Detailed Mission Information
We are heading to Indri Omega 3 {Planet Notation 2}, which is to be a Federation Trade Colony established on the far side of the Klingon Border in neutral space. We have taken on nearly 1,000 persons for this mission, including 500 civilians, several of which are construction crews , scientists, and their families. We also took on an additional 100 marines and a Naval Commander, one Commander Stephen Neil, who will be overseeing the establishment of the colony. Also going are nearly 400 other starfleet personnel and their families who are going to be assisting the civilian population. We are carrying 2 industrial replicators, four runabouts, and 16 other support craft for moving large items.
Notations & Extended Information
Planet Notation 2:
Indri Omega 3 is located in the Beta Quadrant, nearly 12 light years from the edge of Klingon Territory in territorially neutral space. The Indri Omega 3 colony is being placed on a neutral planet, which will eventually create it's own form of self government upon it's completion. Starfleet has agreed to administer the construction phase of colony with assurance that a scientific orbital starbase may be placed in orbit of Indri Omega 3's third moon within the next 15 years.
Of other notation, the Federation recently negotiated with the Klingon Empire for rights to a corridor through Klingon Space to be administered by the Federation.
Engineering Notation 1
Slipstream Drive is a means of Transwarp. Transwarp, by current definition, is any means of increasing speed of conventional warp vastly without increasing fuel neccisary to maintain that velocity.
The Transwarp Scale was created by the Starfleet Corps of Engineers and later approved by the Federation Council in 2384. It's purpose is to translate high end Conventional Warp Scale numbers to an easy to say and understand.
Since Slipstream is currently the only conventional way to achieve Transwarp, the Corps of Engineers decided that the Slipstream Threshold of Warp 9.99951 would be used for a starter point for the Transwarp Scale, of Transwarp 10.
Transwarp 10 is about 30x faster than standard Warp 9 due to the exponential increase in warp factor up through the Warp 10 barrier. Please note: Transwarp 10 and Warp 10 are not the same number. The standard Warp Scale is capable of representing any number up to infinity. (Do not be confused by the Voyager Episode "Threshold", as it was almost as soon as it was released recanted by the Voyager Production Staff as Non-Canon.) The Transwarp Scale was created only for a simplifcation of the standard Warp Scale.
See the "Simmer's Guide to Engineering" for more information on Engineering information on Warp Scales, Weapons, Shields, Transporters, etc.
