I am happy to bring to you some various trivia items, fellow UF members. From here, I'll post trivia questions of varying difficulties for your enjoyment. The majority of the time, these questions will be based on either episodes or movies. If that is the case, I will give you the episode/movie that the question is based on.
I'll start with an intermediate question, based on the Original Series episode "Trouble With Tribbles"
=/\= In this episode, a type of grain is mentioned several times. Although Captain Kirk keeps referring to it as "wheat", what is it correctly known as?
If you think you know the answer, please post it below, but please, only one guess per person...

Quadrotriticale! (A form of Triticale engineered to grow on Sherman's Planet. Derived from triticale, which can be traced back to 20th century Earth.)

BINGO! Quadrotriticale is right on the money! And kudos for the extra description of the grain.
=/\= For you trivia buffs, regarding quadrotriticale, Spock said it was a four-lobed hybrid of what two Earth grains?
If you know the answer, please post below. And remember, trivia is open to EVERYONE, so please participate.

Very good, Ava. You must've been paying attention during the episode. Nice.
Let's see how well you really paid attention during "Trouble With Tribbles"
=/\= According to Spock, just how many tribbles were aboard Space Station K-7 after three days?
I'll give you all a hint with this one. I'm looking for a 7-digit figure, the exact one that was calculated by Spock.
Note: More than one person can respond to a question, so please don't be shy.

Both of you got the right answer! You really know the tribble episode well. It was 1,771,561. Either way you look at it, that's a LOT of tribbles. I think Dr. McCoy made an off-hand remark about believing that tribbles were born pregnant. Let me try another aspect from "Trouble With Tribbles".
=/\= You may recall that huge bar-fight scene on K-7. What was said that prompted the first punch, and who ultimately threw the first punch in the fight?
For a bonus, aside from the waitresses, who did NOT participate in the fight, but was in the bar, and what was this person doing in the bar during the fight?
For both parts , I ask that you be as detailed as possible with your responses. Good luck.

The first Punch was thrown by Mr Scott, Who later admitted it to Kirk.
During the fight, Cyrano Jones was helping himself to drinks.

Well.... let me see here... I have to give you each partial credit on the first question.
Ava, you were correct as to what prompted the first punch, and that was when Korax called the Enterprise a garbage scowl. He made the mistake of saying that around Scotty.
Ravin, as for throwing the first punch, you're correct. Very shortly after Korax said that the Enterprise "should be hauled away AS garbage," that's when Scotty was provoked into throwing that first punch, after which all heck broke loose.
As for the bonus question, Ravin got it right. Cyrano Jones was in the bar at the time the fight broke out, and was just as happily as can be looting the bartender's drink synthesizer for some kind of red beverage. If anyone really knows what drink that was, I'd really like to know for sure. I suspect it was some kind of wine or brandy, but I'd like to know for sure.
Ava, the bartender came in during the fight and took at least one glass of that red... 'cocktail' from Cyrano Jones. He had come in with the Enterprise security officers.
Now, time to leave the tribble episode alone for a while. Knowing me, it might come back up later..
"Balance of Terror" (TOS)
As you may recall, this was the first original series episode that was aired with the enhanced special effects work done on it.
=/\= At the very start of the episode, which two Enterprise crewmembers were preparing to get married, and which department did they work in?
Bonus: How well do you really know this episode?
=/\= Spock mentions a metallic substance used in the defensive shield of Earth Outpost 4 as being the "hardest substance known" to Federation science. Tell me what that material is.

1. Angela Martine and Robert Tomlinson.
2. The Substance Spock refers to as the "Hardest Substance known" is: Cast Rhodinium.

::Lifts an eyebrow in response to the clearly Federation oriented questions and adds her own side to the "balance"::
On the chart shown during the Enterprise's briefing the two Romulan homeworlds are shown. What are they called?
The Romulan Warbird was never given a name though we knew it's fleet standing. What was it's position?

Ravin, you're right on the names of the officers. However, what department were they both serving in?
As for the name of that metallic substance, the correct spelling is rodinium, however, very nicely done... I'll be honest, I wasn't sure anyone would get that one. I reached for one that I thought was an expert-level question, meaning a very high difficulty rating. Excellent work on that.
Now, to answer our Romulan's viewpoint on this episode...
The two worlds are Romulus and Remus as spoken, however, and I had to double-check the image in the episode to be 100% sure... The designation for Remus is Romii.
Would you be referring to the remark of one of the officers who referred to their bird-of-prey as the "Praetor's finest and proudest flagship"? That was mentioned by Decius.
