The shuttle landed As she walked over to him she looked up at him, smiling.
"I have a hovercraft rented, so if you come this way. I thought it would be a good way to see a little of Bajor too." he says, she nods
She got into the hovercraft. She looked around at Bajor as it took them 2 hours and 20 minutes to get to the river. Once there he parked the craft, She got out closed her eyes and took a deep breath
"Mmm nice. Can you smell the salt, the ocean is a few feet from where we are. Can you swim?" he asks
"Yes I smell the Salt" she says then she looks at him and smiles "Yes I can swim" she replies as she then looks at the river

Deka took her time returning to her quarters, investigating some of the lesser used areas of the station. She assumed that when the Captain wished to meet with her, he would send a message. About ten paces from her door, she stopped short, recognizing Delor, who had just rung the chimes. This was not the meeting she had in mind. She'd expected time to change into a fresh uniform, present herself at her best. Before she became tempted to quietly slip away and choose a more advantageous time, she cleared her throat slightly.
"Commander Delor?"

Stopping cricking his head to the side slightly straightening up once more at a solid parade rest the wear of the previous mission still fresh on his face and his uniform not exactly perfect after his rough encounter with the station commander nodding slightly he opened his mouth to speak " I am he lt commander Rekalan I can assume from the nature of your address not to mention i'm standing infront of your quarters is now a bad time? I simply wanted ot meet with you and pre brief you regarding the Bajoran mission we lot hae been unlucky enough to pull for this watch and to update you on ships ready status and answer any questions you ... may have regarding the ship her personnel or anything thats on your ...." his mind drifting then grabbing tight once more" to be honest I didnt suspect starfleet would entrust such a delicate mission to two Cardassians I half suspected you to be ferengi from the sound of your name on my roster"

Deka wasn't exactly sure what she had been expecting either but she was certain that it hadn't been this. He looked older now and at times it seemed his attention wandered. It took a few seconds for her to absorb the string of information he had run together and she found herself stunned into another moment of silence after hearing he had thought she might have been a Ferengi. Ferengi?! Solidly putting in place her most neutral expression, she stepped forward and saluted. "Lieutenant Commander Deka Rekalan..Sir." She introduced herself formally. "We can speak in my quarters if you wish."

taking a wide look around the almost empty hallway before taking a few tenetive steps forward his hand naturally forminga fist and flying to his shoulder in cardassian fashion " Perhaps inside would be a better place to discuss business yes i believe you are correct Lt Commander"

She stepped up and opened the door, noticing a smudge on her sleeve she must have picked up while exploring. She waited while he entered ahead of her. At least her quarters were clean. She had brought very little with her, only the necessities. She stood, not stiffly but attentively, and waited.

Eyeing his new first officer tenitavely and securely inspecting her uniform in detail in a matter of split seconds " you happpen to have a little something right there " indicating with his fingers on his own sleeve the general area of the smudge mark " once a fine and proud station tarrok Nor I could spend days examining her inside and out her changes modifications and alterations I wonder if all the old Torpedo turrets are still in effect or if the federation saw Fit to change her ammunition compliment with thier standard rounds ?" taking a seat at the dinner table seeing it the only fit conference table in her quarters" more astetically pleasing than the confined flat walls of a federation ship wouldn,t you say?" looking around her quarters namely at the walls the acrhetecture and design of the place as it was seeing thru eyes that once saw this place 20 years prior. " Either way yes firstly I ask if you;ve reviewed the roster"

Seating herself, she felt a little wary. She wasn't used to dealing with a commanding officer who not only told her what she needed to know but also what he was thinking and in considerable detail. It also made her uncertain if he wanted the same in return. So decided for now, it would be better to err on the side of caution. " I have reviewed the roster, Commander. It may be because I have not been away from Cardassia as long as you have" she offered. "Or that I have been concerned with this new assignment, but I haven't really given much consideration to the architecture." He seemed to feel as she did that this place, in it's heart, would always be Cardassian, no matter what alterations the Federation made to it. "Perhaps I should have taken better advantage of the time I spent here to appreciate it."

"Don;t concern yourself with the walls just off hand or with the history of this place this is our current asignment": Slapping the PADD on the tabletop and displaying the current mappable area a four llight year sector of cardassia and the bajoran system the wormholes former coordinates and the station still marked Terrok Nor on his maps " we will be escorting transports filled with bajoran Priso.... Settlers to the far arm of the federation to establish colony worlds leaving a minimal of supplies taking few passangers and screening for illnesses and genetic defects untill what time the coloney ships are evenly distributed according to Bajoran guide lines we will remain escorts on this route securing thier safe and peaceful travels to thier destinations. there will be no fewer than 35 ships in five convoeys divided evenly for wear and security each ship carrying a little over one thousand travelers our mission objectives seem simple enough" Ending his seeming speech with a breif exhaustion of air sounding one the edge of frustration and exhaustion on a personal level rubbing his temples " leave has been established for the crew for a week longer while minor repairs are underway on the trevious SAdmiral malc left me in quite a state "

He removes the supplies he took with him and set up camp. He turned to, "Well, its time I took a look at this river." He walked over and stepped in. Then walked to where the water was chest high. He then squatted and disappeared from her sight.
He began to swim at a leisurely pace. He noticed the fish, and the variety that was present. He went a little further and came to some plants. He watched him for a minute as they swayed with the slight current. He smiled, remember once as a kid. There was a underwater plant that was somewhat similar he didn't notice it was a favorite feeding place for a small eel like animal. Being so taken with the plant movements, that when 3 of them swam by he was startled. It was the first time he nearly chocked underwater.
The time passed by and since his swim was so leisurely, he was able to stay under much longer then usual. 20 minutes passed before he needed to surface.

As she finished her meal, the waiter came over and cleared the dishes, asking her if she wanted anything else
"No, not at this time" she politely told the waiter
the waiter nodded "Ok. If here is anything else you want, don't hesitate to call me"
She nodded and the waiter went to help other customers. She sat back, merely watching the other patrons in the bar

She swam back toward the shore, she swam for 10 minutes then got out and laid on the shore, after he was under the water for 20 minutes he surfaced

Two things caught her attention. His continued use of the station's Cardassian name and his unintended? reference to the Bajorans as prisoners. She stored the information away for future reference.
"Thank you Sir. Your brief was very thorough. Is there any preparatory work that needs to be done?"Personally, she hoped so. She wasn't prepared for nor desired to spend another week here.

"there are always preparations to be made I'll need assistance transfering the colony supplies to the Trevious holds clearance from command grr starfleet looking over final route maps making any changes necessary. collecting crew from thier various tasks once we are set to get underway of course. But first and foremost over seeing the final details to the Trevious repairs if not for a cardassian convoy on out last mission I fear you may have found me a grave man" that last little bit with a tone of humor and a chuckle in his voice.

He looked at her. "That was a good swim. Swimming in "real" water, can't compare to the holodecks." As he spoke the webbing became less pronounced on his hands and feet. He sat down next to her on the blanket.
"Later, I'm gonna tackle that river from one end to next. it will take a few hours. But if you want you can follow me on the raft, or stay here. I'm looking forward to trying all those curves and bends in this river."
He put his face up to the sun and felt its warmth.
