In the meetings she had while planning on the new ship first selecting it, and then for a name. She decided it would be named after a Marine historical battle. Knowing it was Earth that began the Federation she choose that world to look for a battle that would bring pride to those entering her. Then she found out that they were being transferred to a new ship. The ship was named Tarawa. She did an exhustive search to find the right one. Sure enough it was there. She read the article and knew she found the name. It would honor and cherish the memory of those who so long ago faced terrible odds and who won the battle by sheer will and determination. The battle was a nightmare for sure. Taking place on earth circa 1943 in November. She lit a candle and then kneeled in silent pray and mediation for the brave Marines who gave thier lives that day, or who mained. Then for those who would suffer a lifetime over the losses, sights and sounds that day. Thirty minutes later she blew out the candle. The following are links you can follow to learn about that day and what happened and the why it was a necessary battle. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarawawww.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/6991/Tarawa.htmhistory.acusd.edu/gen/WW2timeline/CRAIGE/doc4.htmlwww.eyewitnesstohistory.com/tarawa.htmtarawatheaftermath.com/www.worldwariihistory.info/Medal-of-Honor/Tarawa.htmlwww.janeresture.com/tarawa/index.htm Tarawa today
