Commanding Officer log Stardate: 65684.83
It's been a day since the last battle with the Pirate force we took many casualties and moderate damage to the ship. I've ordered a geological survey of the planet call it a hunch but there is something more here than slaves for the pirates to engage us with such a force. I vould like to add that my crew faced this situation vith the up most valor. They kept true to the Tarawa's motto While we breathe, we shall defend. End log........

Captain Kirk was quoted as saying ;A no-win situation is a possibility every commander may face. Yet he passed it by changing the conditions of the test. I had no such luxury I never took the Kobayashi Maru test until now and my crew paid the price of my learning experience, and the cost is more than I could bear.
When your a fighter pilot you know what you have to do. Commanding a fighter wing you know your people have the same chance you do. You only have to worry about an enemy pilot being better than you. Commanding a Starship with so many people under your command.......vell it's a terrible thing being the person sending your troops into combat.
It had been strongly suggested that we abandon the colony. That vas something I just could not do. I broke my own rule and started to give a frack.........End log......

Personal log Stardate: 65744.86
Did I have the right to jeopardize my crew, my ship for what I believe. No Marine achieves a Command without being a hard charger, or exercising some personal initiative. Or am I doing as Commodore Ruiz said smarting from a bloody nose and trying to find a way to justify what happen. Am I letting the horrors of the past week distort my judgment of the present?
Intuition tells me there is more going on back on than we know. I have never felt so out of my league....End log....

(( The following is a coded message sent to Lexi's former CO Captain Cooper of the U.S.S. Monitor.))
Captain Cooper,
I may have gotten in over my head on the Tarawa's last mission also I am sending you some information to look over, I was also wondering what you can tell me about Commodore Ruiz. Please contact me A.S.A.P. I really could use your help.
Lexi.
She thought it best to keep it short and simple in case someone intercepted her message.
