She finished her tea and looked up. It was a long day and tiring, but that was a common feeling when she had a patient as young as David Iverson, who needed life saving surgery done. She got and walked to his recovery room.
She went to his bio bed reading the scans. He stirred making a face showing his discomfort. It was too soon to give him anything, she placed her hand on his shoulder. Standing there for a few minutes watching him. Then she walked out soon she would call the Major and let her know her son was doing well.

Two hrs passed since she last checked on Davy, she got up going to his bio bed. Her eyes glazed over as she looked down at him, with her left hand she gently pushed back the hair on his forhead. She read the bio stream and noted everything was exactly as it should be.
She stayed at his bedside knowing the pain med would wear off in a few minutes.
Mommy, mommy want my mommy."
"Shhh, little one she'll be here soon. Does your chest hurt cause I can make it go away."
"Yes, mommy mommmmyyyyyy." She took out the hypo she had in her pocket and gave him a dose to relieve the pain. Within seconds his eyes closed as he fall asleep.
Returning to her office she checked the time and then sent a message to Major Iverson, letting her know David was alright and resting.

She return to her office and finished the paperwork on David Iverson's surgery. He was doing better then she expected at first. Children had a way of doing that. Then Thra sent a comm to the Major informing her of Davids progress and that he would be sleeping all afternoon but she could come to see him anytime she wanted.
Just as she finished her tea, she received a comm from Moon telling her to report to the shuttle bay. Without wasting a moment she stood and went to the shuttle bay after giving very exact instructions to the nursing staff and reminding her that Dr Jacobs would be caring for David in her absence.
