He puzzled for a moment on what she might be working at.The only leg injury I was aware of was a sprain from overdoing it a bit on the weights in the gym. She was lifting a weight on her left leg that seem to strain the muscle thought it could have been a tendon, I'm not a doctor.

"So you were present when the injury occurred? Did she indicate at that time if she felt that it might require medical attention? I'm looking to verify whether there was any real need for her to seek help off-ship or if she was perhaps using the injury for another purpose. I understand you're not able to provide a professional diagnosis, but as she never reported this, your observations are the next best thing."

I do have some field medic training . He spoke. I took her back to her quarters, she did not want to be taken to sickbay. I did the basic things that you do for such an injury but felt she still needed aid. It didn't look serious, but my experience is that you never know about these things till the swelling goes down.

Nemi nodded. "Was that the last time you saw her or if you saw her again, did you observe anything in particular about her; for example, was she walking easily or with a limp?" She smiled as she continued updating the information on her padd. "I know it seems that I'm nitpicking and perhaps I am, but the devil is in the details and I've learned just how valuable they can be."

I don't mind the questions ma'am. He smiled. I supposed Engineers have that in common. If we miss a detail it could take us much longer to find the problem. To answer your question, I didn't see much of her following that. Its a big ship and we both had our duties. We had this thing we would do where she would send messages through memos like when she mentioned 'hard work' in her memos it meant She'd overdone it. When she mentioned 'Chain of command' it meant she was getting reprimanded for something. She and I had a few lunches, but she was always already seated and would not leave before I did.

Nemi's eyebrows went up at the mention of personal codewords. "Would it be possible for you to write down a list of all the different words she used in her memos and their meanings? That is exactly the type of thing I'm looking for to help me determine if any 'messages' might have been left intentionally in her logs."

I can do that, do you want them here and now or do I have time to compose?

"Take all the time you need and if you still have those messages, may I take at look at them? I expect to have copies of hers along with the rest of the personal correspondence Colonel Allen gave me to look through. but if can take a look at yours, it could help fill in any gaps. I apologize for asking to see anything between both of you that would be considered 'personal'. Though I haven't broached the subject with you previously, I know that because you shared a closeness with Colonel Kaine, her disappearance may have affected you more deeply, and so I especially want to thank you for your help."

I'm a marine Counselor, His look intensified. Whether it was Colonel Kain or Private Smith there's a life at stake and a Marine missing. My feelings come in a distant third after that. If I thought my 'kid sister's" diary would give you a clue to a safe extraction, you'd have it. [/color]

"It's good to know you'd be willing to face extreme danger by crossing your sister." She grinned at the joke. "I'm not calling your sense of duty into question. Whether your feelings come first or last, they do contribute, and it's important to know if or how they'll affect what you'll do. I assume you've heard about the incident in Five Forward? That's an excellent example of what can happen when feelings get out of hand."

I was in the Marine Corps of Engineers. We found ourselves in many situations when emotion could cost lives. I don't bury them I use them. I hone them sharp make them focus me on the task at hand. There will be time enough when the job is done to express them outwardly, but in the meantime you attack your job and let nothing get by you. Feelings whether great or small don't have to be expressed in words passion comes out in every aspect of your life. He stopped realizing he might have been going off topic a bit.

"That's a particularly interesting dichotomy you've set up, you don't bury them but you do alter them rather than express them naturally. I think you may have confused what the feelings are with what are done with them. You can have a feeling without acting on it at all or without it affecting your actions. If I understand you though, you're saying that when you have strong feelings and you can't act on them in the way you'd like to, you rechannel them until you can and passion," She smiled. "Is more than a feeling, it's a drive. There's no doubt in my mind that you feel passionately, Captain."

That is very astutely put Doctor. He said with a smile. I believe any Marine that suppresses what he feels is no Marine at all. As for passion, I believe Greeks are well known for their 'warm blood' so to speak so I'm sure you understand that aspect.

"Touche!" She laughed. "I concede the point to you."
"Is there anything else you can think of at the moment that might be of help? I wouldn't be adverse to continuing such an interesting conversation, but I think both you and I have work that needs to be done."

Yes, I feel that we both need to get back to work. He thought for a moment. I have to get cracking on that list for you and check in on Engineering to make sure the 'bright boys' from the brawl don't wreck my Engine room. However, one we get a little down time we can always get back to it.
