She hears Lt. Col Hall over her combadge and then taps her Badge. " Nothing new to report sir I'm waiting for Major Aniri to see what see wants to do next." She had a few ideas of what she wanted to do but she did not think Major Aniri would approve.

Lexi} ::She stands at the view port in her ready room looking at the new U.S.S. PHOENIX Commodore Ruiz's ship. she hears the door chime.:: Enter. Commodore Ruiz} ::The Commodore walks into the ready with a PADD under his arm and waits for a salute::: When the Commodore walked into Lexi's ready room she took an instant dislike to him. He was above average height about 6'2". His temples were gray and he was balding but making and effort to hide it. He looked like a man that had once prided himself in his physical attributes because his arms and shoulders looked like they had been pushed enough to once have definition. He also had the signature 'spare tire' for men his age. The thing that put her off was his arrogant air. He practically strutted into the room. It was like he already were holding the high cards before the hand was dealt.:: Lexi} ::She turned to face him and saluted him.:: Sir welcome aboard the Tarawa. Commodore Ruiz} ::Salutes her:: Thank you Colonel ::sits down::I see you are recovering nicely Lexi} ::She drops her salute and takes a her seat.:: Yes the crew has vorked hard over the last 4 days. I also owe the Klingons for there help as vell. Vith out their help you be examining our debris field. Commodore Ruiz} Yes, we had to call in a few favors for that one. Once it was apparent that you were not going to stay. Lexi} ::She looked at him with a look of disbelief.:: We Sir? It was my exchange officer LCpl M'kota who got Fleet Captain Mudj who is part of her family to help us. Or is that the story you told Command. Even vhen I told you ve vould stay and hold this planet after you gave me the option to leave. Commodore Ruiz} Well after all of your family connections the klingons being that they wasted resources in the battle demanded compensation from the Federation. A little lesson to you young commander. Everything that happens is political. Lexi} Was it political to give me the option to leave these people and for get about general order 20? Commodore Ruiz} One, this was not a UFP world. Second, those pirates were not taking hostages what they were doing is taking resources those people had the option to vacate the planet or did an evac plan not get discussed in meeting. This was a Marine op, hit first and count the bodies after. Lexi} ::She raised an eye brow:: Taking resources? :: She turns her computer terminal to him.:: According to your geological survey of this planet 12 years ago you reported that this planet has no resources of any type. Also this may not be a UFP world but it is in Federation space. Commodore Ruiz} I'm not going to argue the point with you. I will leave that to an official board of inquiry should the matter come to them. I will say that the decision made to no longer render aid went higher than me. I do not command the entire fleet. The bottom line is that I see a young commanding officer that lost a lot of people on a judgment call. Its easy to point fingers and look for some hidden 'evil' to blame but no one ordered you stay. It was your decision so each death is your responsibility. Lexi} ::She gives him a cold look.:: No you don't command the fleet but this was your operation. Let me tell you my theory, You knew this planet had abundant resources. You sent me here hoping I would run. Giving you the authority to move these people. but when I told you I would stay that put a wrench in your plan. Funny how after we talked the Pirates came at us in full force. But its only my theory and you right it was my call to stay and your right each death was my responsibility. And when the inquiry comes we will both have much to answer for. Those who died, died to protect an innocent people who were about to be taken from there home by one man's greed can you live with that? Commodore Ruiz} I remind you that though you are on the Marine side I still outrank you and if you are going to hurl accusations at me you better have more than a smart mouth and an over inflated sense of moral outrage. Because I don't command fleet, but I can have an affect on what happens to your career from here so have a care. Lexi} After all that has happen you think I care about my career? I have sent my report to Command with the geological survey of this planet my science officer did along with yours. And I'm sure they will be interested in talking with the pirates we have. Commodore Ruiz} So this is what your answer is? I've tolerated your abusive behavior and your accusation for one reason: You suffered a loss. The first as a command officer, and you are smarting. I would have hoped your first duty would be to your crew and their families and making sure they were aware of what they were fighting for and not allowing the loss to affect their confidence in you. Those are the things that Commanders do. We worry about our crews first. whether this was a problem with an outside force or whatever investigation you feel should be done is not your place, and if you pursue it the way you are the only thing command is going to see is a young officer throwing a temper tantrum because she smarting from a bloody nose. That report will go unread, but if it makes you sleep better you send it. As far as your prisoners go, I've already gotten orders from Starfleet Command that I will be transporting them personally back to Earth where they will be formally charged and interrogated. Lexi} ::She stood up from her desk and leaned over it looking him in the eye's.:: Walk out of this room while you still can sir. Commodore Ruiz} He stood up and smiled at her as if looking at a cute child get angry. You and this crew put up and admirable fight against overwhelming odds, but don't think it means you are all knights in shining armor. While you are not worried about your own career perhaps you might consider theirs. :: He stands up and turns to leave then stop at the door :: You tend to your wounded Colonel, they are the ones that need protecting now. Good day. Lexi} ::As he walked out she knocked her computer off her desk and fell back into her chair.::((OOC:: A very special thanks to Captain Blackledge for his help in this post. A very good bad guy. ))

You don't get orders and make arrangements as fast as he did vithout help and if thats the case this is gun fight and right now ve only have a knife...... Thank you Davis vill you see that ve have all our new crew and supply's and ordnance. I like to put as much distance between the PHOENIX and us as soon as possible."
