"In her office, and was it directed to you alone or were there others present? What was it she questioned?' Nemi seemed to have taken no notice of Hall's claim that he could be of no further assistance. "Could you please relate the specifics? Were there substantial reasons for her to feel this way and did you agree with her or did you believe her standing was strong? Everyone questions themselves. It's not unreasonable but if it's something she hadn't done previously, it indicates a notable shift in her thinking."

Just me she said she was second guessing her self on not bugging out when told, and asked me what I thought?
I said she did the right thing, which I felt then and now. I didn't have try and make her see it my way, she nodded and thanked me.
He thinks for a minute She never second guessed her command before but a few time she wonder if they made the right choice in her to Command?
I took it as newbie jitters, but she is a good CO to this ship"

"Whether they made the right choice in giving her command or whether she made the correct choice in taking a command? Jitters is certainly a valid possibility, but if she's questioning her own or others' choices, she might have felt she wasn't ready and took the position prematurely . Choosing to disobey an order however, is not a simple decision of command. Though it's often been portrayed in a nonchalant or cavalier manner, such a decision can have serious repercussions. No CO would make such a decision lightly."
Nemi wondered if the decision to stay was tied in somehow with her disappearance. How long had it been between the end of the mission and when Colonel Kaine left? She decided to check the record but there seemed to be a growing connection between her state of mind and her choice to take on a personal mission.
"One last question, please colonel. Was there any possibility that her leaving was compelled rather than chosen?"

As far as I know she left to have her leg looked at, didn't see her go to the planet he said trying to remember everything he could.

Nemi nodded then smiled. "Thank you, colonel, I appreciate your openness. If you remember anything else, please let me know? And if Captain Bradley is available , would you ask him to come in?"

His curiosity go the better of him so Jack decided not to stand on ceremony, the door was opened so he entered. You wished to see me Doctor?

Nemi greeted him with a smile. "Good to see you again Captain. I'm conducting interviews with personnel who knew Colonel Kaine. In particular, those who had the opportunity to work closely with or spend time with her personally." She sat and gestured for him to do the same if he wished. " I'd like to ask you about any observations you may have made during the time you spent with her that might be relevant to understanding the reason for her disappearance."

He sat down and took a breath. He was waiting for someone to ask him about her, but didn't expect it to be the counselor. He decided to tell her without preamble. I only really had one extended conversation with her, and a few extracurricular activities. He smiled. One thing I noticed right away was her pride. She seemed a very proud woman. She was coming off what she would have interpreted as the first 'loss' of her career.

She returned the smile. "I think I can forgo asking about the specifics of those extracurriculars but what do you know of the loss? What was it exactly and what was her response to it? Did it seem that she was able to accept and work with the repercussions of it or did she use the pride to mask her feelings?"

He stopped to consider it not wishing to leave out anything that might be consider important. "When I talked to her, she was still in the midst of dealing with it but I felt after our conversation she was at least over the hill. There's another factor at work here though, she mentioned her background as a pilot. It was something that was very important to her. I had heard 'scuttlebutt' about the ship that an accident had robbed her of her flight status. She managed to have an operation to get it back. I even know that she had her own fighter in the Hangar bay. I think flying that relaxed her. He chuckled to himself. As much as a pilot can be relaxed. You've met Lassiter so you know what I mean.

Nemi grinned at the bit about Lassiter, then continued." If she had healed from the surgery and regained her status, physically she'd recovered, so was the 'loss' associated with the mission? Did she feel it was a personal failure?

I must admit, that I joined the crew right after the fated mission, but the jist of it was the ship took on a fight that they were not prepared to win. He stopped and thought again. As far as loss goes, it may have been a culmination of the crew she lost on that mission. I know there was a Bolian, when I arrived who they were having a memorial service for. He may have represented the many lost because I'm not exactly sure if he was a department head or what he did. I'm sure that he was well liked all things considered.

"There's no notation that I can find as to how she injured her leg. Did that happen during the mission also?" Nemi typed in her notes quickly, then looked back to Bradley.
