her next duty shift.::
