Shran sips his raktajino and listens to the other two as they talk. "I visited Bajor during my Academy days. It is quite beautiful. The Holana River was especially peaceful. Your home is truly an extraordinary place, Captain." He spreads his antennae, thinking of an old memory.

"I have never been to Holana River, it must be extraordinary. I was not born on Bajor, nor was I raised there. We did not return until a few years after the occupation ended." She looks down, a few tears form in her eyes, she quickly blinks them away. Then reaches for her spring wine, to give herself the needed few seconds to regain her composure.
"I hope to see Holana River this visit."

Shran looks from one than to the other as they talk. He drains the rest of his beverage placing it in front of him. He turns his head toward the Bajoran curious as to her response.

"I was born on a shuttle, or star ship no one knows for sure. We were told we were not on Bajor and never would be. That we were on Cardassia IV, in the labor camp Hutet. It was there that I was raised."
"Then when I was 16, we were transfered to another labor camp. That was the first time I was on Bajor. The name of the camp was Gallitepp, after an accident there I was exposed to Kallo-Nohra." As the memories flood back she looks down and fights the impulse to cry, or fight. Something anything.
She looks away for minute, then to no one and everyone. "I hate only one person, Gul Darhe'el for the things he allowed and the....... Sorry."

Shran thinks for a moment watching both of his companions avert their eyes from one another. He speaks as his eyes unfocus. "I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again."
He imitates a human smile as he refocuses his gaze on the Bajoran. "I read that somewhere, and it is as true now as it was when it was written. All bad things must end. Even suffering heals, and you will too." He holds the smile as looks at the Marine Captain.

"During the Summer we would go to a small town called Buffalo West Virgina were my folks are from, its a beautiful place" His smile brightens at the memories
he laughs "Me and Jenny Jo would pick wild Blue berries when they were in season, none ever made back to the house"

He fiddles with his empty mug. "Earth is a planet of much beauty. It is perhaps the most peaceful place I have ever been to. I can see why it is considered the jewel of the Federation. I have always enjoyed my time there, however, it will never replace the feelings I have for my home, Andoria."

She listens to them knowing she will never have the fond memories they have of a home world. For her, its a POW Labor Camp, where you awoke at dawn at break rocks for the minerals they contained, until dusk.
The children were allowed a few hours for games and instructions. But this luxury would be removed for the slightest infraction. She knew pain, hunger, thirst, work before school age.
"You both are very lucky to have firm roots of your birth place. It is something I will never know, but I am hoping that as an adult I will form a deep connection to Bajor."

Shran raises his antennae in amusement. "Cold, mostly... but it is quite beautiful.." He looks wistful as he speaks. "There is a spot on Shayel Island where the sun strikes the eastern ice spires in the evening and the light splits in a spectacular spectrum of crimson and deep violet...
"During typhoon season the atmosphere ionizes and the sky looks almost crystalline." He looks to the human. "I suppose there is nothing quite as appealing as one's own homeworld."
