"Not at all. I love this time of day. Davey goes to bed and Mom can be an adult. With company even, speaking above things like, Thats my boy you want ba ba. Oh fall down at-a-boom all gone. Now, I get to talk like an adult. YAY."
She got them both a beer in a frosted mug, she sat on the couch. "To the core."

He raised his mug "Semper Fi." He took a drink. And how grown up are we talking?

I had just gotten off leave when I was assigned here so I thought I might take leave to get to acquainted with Tarawa. He looks at her. That is if I could have the right person show me around. I'll spring for dinner groundside afterward.

"I don't know, small town girl looks into a telescope and decides she's gonna make a differance, out there in the stars. Had a friend in the crops and I liked what he had to say. Here I am."

For me it was a family tradition. There's been a Lassiter flying for this country since the military had planes. I think when I was younger though I had a tendency to rely on my natural talent. Just a small town girl huh? He chuckles. What town?

"The town is called Hope Valley, R.I. We have a general store, post office, church, school, and thats it. Well theres the Town Hall. Can you guess what they are hoping for."

I was a city boy. He smiled. My dad was a pilot in the fleet and eventually went on to have a hand in the designs of the fighters we use today. Its one reason I don't go planet side much. My parents are still way too acitve to be sitting around the house waiting for visitors. I'm more at home on a carrier like this than planetside.

Some people are natural protectors. Marines have that in them. I expect you had that instinct well before Davey came into the picture.

"I don't know." She takes a sip of her beer and smiles at him. "You know I have finally warmed up. I read my service record for the Med stuff this mission, and my core temp dropped. Next time Aniri can go." Laughing.

He slides over and puts his arm around her waist. The best way to warm up is body heat. He smiles.
