Shran thinks for a moment. "Perhaps the most effective way for you to learn Thir'shar would be for me to teach it to you. Growing up I had to learn many forms of martial arts so as to live up to what was expected of me.
"My rank in Thir'shar currently is novice maser." His antennae wilt slightly in embarrassment. "Though it is not as high as sage master or strike master, I do have the ability and standing to pass on what I know. I would be more than happy to instruct you if you are willing."

"I am a master, just the lowest rank of master. If I was not I could not teach you, tradition forbids it." He took a sip of his raktajino and placed the empty glass back down on the table.

She sat there listening to the men talk. There wasn't much for her to say. What she learned was what Terrans called street fighting, and then hand to hand in the Militia. But not nearly as extensive as they had. But she could hold her own.
She sipped at her wine, nursing it.

he looks at Shran "you'll have to explain the ranks to me I like to learn as much about the art I am training in" he says
Looks to Indi "You have been very Quite is everything OK Ma'am" he asks "what styles of fighting do you now Ma'am" he then asks

He imitates a human smile. "The rank system is complicated. Anyone who begins starts as an Abecedarian, and then progresses to Novice Apprentice then a Learned Apprentice, and from there the ranks branch off depending upon the form which you choose to follow. In order to become a Novice Master you must adequately learn two forms of Thir'shar."
His antennae wilt slightly in embarrassment. Shran feels that familiar comfortableness that comes from talking about himself. "I have specialized in Zheusal form and Charaleas form.
"Zheusal is the most basic fighting form. It is comprised mostly of punches and kicks. It works the best when fighting from your feet. Charaleas is a bit more advanced it is the form of cunning. It teaches mostly how to use one's opponent's strikes against them though countering and weight displacement."

Then Looking at Indi "Don't you think so Ma'am" says with a smirk

"It is very challenging," agrees Shran with a nod, "though I have learned many human forms of martial arts that can be as equally challenging."

Shran nods solemnly. "Perhaps it is the deep quiet of concentrated mind. Heavy are the thoughts of the strongest shoulders."

After leaving the captain's ready room, he makes his way to Ten Forward, and finds a corner table from which to watch the crew. Though it is deactivated for the time being, he still desires to learn the human mannerisms enough to reactivate his emotion chip.
While he observes, he also is running through the last few days of his memories, still seeking the reason behind his emergency shut down. Very much like a sudden illness, but with much greater scope to the results. His engineer "Doctor" had been baffled by the reason for the shut down as well.

"Yes, hes been with us for awhile. He had mechanical problem and had to be sent to his creator I think to be fixed. Its nice to see him back."
"As to the style of fighting I use. I was taught a style that would be considered Bajorian Marital Arts. But mainly I know street fighting, and the kind of fighting you learn to use to survive in labor camp."
"I really don't like fighting but will if I have to."

His antennae twitch at the sight of the artificial being, not quite sure what to make of such a construct before returning his attention to the conversation.
"Agreed, Captain. Martial Arts is not about fighting. In fact the first lesson in most forms of combat is how to avoid a fight altogether. For Andorians fighting is spiritual and ritualistic. It helps keep us focused and reminds us of who we are as a people."

Listens to the conversation going on around him, running the processes serving for his judgement.
"If I may interrupt, I would like to state that all forms of know Martial Arts, except for those learned by the Klingons is used to prevent actual combat."
