She walked in to the CAG"s Office and went over to the replicator. Computer two root beers and one cream soda. The drinks appeared and she handed them to the Chief and Becky. She sat down at the desk and gestured for both of them to sit down. So tell me Chief How long have you been on this ship? She took a drink of her root beer.

"About six months before the CAG." He took the pre offered cream soda. "I was the assistant to the last Deck Chief. He left with the last CAG and since I already knew how things ran, I got the job. Lieutenant Lassiter has given me a free hand on mods and kept his office open to me for any ideas I've had. I showed him my designs for a new craft and he's encouraged me to continue with them. He's promised to submit them to his father for consideration and petition the CO to allow the construction of a prototype. "

Her eye's lit up at what the Chief said. New craft? Really a new type of fighter? Or scout ship? Do you have a test pilot in mind? Boo-Boo just grins and waits to see if the chief will be able to get a word in.

Its a fighter, He smiled at her reaction. I'm not close to construction yet, but the idea is a more maneuverable and yet better armored fighter.

I like to seeing the concept model once you have it.She took a drink of her root beer then looked to Becky. How long have you been here?
Becky: I have been on the Tarawa for 2 month's I was on the U.S.S. Victory it was my first posting. We had too many RIO"s so I put in for a transfer here. I wanted to be a fighter pilot but I did not have the score's for it. But I am the best RIO. She smiles.

She was just about to tell her story when the yellow alert sounded. Looks like story time will have to wait. She looks to the chief. Get my bird and five more ready for launch and start prep on another six. She taps her com badge. All alpha squad pilots report to the hanger deck in you flight suit ready for a hop A.S.A.P. She looks to the Chief and Boo-Boo. Let's Rock. She heads back out to the Hanger deck Becky follows.

Marc walked in having already gotten the comm message and wondered what was going on as the fighters had already been on standby at ready status. He must have felt the Lieutenant Saito meant her own craft. "Lassiter to bridge, we've already been on standby status set. I'll be sending my shift rotations to your console. The only pilots outside rotation are myself and Lieutenant Saito as we will be accompanying whichever group gets scrambled, 'when and if." He turns to Xenakis. "Apparently, my CAG-X is performing readiness drills. We'll watch these then I feel I should cut our tour short. I'll end it with the bridge and if the Colonel has any information for both of us he might relay it. Besides, I have to get back to my office to give Lieutenant Saris her report, I'm sure she's eager to receive it. He smiled.

Bart was careful to put his glass back in the replicator for disposal then headed out. He heard Saito call the alert status, but since his deck crew was already there the 'Yellow shirts' signal the planes to ready for launch. they lined up rowed in two's to launch. Bart did a visual confirmation that each pilot was in fact in his assigned craft. They would rotate the planes every two hours. He noticed that Lassiter had walked beside him with the new officer. Bart made a big effort to not stare at the woman. He went into professional mode. "Whomever has the Colonel better pray for mercy to whatever deity they worship because we sure as hell won't have any."

"Colonel Kaine engenders some very strong feelings. In fact we've just seen quite a demonstration of this in Five-Forward." She turned to the Deck Chief. "I'm sorry. I haven't introduced myself yet. 1Lt Nemesis Xekakis. I've just transferred aboard. I could say that I'm looking forward to working with you, but I think the CAG here might see that as a personal failing on your part if you were to request to meet with me." She gave Lassiter an overly sweet and completely disingenuous smile.

Bart face reddened as the Counselor answered. All his Marine bravado gone and all the was left was 'hedgehog'. Nice to meet you ma'am, and I think I'll be alright. I come from a long line of neuroses and can spot one from a mile away even in myself.

She saw the CAG walk in then she looked to Becky. Take over I'm going to take to the Boss. Becky nodded she turned back to where the CAG and the counselor and chief were and walked over. She walked up to the CAG and saluted. Sir Alpha squad present and ready.

Smartly done Saito, smartly done. He says as she reports. Just remember, that if we are scrambled you and I will be with whichever squad goes out. Have the men in flight suits and ready to go, but keep them relaxed while they wait. How did you like the RIO I sent you? She's the best CSO (Combat Systems Officer) in the fleet.

She nods, Thank you Sir. The men are in their flight suits I'll have the other half in the pilot ready room on stand by. They can read and stay loose in there. Is that ok sir?
