Sick bay
"That may be so, and alls good for your people. But, your not home, your here and adjustments must be made. I know its hard, its hard for me too."
"Unfortunately cause there be only one of you, the majority must be taken into account. And ya know your doing well at adjusting. I need to get work we have injured here."
"Now will ya be cooperating or must I sedate you, and we both know thats not what ya want. Ok, lets compromise, you rest for an hour and if your life signs are still stable ya can leave. Is that a deal?

"Very good, Lt Hound. You have the bridge until myself or Grant gets up there" He heard the pain in the canine officers voice and thinks he should get out of sickbay as quick as he could, so Buford can get his injuries taken care of
He heard the doctor's response to him and his whiskers twitched involuntarily
"I know I am not in the comforts and discomforts of home and change is inevitably hard, especially when certain things are taught to you to be normal, it is not normal in other places"
He then nods, reluctantly agreeing to the proposed hour that the doctor set for him to rest "I agree to your hour, Doctor. I shall stay here and rest, then return to the bridge to send down one more patient"
As he lay back down, he thought one good thing would come of his staying in sickbay: He could stay and talk to Jadzia more, if she is willing to speak with him

First part of this is a back post Sorry real life went into a tail spin for a few days.
Back post
She smiled at the feline and then walked out. She went over to the CO. The bio bed had the results of his last scan. He had an injury to his temporal lobe, along with other minor injuries. She tested him using the critia for the Blantyre Coma Scale. His was a 4 out of 5, she would watch him for for now. His coma was very slight, she expected him to wake within a day at the most.
She used a osteogenic stimulator to repair the skull fracture. She also had a BCP done (mapping of the brain circuity pattern) which showed no damage or loss of a pattern that was essential.
Using a hypospray she injected Corophizine (fight infection), Hydrocortilene (pain killer). And a dermal regenerator for the minor abrasions. She left orders and then went to her next patient.
She went over to a new patient she had never seen before. Looking at information she had, and it was scanty to say to least this was Grants sister. She read the bio scans and then decided on a treatment plan.
She began by administrating a neuroelectric suppressor (Used for suppression of abnormally high pain levels) caused by the extensive radiation burns. She cleansed the burned areas, and used dermaline gel. She then administered nor-epinephrine for the radiation and kayolene as a sedative. Making sure her vitals were stabilized she left and went on to treat the other patients.
Current posting brings this up to date
She went to check on the feline and his vitals were stable. "I suppose ya want to be leaving now. Well, what are you waiting for? Git going." she laughed softly.
It was a hectic few days and now it was calm once again. Almost all of the patients were discharged. She went to Grants bio bed. While she was reading his vitals his eyes opened and he looked at her.
"Well now," she smiled. "its bout time ya woke up. Leaving all the work to the others. Your sister is doing nicely and should be awake in a few hours herself."

Sick bay
Just as expected, Grants sister Jadzia woke up. Colina was called in and she read the data stream on her bed. She looked at Jadzia.
"Looks like your fine. I would like you to stay here and get a little rest before you get up."

Samuel looked at Colina, through forced open eyelids, his ever present smile missing “Thanks Doc.” He said shortly. He was sore from head to toe, and his head pounded, which he attributed to the telepathic message. “How much longer before this headache passes and I can go?” he asked.
Sam had nothing against the doctor, or her orders, but just didn’t like being in Sickbay. It wasn’t helping that all he could think about was Ann, the fact that she left. He was surprised, in a way, of how bad he did feel. He never told Ann he loved her, and they’d spent the last several days fighting and riding an emotional roller coaster that he wasn’t sure if he’d make it off of.
After hearing Doctor MacAuley’s answer, he nodded slowly, and rolled back over and closed his eyes. He’d rest a bit more while he was waiting to be discharged.

“Well, I’m sure your confident about your abilities and all” she began, referring to Grabfoot’s rebuke to her regarding her brothers aggressive tendencies “but I’m a betting girl and even I wouldn’t take those odds…” she let out a little giggle that’d been known to instantly cause men to break out fighting, just in an effort to talk to her.
Jadzia looked up from the PADD she was reading as Doctor MacAuley entered the room. She was feeling better, although horribly ‘sunburned’, but aside from a bright pink lieu to areas of her exposed skin she felt normal. “Is that a recommendation or an order Doctor?” she inquired.
“As you know, the ships taken a lot of damage and suffered a good number of casualties, I’d like to get to work as soon as possible.” She tucked her long black hair behind her ears “Course, your call Doc.”
She looked back at her brother, she hadn’t seen him like this in a long time, the most she could recall was this was reminiscent of when he’d broken off his engagement with Jennifer. At least that’s what her father had said when he’d told her of Samuel’s decision.

Grab Foot listened to Jadzia's response and then heard her giggle in humor. His ears quivered a bit and his tail spiraled into a small helix, liking the sound of her giggle. He wondered for a brief moment what a full tail spiral ( full laugh ) would sound like coming from her, then dismissed that thought
Confidence in one abilities is good, in my opinion, as long as doesn't lead to over-confidence. Not enough confidence can be bad as well. Both can lead to.. a less than favorable conclusion. Hesitation in making a decision or rushing headlong into a situation can both lead to someone dying. Of course, caution is also recommended".
As he continued to talk with Jadzia, time slipped by more quicker and before he knew it, the doctor came back over and checked his vitals, then speak to him "I suppose ya want to be leaving now. Well, what are you waiting for? Git going." then she laughed softly
Grab Foot spiraled his tail in humor as he sat up, then feigned a wounded expression "First you tell me to stay, Doctor then you tell me to "git going". Here I was, starting to think you were liking my company and now you shoo me off" He chuckle-hissed in humor, nudging the good doctor in the shoulder as he had seem most humans do when they are joking around with each other
He then stood and went over close to where Jadzia sat near her sibling. "I had a pleasure speaking with you, Jadzia Grant." He used the feline custom of using one's full name unless instructed otherwise "I am hoping that we will have more time to talk and other places then besides here in sickbay" He spiraled his tail into more of a helix. This is his way he wished to see her more
He then turned to Sam, in attempt to cheer him up "I know I'm most likely sticking my tail in a slice-bills nest but I am sure you will see Ann again someday, Mr. Grant." He went by that theory as well when Kate had took her from the Terrasect the first time, which is one thing that kept him going. Now he hoped to instill that to Grant to get him back on his feet

Jadzia listened as the good Doctor and Grabfoot exchanged ‘jabs’ back and forth, she just sat back and shook her head, still reviewing the PADD she had with her. As Grabfoot walked up next to her, she gave him an odd look. "I had a pleasure speaking with you, Jadzia Grant." He used the feline custom of using one's full name unless instructed otherwise. Jadzia looked back “I’m sure the pleasure was all yours…” she said, in a tone of voice that had no description. "I am hoping that we will have more time to talk and other places then besides here in sickbay" He spiraled his tail into more of a helix. This is his way he wished to see her more.
She raised an eyebrow, much the same as her brother would, then let out another giggle, this time almost as if she was uncomfortable but she had excellent control of herself “Well you’re pretty straight forward aren’t you?” she said “Most guys ask to buy me dinner or a drink even, here you are asking me directly to your quarters, or my quarters...” she shook a corrective finger at Grabfoot. “You sure do move fast don’t you…” she laughed again, and shrugged.
After a moment, she said “We’ll see, after things calm down a bit.” She smiled, and looked back down at her PADD; her long black hair falling from behind her ears again, she put it back.
As Grabfoot leaned over to talk to Sam, Jadzia was already moving, she swore Sam was going to reach up and with one simple twist, break the cat’s neck right there in Sickbay; in front of everyone. The act was not beyond him, as he was known for his temper. Just as Grabfoot finished speaking, Jadzia reached down with her arms and pulled Grabfoot up, and backwards, although her size was much less the Grabfoot's. To her surprise, and horror in its own way, Samuel didn’t even more…
She looked, as she knelt down, at Samuel’s eyes and they looked almost blank. “Oh, this can’t be good…” she figured that part of his issues was medically related, something to do with the ‘telepathic’ assault he’d suffered, but still he seemed completely out of it. “I think if there was a lottery, you’d oughta go play it Commander…” she said, slowly turning to meet him “By all rights, he should be on top of you preparing you for a body bag…” Her ‘giddy’ face no longer present, but it showed sorrow. She knew Samuel was in bad shape, and all the medication wasn’t going to fix it.
She returned to her bed, as Samuel stayed in his, and Lt. Cmdr. Grabfoot returned to his duties. She returned to the PADD she had. Say what you will about her family, they were all tenacious in their own right, where it seemed the men in their family line had the strength and moral fortitude to be soldiers, policemen and even like ‘knights’, the women had intelligence that even dazed their brute force. Jadzia had accessed Samuel’s personal mail box, to read about this Ann that seemed to cause him so much pain, but inadvertently she’d retrieved and read the letter Ann left. Even Jadzia’s darkened heart seemed to weep… “Awww damn…” she said, as she finished reading the letter.

As Jadzia responded to his overtures, He saw the shaking finger gesture that she gave him with the words “Most guys ask to buy me dinner or a drink even, here you are asking me directly to your quarters, or my quarters...”
He blinks and flicks an ear back in disdain. "Honest and straight forward is two things that I like to be and not "beat around the bush" as you humans like to say. As far as me asking you directly to yours or my quarters, that is not the case. I meant places like 10 forward or the Galaxy Grill for a bite to eat or drink. I may move fast, but even I do not move that fast"
As he turned his head only towards Grant to speak with him, Jadzia moved, thinking perhaps he was trying to approach him, she jumped on his back and tried to pull him back wards. Surprised by the move, he did step back a step. His tail lashed twice and he turned his head back toward her and asked "What are you doing"?? He asked inquisitively, with a hint of anger in his voice
Before he knew it, Jadzia slid off his back and moved closer to her sibling and leaned down to look in his eyes. He could tell that she was not happy with what she saw. the smell of sadness spiked in her then she looked back at him “I think if there was a lottery, you'd oughta go play it Commander…” By all rights, he should be on top of you preparing you for a body bag…” She no longer had the look of humor on her face, but more of a serious look, with sadness in her eyes. He didn't know what this lottery game was but he knew a threat when he heard one. His ears laid back against his head. He thought of giving a response back but he decided against it. An annoyed growl escaped him before he turned and started to leave, pausing only to give a nod to the doctor "Good day, Doctor MacAuley"
Location: Sickbay to TL, on his way to the bridge
He then exits sickbay, shaking his head in disbelief and exasperation "Humans" , he muttered to himself, as he walked down the hallway to the nearest TL. Entering he ordered the TL "Bridge"!
Location: Bridge, TL to the Command chair
A minute later, he stepped onto the bridge, looking around he spotted Lt Hound. Remembering how he sounded over the communicator, he said to the canine "I'll resume command, Lt Hound. From the sound of your voice over the communicator, you sound injured. You should get down to sickbay. I assume you know where it is?" he asks, with humor

Buford slowly stands holding his side "Its just a twinge Sir" she says in some pain "But I'll go see the Doctor" he says his Tail wags "Unless they Moved it, then I can still find it by the Doctors sent" he says and heads for the exit slowly
He looks back at Grab Foot "Were 3 days out from SB 234 TW8 holding steady" he says then exits
Taking the Turbo Lift to sickbay he exits and enters sickbay he walks up to Colina holding his side
"I think I might have broke a rib" he says in some pain, he smiles at Colina "Would Y'all have dinner with me after shift?" he asks, his eyes get wide as he grabs his side as bolt of Pain hits it

"Well now, Lt Hound state your problem and then with not even a hello ya be askin me dinner. Git in exam room 3, I'll be right after ya."
She looked around sick bay while it calmed down the activity level was still high. She walked into exam room 3 and had him lay on the bio bed.
As the scans began she started reading them.
"Well now according to this you have a closed fracture of the 18th and 19th rib on ya left side. Just lie still now and I'll have ya up in a few minutes."
She ran the bone regenerat0r over the area after it was repaired she gave him a decongestant, to make sure his lungs would clear up. There was slight inflammation caused by the injury, she administered an anti-inflammatory.
"I want ya to rest here for an hr and then I'll be checkin on ya. I'll have to let ya know about dinner, its been slightly busy of late."

She smiled at him as she walked out. Then went to see the CO Grant she checked the data stream from his bio bed.
"Well sir, your as fit as fiddle. More in likely, you've a headache still. I'll give ya a mild pain killer for that and then its off with ya. Just no cart wheels for the time being." She smiled as she administered the medication.
She watched him as he stood up. She looked at him knowing the pain he felt was not just in the injured area but in his heart as well. She put her hand on his arm.
"Ya know sir, life at times is unfair, and can deal ya a heavy blow. But as they say, what doesn't kill ya only makes ya stronger. And I've a feeling, that ya be seeing her before ya know it."
"And being on the bridge might be the best thing for ya. So its off with ya."

A shuttle arrived and then landed. A feline officer stepped off the shuttle and went directly to the bridge. She walked up to the command officers, saluted.
"Offficerrrr M'Leezz rrreporrrting innnn." she pronounced her name as Mmmmleeezzz. There was a purring quality to her voice that most outside of her race found especially relaxing.

Like a robot, very mechanically, Samuel hopped rolled out of bed and got to his feet. It took him a moment to ‘reset’ his equilibrium. Uncharacteristically he leaned into to Colina’s hand, to help steady himself; his head was gonna hurt for a while. Regrettably, it wasn’t his worst injury. It was also apparent, painfully, that his personality was different, his humor was gone and jolly nature severally damaged; the Doctors good jab at cartwheels fell flat.
“With respect doctor, it’s much more simple then that…” he tugged tight his tunic and refastened his collar. “God hates me.” He nodded respectfully to Colina and departed Sickbay. Ignoring his sister, Jadzia, all together. Just before exiting, he saw Lt. Hound recovering, he nodded respectfully at the Officer, then departed. He’d done a good job taking care of the Terrasect; he’d have to make a notation in his file.
The thing was, it wasn’t even totally regarding Ann that seemed to kick him off his horse and into the mud. His first serious relationship had gone on for several years, to the point of almost getting married, but that’d fallen apart when his fiancé had almost been killed, right in front of him. Never wanting to be put in that position again, and not knowing how he’d hold up should something happen, Sam had ‘turtled up’ within himself and had stayed alone.
Ann, like a virus, had infected him and had grown out of control, causing him to almost revert to a school boy when around her pleasantries and her uniqueness. Especially considering how they had first encountered one another, Samuel thought it funny that he’d began to fall, dare he say it, in love with her. The fact that she wasn’t from ‘around here’ seemed to make her more alluring in her own right, somehow allowing Sam’s defenses to go down and begin to feel for a women again.
It wasn’t as if he hadn’t the opportunity, even though Samuel wasn’t some chick magnet, there had been several women since Jennifer that would have like to pursue a relationship with him; it was Samuel himself that had prevented any of these advances to come to fruition. But then again, call it fate, circumstance, destiny or blame the universe, the cosmos or the deity of your choice; it’d all gone to hell. His second relationship, the second women he’d began to have feelings for, had departed his life, for one reason or another, and it was as if everything that had happened in the past 10 years of his life, whether he’d dealt with it or not, had come crashing down on him like a comet.
As Lt. Cmdr. Grant entered the turbo lift, and headed towards the Main Bridge, his mind swam with emotions that he fought desperately to keep in check; anger, rage, love, compassion, sorrow, hate, sadness and dozens of others. As was accustom to the men in his family, Sam’s ears were as red as red could be; an uncontrollable body language giveaway. He took several deep breaths, as he’d been instructed to do by his father, in an effort to get ‘cool air’ into his lungs and try and help cool him down; it wasn’t helping.
As the turbo lift doors opened, he walked directly towards his Ready Room. “Commander Grabfoot, please copy and route all repair lists and information to my Ready Room.” Without waiting for questions or the like, at the sound of the ‘m’ on room, the RR doors closed behind him. He knew Grabfoot was a capable officer, and should there be anything that needs to be brought to his attention, he’d come and see him; but now was not the time to stand on the bridge and ‘chat’.
Working efficiently, he scrolled through information on his computer display to see how badly things had gone at their previous engagement; a battle that would be dubbed “The Battle of Kasserine Pass” by several history fanatics at Starfleet Command.
