It would be good to walk off some lunch. that was quite delicious. I have heard that the Canadian countryside is much more.. colorful and attractive than the American side. I wonder why that is

As he walked with her, he heard her mention that she couldn't go near any waterfalls for a long time. This puzzled him and he looked at her curiously "Why is that?" he asks. With him, he loved to sit and listen, or look, at a cascading waterfall. It had such a relaxing effect and more then once, he had fallen asleep under a warm sun

"You know my cousin is Jenina Weslynes. Remember when she fall while rock climbing? It was close to the falls, some think the ledge she was on was slight wet from the mist, others think it was equipment failure. I associated waterfalls to almost losing her. She has always been my favorite."

Sam smiles at Dexx as she takes his hand "I know you were joking, and David be the first to laugh at it" she says as she stands up "He said Beth doesn't like ships, but she was surprised at how big the ship is, I hope she stays" she says then Sam nods and follows Dexx

He nodded and looked a bit surprised as she mentioned her cousin is Jenina Weslynes. He knew Jenina. Of course, he knew her. He grew up with her, went to the same school as her. He even had a crush on her when they both got to the dating age but he was afraid to her approach her. She was the popular one. He was more shy, kept to himself. She always had boys competing for her attention. He was afraid that she would reject him if he would have approached her so he just stayed back and watched from afar

During most of his visits to the Jalaran Falls, he would see her there, rock climbing. Sometimes she would come after he had gotten there, sometimes before. He always masked his mind, so she wouldn't sense him, but knowing how mentally adept she is, she would have sensed him, even with his mental shielding. The Day of the accident, he had not gone to visit the Falls. When he heard about it, he felt crushed, devastated at the thought of nearly losing Jenina. He felt he had let her down and that it almost killed her. That was the deciding factor in his decision to join StarFleet. To make Jenina proud of him. To gain the courage to approach her and ask her to go out with him

Then he learned that Jenina had fell in love and bonded with another. Again, he felt crushed. He waited too long and she had slipped away, but then after a time, he felt happy for her as long as she was happy until one day he herd that her bondmate was killed on a mission. He wanted to go comfort her but his duties didn't allow him too. he..

He mentally shook his head, dismissing the memories of the past "I had heard the stories of the accident. The one day I was unable to visit the falls and she.. nearly died. I keep thinking that If I was there that I could have perhaps prevented the accident somehow. I.. I had a crush on her but I never acted upon them. I was always afraid she would turn me down. I'm just relieved that she survived"

He nods. { I hope she does too. But I would not blame her for not staying, once we leave here no matter if we are at red alert or not we are in harm's way. I'm sure it wil be a lot for them to think about. Whats does your family think about your life in the Corp?}

As Sam walks with Dexx "Yes they have allot to talk about" she says then laughs "My Family as always been Navy, when I said I join the Corps they said are you nuts, but they are proud of me" She says

"what did your family think when you joined the corps?" she asks

{To be honest it was so long ago that I don't remember there reaction. I possibly blocked the memory as I recall there was a bit of yelling.} He chuckles. { But I do recall my sister was very proud of me.} They walk down the gangway to the Station and head for the restaurant. Once there Dexx walks up to the Host. { Table for two please. }

Sam laughs then smiles "Sisters are always proud of their brothers thou we don't show it all the time" she says, as Dexx tells the waiter table for two

He nods. {I am equally proud of her she is a doctor back home she works with children. Do you have bothers and sisters?}

Sam smiles "A Doctor a very Noble profession, I have a Brother and Sister both younger than me" she says "Is your Sister younger or older?" she says

{Kirry is a year younger then I but for some reason she was always to grown up for her age.} He chuckles. The host comes back and sits them at a table. He waits for Sam to sit and then He takes a seat. { I do need to get back home to see her one of these days. I think it's been at least 12 years since I have been home.}

Sam takes a seat as she listens to Dexx "12 years is a long time, you should get back home and see her, Video messages are great but nothing like being their" Sam says

He nods. { I know I keep saying next month. I have like 1200 hours of leave You would think I could take 2 weeks.} He looks at the menu. { So what are you going to have?}

Sam looks at the menu "Yes you could" she smiles at Dexx over the menu "Stuff Pork Chops, Garden Salad with raspberry vinaigrette and white wine she says

He smiles. { A very good choice I think I will have the same.} He looks to the Waiter. The waiter says I'll be right back with your Salad and drinks. Dexx nods and looks back to Sam. { So what part of Earth do you come from?}
