Robert Piccardo, who played the immortal "Doctor" on Star Trek Voyager (one of the best casted and played characters in any of the series in my opinion) was afraid that he blew his chances for the role during is audition; humorously however, it was his error that guaranteed him the job.
What was the error/s?
Please be specific if possible.

He add-libbed when reciting his lines... The line he was supposed to recite was "And don't forget to deactivate me."... But at the end he also added "I'm a doctor, not a light-bulb."
the best thing was that he did this completely unaware of the running McCoy joke within the Star Trek series... It just came to him at the last second. He not noly got a laugh, but the part...

Excellent! I thought that was gonna take a while to get... lol
I do love that line however. I thought his "I'm a Doctor, not a battery" and "I'm a Doctor, not a doorstop" were also just as funny.
