Written OOC: Hello all, As I'm sure you've noticed, we've seen to come to a stand still posting wise. I'm affraid I must admit that I've been unable to contact Captain Harsting via personal email or PM for over a month; I was hoping that someone had heard from him, but this has not been the case. However, if someone has, please let me know! This being the case, it is my intention, both as the 'soon to be' Executive Officer and currently highest ranking officer aboard the Terrasect, to try and get everyone posting again and the story moving forward (albiet in a slightly different direction, not by much, as I had yet to have my first meeting with Jim regarding where he wanted this story to go). But how to continue though, I'm looking for the crew's opinion. Since this is not 'my ship' nor 'my board', I have no right and no intention on hijacking it, however I truly believe that Jim would have no problem with it moving forward while we try and figure out what to do next. I have this 'poll' open for 5 days, it will then close and we'll procceed with what we decide; I've made sure to leave an option to 'wait it out'. Information will be kept private and nobody will be penalized regardless of what option they chose. I think it is important to note, that at no time is it being considered that any changes would be permenant; if Captain Harsting returned tomorrow, we'd immediately continue under his command. Thank you for your time and hopefully we'll all be seeing a lot more action and movement on the boards. Best speed and safe sailing to all. Lt. Cmdr. Samuel J. Grant Cheif of Security / Acting First Officer USS Terrasect

I say we get it going again, And I'm the half that like you Ann:) I understand the CO is not around most likely RL issues, but the Sim should go on. Just my opinion, please bare with me, if you explain something takes time for it to work into my brain.
All new Command the CO/XO would be temporary that's understandable and the moment Jim returns he retakes Command

looks amused at Buford's comments toward Ann "You know how I feel already, Ann"
"Of course, Buford. Both Grant and I know this. We do not wish to take the center seat from Captain Harsting. This is strictly his ship"

I had voted to "wait on the Captain" because the Captain knows where this sim was going or should go. But in the mean time while we are waiting I do think we should start a "side sim" to keep us busy while waiting. Maybe our "First Officer-to-be" could be in command or in charge of this mission. One could say that the Captain got sick, secret mission, or maybe kidnapped. Some excuse for the Captain not to be there and someone else would be in comand. Even a shuttle sim would be good. It would also show the Captain that MR. GRANT can handle things if there were a sim that the Captain vanished or some reason the Captain had to leave, like on a LOA or something more perament. Of course I am only an Ensign but and this is only a thought but it is what he asked for. BTW I do love Kate and Ann.

Yes, as I mentioned, this is by no means a forum ‘Coup d'etat’ as I have no intention to take over the Terrasect now, or ever. Jim has been too good to me via this board and the simming experience for me to ever betray that trust. Any changes or ‘bends’ to the story would be temporary and the only reason for it is to keep the sim moving; to keep the crew ‘interested’ and simming.
Everyone’s opinion matters, I was hoping to get everyone’s suggestions and thoughts to see what the simmers thought on the situation. Hence why I said that ‘nobody will be penalized regardless of what option they choose’; as again, this isn’t my ship nor do I intend to make sweeping changes and run with. I figured we’d use a democratic system to see where we all stood, as we all have an equal and yet vital role in what we do next.
Regarding the current reply’s:
Ann:
The story, as far as your ‘side story’, will be continuing, I was more referring to the overall ‘advancement’ of the story; regardless of what people think of you… *smiles*. You’re just a ‘lighting rod’ for adrenaline, testosterone and fighting… I’d hate to see what happens with you in a bar in RL…
Lt. Hound:
“The half that likes you…” *laughs* even talking about the future of the Terrasect, Ann’s still the center of attention. *bursts out laughing*
Lt. Cmdr. Grabfoot:
And Ann again… *laughs* But seriously, you are absolutely correct, nobody here wants to do anything to the Terrasect or Jim and hope that both will be alright; however I do believe that he’d want the crew to go on should something happen. The minute he returns, the side stories will be fairly quickly ended (yet make sense) and we’ll be under his command again. *still laughing*
Ensign Zabdiel:
When Jim informed me that he had selected me to eventually take the Executive Officer position, we had scheduled a ‘meeting’ to discuss the story and where it was headed, this was only a few days after the announcement was made; unfortunately this never occurred and I haven’t heard from him sense. Correctly so, the idea is to (if we should decide to do so) have the Captain incapacitated and move forward. But please don’t misunderstand me when I say ‘move forward’, unless directed otherwise by UF Command, anything we do will ‘not’ ‘complete’ the mission for this planet, asteroid or the slipstream trip to the new colony (as I don’t know the facts behind Jim’s story). I thought we were passed it, but nope… Ann again… *laughs*.
Fleet General J. Weslynes:
I wanted to let everyone know that I have been in contact with UF Command regarding our situation also, so that all our bases are covered. I hope to be meeting with her in the next couple days. I will keep everyone posted.
Thanks to everyone for their opinion and responses, it's good to see how good of a crew we really are. Please feel free to continue to post comments, questions, concerns, etc.
Lt. Cmdr. Samuel J. Grant Chief of Security / Acting First Officer USS Terrasect

Ann, I wouldn't say your not liked, on the contrary. I like you, meaning the mun. I just think it may take time for the characters to get to know each other. And I look forward to both Ann and Colina getting to know each other.
If you have any questions on Colina ask me.
As for the sim. I think we could do the side sl's or possibly a side mission that would be apart form the current sl. And without saying or questioning the sim is Jim's and when he returns it goes back to his more then capable hands.
I sincerely hope that all is well with Jim.

"If you had not asked Buford, I'd have you stop by for a exam. If you were truely a canine in the sense of Earth species I would, but as it stands now, I cannae. Since your a member of a sentient race it would be wrong." she laughs

Alrighty crew, it seems those who will be responding have done so. I'm currently in the process of confirming the next steps of the Terrasect with Fleet General J. Weslynes, short of any unforseen hazards, we should be simming again by Tuesday 4/29/08. Prior to Tuesday (as I'll be writting them monday night), please make sure to check your PM's, as I may have some necessary 'actions' that particular characters will have to make to make the Sim start moving again. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me or PM me. I'm generally on a computer 7 days a week and easily able to post 5 nights a week. Alright crew; Dismissed!
