"KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Ricardo Montalban, a Mexican-born character actor on both the small and big screens has died at the age of 88.
Star Trek fans will well-remember him as the villainous Khan Noonien Singh in the Star Trek episode "Space Seed" (TOS) in 1967, and later reprising that role in 1982 for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Khan was identified as the "absolute ruler" of more than 25% of planet Earth from 1992-1996, during the time period known as the Eugenics Wars.
Montalban's other notable roles include Mr. Rourke in the original Fantasy Island series, where he would help teach people a lesson about being careful what one wishes for, and to likewise help them see what they have in their reality, and perhaps what one fantasizes about may not bring them the joy they had hoped for.
Fans of Ricardo Montalban may also remember his appearances in the second and third installments of the Spy Kids trilogy as the grandfather of the kid spy main characters.
Ricardo had many other TV spots, including a car advertising commercial in the mid 1980s.
In Los Angeles, there is now a performing arts theater named after Montalban, as a fitting tribute to this wonderfol actor.
It can be said that Ricardo in real life was as proper as his Fantasy Island persona.
