Her tail was still moving in an annoyed way. So far she has not seen much on this ship but rudeness, abruptness, and now insults. Expect for the feline, at least he has manners and knows how to use them.

Buford moves the ship toward docking ring 1 and looks at M'Leezz
"I beg my pardon I did not hear y'all state your name M'Leezz" he maintains one quarter impulse toward the station
"If I had I would have never called you that, I can under stand Grants sorrow of her leaving" He slows to one third impulse, and watches the Station slowly getting larger

“Aye Sir,” she replied “I’ll swing down by Engineering and see what I can do, no promises though.” That school girl smile crossed her lips “As I’m sure you’ve gathered from my brother, ‘patience’ is not one of our virtues.” She giggled and turned to leave.
She heard her brothers communiqué to Grabfoot, and stopped momentarily, but she just shook her head and headed out towards the turbo lift, entered, and sped off to engineering.
Upon arriving, she checked in with some of the engineering crews that were working, proceeded over to a damaged status console, and began working to repair it. Her emotions and mind raced at all that had happened, and all that may still yet occur…

OOC Note:
First, M’Leezz’s rank was not overlooked as she was supposed to have already been a member of the crew, as I’d mentioned, but promoted to senior staff, due to our distance from any chance of re-supply. Her rank should be Lieutenant.
Second, god I hope that’d accent would decrease… I don’t want you (Grabfoot) to have those feelings for Samuel… *shutters*
-------------------------------------------
Location: Ready Room
Cmdr. Grant sat at his desk, looking over the message again and again until Cmdr. Grabfoot entered. "Lt Commanderr Grab Foot Of~Two Dawnss rrepporrting as orrderred, Commanderr". Samuel’s eyebrows at the random and strong accent that he’d seemed to have picked up, he dismissed it quickly as it didn’t really have any relevance at this time.
“I’ve been relieved of command Commander.” Grant said simply, with an almost monotone voice. He turned the console screen around so that Mr. Grabfoot could see it. “Computer, reply message.”
Message Begins,
“Lieutenant Commander Samuel J. Grant, Acting Commanding Officer aboard the USS Terrasect, by order of Starfleet Security and in conjunction with Federation Council’s order CRV453.346 of 2385, you are here by immediately promoted to the rank of Colonel. Your orders are to report to Starbase 234 and assume command of a Starship there; registry 92020. You have 3 weeks, from this Stardate, to get the ship in working order and deployed in the Alpha Quadrant. During this time, you will select a crew and begin familiarizing yourselves with the new CRV protocols and responsibilities.
The CRV Fleet has been approved for 15 vessels, 8 of these vessels must be online and deployed within the next 3 weeks; no exceptions. I’m well aware that this is short notice, it’s supposed to be. Your ship has been decommissioned for around 10 years, but it is an Excelsior Class Starship, Refit 2375 variant; she’s a good ship, get her space worthy on the double. You’ll find additional orders waiting for you at the Starbase.
Oh, and don’t forget to notify the Dock Master when you name her Colonel.
Signed,
Senior Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Davis Starfleet Security”
Sam sighed before speaking again “The Terrasect is going to be ‘shelved’ temporarily during its repairs; and as I’m sure you’re well aware they are going to be extensive. My current orders are to get her docked, moored, and secure for the overhaul. To get all non-essential crew disembarked and make sure all casualties are transferred to the Starbase’s Medical Center.” He spun the console back towards him, activating a few keys on it, as he continued to read the orders he’d been given.
“Terrasect personnel are authorized immediate and indefinite shore leave, once docked, as an accurate ‘repair down time’ is not yet available. She is not going to be decommissioned, but she is going to be marked as ‘inactive due to repairs’. From my understanding, she’ll be receiving a new CO before departing, but not until then. Hopefully Jim will be back on his feet, but that’s also still up in the air. Colina says he’s doing much better, but still when he’ll be up and about again is anyone’s guess. Once docked, I’ll be departing with a specialized Security Detail and that’ll be that.” He scrolled down through the orders a bit more.
“You’ll be the senior most officer aboard, but you are to coordinate all actions and decisions that would require a ‘Command Officer’ through UF HQ; until or unless instructed differently by said command.” Samuel stood up, and extended a hand, “Good luck Commander, if you see Jim, tell him I'm sorry about 'banging up his ship' and to drop me a line…” Samuel smiled, shaking Grabfoot’s hand. There was a lot of animosity between the officers, for multiple reasons, but this was not the time for any last ‘jabs’ or words.
After shaking hands, he logged off the console and exited the Ready Room, and the Bridge, and proceeded to his quarters to begin packing what articles were left and were salvageable. But before the turbo lift doors closed he said aloud, although to no one specifically "When one door closes, God opens a window..."

*** ^^^ Terrasect Story / Action ^^^ *** Time/Story Advancement:The USS Terrasect has now docked with Starbase 234. Worker Bees have begun hooking up power transfer cables from the Starbase and Engineering Personnel have begun to ‘beam over’ to repair the dry docking air lock to allow quicker access/egress. After an hour or so of these beginning actions, the Terrasect was no longer under its own power and its warp core had been shut down and brought off line. The airlock was secure and crew and officers began exiting and boarding both the Terrasect and the Starbase. A detail of five heavily armed Officers, in uniforms that had not been seen by anyone aboard the Terrasect, boarded her and headed for Lt. Cmdr. Grant’s personal quarters. Their uniforms, instead of the standard solid color shoulders, were almost a ‘tiger’ pattern of multiple department colors and a black or navy blue base. Four of these officers displayed gold and black stripes, and a single officer displayed red and black stripes. The four gold officers carried high-powered phaser rifles, a new configuration, and marched through the ship. They located Samuel’s quarters and chimed the door…

OOC: Felines purr, Mr. Grant. That's what they do. Like canines bark and wags their tails... as M'Leezz posted: "asking a feline to not purr, especially a Caitain is like asking a canine, not to wag its tail enthusiastically when happy. Which is most annoying" Granted, Grab Foot didn't "purr" at first, but he is feline... we all have traits that annoy others but we put up with hem
Besides, I don't think M'Leezz would be interested..
Location: Captain's Ready Room
He watched as Grant's eyebrow lift, as he was surprised by something else that was not on the screen. Perhaps it was his newly acquired way of speaking. He then seemed to dismiss it
"I've been relieved of Command" he said simply, seemingly with no emotion. His tail stiffened and his ears flicked back in surprise but he didn't say anything. Grant turned the screen around so he could read it. He sat down on his legs to get a better view of the screen and began to read
When finished, he looked back to Grant. "Congratulations, Comm.. Colonel." He'd say before he would continue “The Terrasect is going to be ‘shelved’ temporarily during its repairs; and as I'm sure you're well aware they are going to be extensive. My current orders are to get her docked, moored, and secure for the overhaul. To get all non-essential crew disembarked and make sure all casualties are transferred to the Star base’s Medical Center.”
As soon as Grant said the Terrasect was going to be "shelved", even temporarily due to repairs, He shot back up to his feet, his tail whipping around. He knew there would need to be extensive repairs but he didn't want the Terrasect to be "shelved" As he spun the computer terminal back around, he spoke, a hissing tone to his voice, instead of a purr "That isss not rrright. The Terrrresssect ssshould nnot be ssshelvved. I ssshouuld be made temproary cccommnnder until Harrsssting is back on hisss feet"
He fell silent again as Grant continued “Terrasect personnel are authorized immediate and indefinite shore leave, once docked, as an accurate ‘repair down time’ is not yet available. Once docked, I’ll be departing with a specialized Security Detail and that’ll be that."
You’ll be the senior most officer aboard, but you are to coordinate all actions and decisions that would require a ‘Command Officer’ through UF HQ; until or unless instructed differently by said command.” Grant stood up, and extended a hand, “Good luck Commander, if you see Jim, tell him I'm sorry about 'banging up his ship' and to drop me a line…"
He glanced at his hand a moment then extended his own to shake "I willll do ssso, Colonel" The purr was returning to his voice again, replacing the hissed tone. He saw Grant smile but he didn't return it. He wasn't in the mood to spiral his tail at the moment. He knew there was animosity between them but that was on a more personal level. He felt that they had been rivals for the affections of Ann. In the end, she had chosen Grant, much to his disappointment. He reasoned that if she was happy with him, then he would be happy for her, without trying to slice Grant to ribbons
After shaking hands, he turned and exited the ready room. He was going to the command chair when he smelled a little bit of anger/frustration coming from M'Leezz. He stopped and looked at her, his ears tilting forward, curious as to why she would be angry. Then he glanced at Buford, wondering what he had done or said to the feline officer to tick her off. He then shook his head slightly then continued to the command chair, opening a ship wide comm link "Brridge to allll perrssssonnnel" The purr was back in his voice "Ssshorree lleave hhasss beenn grranted annd willll llast unntill the Terrrrasssecct is rrepairred, which isss indeffinnatte at thisss timme. Brridge out"
He looked back to M'Leezz and then to Buford, still a little curious what went on but then he dismissed it. It was none of his concern. He looked at the view screen as SB 234 loomed ever closer
An hour later, after Buford had expertly docked the Terrasect, he began shutting down all tactical and security systems. He then left the bridge to go to his quarters to pack. Shortly after that, he made his way off the ship onto SB 234 and headed for the quartermaster's office to get a temporary assigned quarters. He had pondered the thought of going directly to the Field Marshal's office to speak with her about giving him temporary command of the Terrasect until Harsting was on his feet again, but then his dismissed that idea. She has enough on her mind without having an upset Eeaiauoan Lt commander requesting to be the new temp Captain. Besides, he had his orders and he had at least a few weeks to think about going to the Field Marshal's office. Right now, he thought of just enjoying his shore leave and relaxing.
Then M'Leezz crossed his mind..

First Colonel Grant congrats on your promotion I was going to answer this in the form of OOC's but decided not to, and to take a higher road so to speak and have this as an instructive post. Caitains A feline species found on the planet Cait, which is a medium sized, class M planet that orbits Verrral, a Type G3 V star; yellow, slightly brighter than Sol. Cait is the 3rd planet (something we actually share in common with humans) out of 6 in our system. More information concerning Cait will be forthcoming as the need arises. Concerning my manner of speech or as you have indicated my accent. 1) the Caitian language is beautiful, flowing language lacking a lot of the harshness of a most humanoids with excessive consonants. Which can be very annoying to my ears. But something I never mention nor complain about. 2) for most non-Caitians we sound for the most part as if all we do is purr. But if you listen closely you begin to detect several different sounds. 3) For humans you need to know how to roll your r's. Many of us serious Caitian simmers have Incorporated several other letters to complete the picture so to speak of how it would properly sound. Examples -- M, Z, N, S, and there are several others that could be used, and I've seen it but haven't used them. 4) The reason I use the letters R, M, Z, N, and S is to simplify and make it easier for the reader. Rarely will I use more then that such as --- yourrrrrr. I personally think thats over kill. 5) A look at some of our words humm call it a word list or dictionary. Will help to highlight this better. a - I/me
arrr - I am
eerro - but
caet - Cait
derrrina - claw
d'lerr - no
i - he/she/it (not pronounced like 'I')
irrr - he/she/it is
i'ral - they
irrrral - they are
kerrosat - traveler/tourist
llirrriv - nose
l'vok - news
marr - of/from/to
mmerrrv - welcome
m'nirrr - culture
parrr - yes
prrraann - tail
prrre - greetings, hello
rro - and
rre - a/the
rrr'me - goodbye
sserrrot - eye
t'rrenn - Terran
tallorran - honored, honorable
tesam - language
virrra - water 6) Even our written language stresses our feline nature, which to humans look like a series of scratches. 7) Colonel Grant as a feline I do the following. Purring which is innate and integral to who I am Hiss when angered. Growl when pushed to far, fearful, or poised to attack spitting when fighting especially with another Feline If I can forgive humans for being human surly there is room to accept felines as felines. )CC: my resources are www.geocities.com/caitian_tourist/index.htmlwww.danhausertrek.com/AnimatedSeries/MRessBio.htmlstartrek.wikia.com/wiki/Caitianalong with reading numerous bios and postings of other Caitians

Buford hears the RR doors open then Grab Foot he looks at M'Leezz and then looks at him, he can sense little curious but Grab Foot dismissed it
Buford guided the ship toward the station fired Fwd thrusters to slow the ship, then a quick burst of Aft thrusters to dock the ship, the docking clamps engage and secure the ship, the umbilical cord attaches to the ship as the warp cores are take off line
He hears the Announcement secures his station and gets up he then follows M'Leezz out and heads to his quarters

"Then I be seeing ya tomorrow. I got to go, have a lot to do they could have given a warning ya know. MacAuley out."
As the station medical staff came to pick up her patients she went to each one to make sure they knew and understood why the transfer. A few had special concerns that Colina promised would be attended to.
She left orders with her staff and went with Capt Harsting to make sure he was cared properly. It was her Captain after all.

“Don’t worry Commander” Samuel said “it’s not permanent. I’m sure the Terrasect will be out ‘shooting the stars’ in no time; but you know as well as I do that she’s in no condition to be out there right now.” He looked back at out the side window of the Ready Room “I had the chance to argue, but I didn’t feel comfortable with the risk of her being out on the line in her present state; especially if she came under fire again.”
Before exiting, he looked back at the Lt. Cmdr. “For what it’s worth, she’s all yours…” he said as he looked around the Bridge and the Ready Room.
Location: Personal Quarters (Present)
Samuel had packed up the items that he needed, and had changed into civilian clothes, a simple jean pant and a relaxly buttoned shirt; his uniform lay folded on the bed with his pips and communicator. Where he was going, he needed none of these items, nor could he really say where it was; it was so classified.
He turned as he heard the door chime, “Enter.” As the doors opened, the five officers entered and handed him a PADD. “Colonel, this is for you.” Samuel read it, nodded, and upon shouldering his small bag that he had that contained his personal items, followed the officers out.
Sam walked, in the center, of the CRV Security Detail, that was escorting him out. He walked with his head down, a very sullen appearance to him, much the opposite of how he usually looked. He was so distracted by the loss of Ann, and also confused with this transfer/promotion, he was just beside himself. As the exited the Terrasect, he turned and placed his hand on the small section of hull that was exposed at the dry dock. “Thanks…” was all he said, and he and the detail headed off through the Starbase to a classified briefing and a shuttle trip.
