She heard the report of a shadow with the same configurations of a Federation style ship. But is was unlisted in their data banks. Interesting was the only thought she had.
What would a ship of that type be doing in this area? The only way it could have entered undetected was during the height of the storm. But why? To enter a secured area, and place the alliance at risk? She asked Tac to send her an image of the scan.
As soon as Sahen sent it she looked at the image and then at the latest images she had on the diplo files. Sometimes they had images that were not general knowledge. She had the computer darken the images she had for a comparison. Visually, there was no mistake, this was indeed a Federation ship. But its class? She clasped her hands then placed her chin on them. Just before leaving the facility she was briefed on the latest known SF new vessels.
She then accessed the file on SF protocol's and made a note to run the language of SF Standard. She would be ready if the Riov needed her services.

The Federation ship began to regain it's attitude control, however, there was no subspace or standard radation eminating from the hull of the ship. However, the obviously damaged starboard nacelle of the vessel was venting highly ionized plasma with a slight quantum signature, which partially enveloped the vessel, which would play havoc on sensors if they were not at high resolution. The plasma also partially shielded the vessel from a good visual view, making it impossible to read any identification marks.
Though the attitude control had been, seemingly, at least partially restored, the vessel remained titled at about 30 degrees to starboard, as if manuvering thrusters only had somehow stabilized the vessel. Evidence of this could be seen in a slight disruption of the plasma around that quarter of the vessel.

She read her sensors and shook her head. This was wrong, it had to be. She quickly accessed tactical files to see how a Federation vessel would be venting highly ionized plasma with a slight quantum signature. This was constant only with vessels having a quantum singularity. And to her knowledge no Federation vessel had AQS (a quantum signularity).
She tapped on her com link. "Engineering I need a complete check of tactical. A repair to targeting which is off by .6, and now my senors."
Remembering the orders of the Rhaetelh'saehne (executive officer), she sent her report to the Riov, and to her. This would be imperative that both were informed. If her senors were wrong, their were wrong. But if they were right and she failed to report it, she could very possibility be dead. And that is not what she desired at this time.
She sent the following report to both Riov Cretak and erie'Riov:
The shadow is still in the same position, however it has started to correct its tilt, by 30 degrees. The starboard nacelle is damaged, and venting highly ionized plasma with a slight quantum signature. The plasma is making it impossible for ship identification. Once sensors are restored perhaps an increase to them for high resolution would correct this.

She responded to Tactical.
"Do your best to get a clear reading on shield strength and operating capacity."
An idea was starting to form. One that was so unlikely that most would have dismissed it out of hand. The "shadow" had first presented as unrecognizable and then later appeared to conform to Federation design. It was now venting plasma in the manner of a vessel equipped with an AQS drive. She had read of an experimental morphing system and if she understood the physics correctly, a solar storm such as the one they'd just encountered, would wreak havoc on a hull that was not made of pure nutronium and unless the powerhouse was properly shielded, the bonds would be seriously weakened. The result could well be exactly what they were looking at now, a crippled ship, weakened by radiation and being held together by what little shielding they had left.
(OOC The Ness Class Hull allows a ship's hull to reconfigure and appear as another ship class.)

Watching the terminal he sees the Dhivael is in good hands. He continues to monitor, still holding his neca. Thoughts of the Homeworld swirling in his head................

Though still facing the viewscreen, she addressed the oira in general.
"We do not know at this point if they are venting plasma to control their situation or because they have suffered a breach. Until we do, keep shields at maximum at move us to a safe distance. If the fighters are not able to scan, recall them to the ship. There is no point in putting them at risk. I need that shield reading as soon as possible."

Through the ionic radiation, it seemed as if the ship was badly damaged, though no call information came from the vessel, however, it was obvious that plasma was venting into space from the actual nacelle via a breach. It seemed as if it was approximately 60% contained, which is why the power systems were just barely registering through the haze of the radiation.
However, it seemed as if there were 'hotspots' of power built up around the weapon systems, which could be from the batteries in that section (weapons were charged when power was lost), or set as a ploy. One would not know until the sensors did clear up more from the radiation surge.

"le, erie'Riov. My senors are showing their shields are holding, the strength of their shields are fluctuating."
"I'm getting readings on the other ship that indicate that plasma is venting from a breech in the nacelle. It would appear that they are working to contain it and from my readings I judge it to be at 60%."

The oira was quiet, every officer working to clear the interference the radiation, first from the anomaly and the storm and now from the damaged ship, had caused. The shadow ship had power still. They had righted themselves using impulse power and there were a few areas visible to the sensors that indicated weapons had power as well.
"We need a clearer picture and it seems that if our shadow wants assistance, they are doing very little to ask for it. Set disruptors at lowest level and fire near but not at her. Try to disrupt or siphon off some of the radiation and see if we can get our scans inside."

"Hna'h" (Engage/Fire)
Liordra leaned forward expectantly in her seat, waiting to see the shadow's response.

With disruptors at the lowest setting, she fired close enough to the shadow, but far enough to let them know it was not an attack. As expected the second volley, began to have its effect and by disrupting the radiation enough to allow a better scan.
"lhhei, the fire has had the desired effect. We will now be able to use all our scans more efficiently."

She tapped on her com link. "Engineering I need a complete check of tactical. A repair to targeting which is off by .6, and now my sensors."
Vrih heard Veralen responded to him about a problem with the targeting and her sensors. "I will imediately adjust it.", he replied to her.
His finger quickly went across his console to do a complete scan of tactical. Adjusted the targetting, to correct the problem. He also worked on getting the sensors working better. His other hand quickly moved across the console to help begin to work on the power for communications. He looked up and stopped an engineering team. Ordered them to head over to medical bay to begin on repairs.
Vrih looked back at his console and tapped on his commbadge. +T+ Engineering to Tactical, the adjustment has been made on targeting. All sensors should be working better.", he replied to her.

She heard the chirp of her comm badge then listened to the Chief engineer. She wished it was corrected before she fired the disruptor's, however her correction worked well.
"Understood, Hann'yyo (thank you)."
Then looking at the erie'Riov, "lhhei, Engineering has informed me that targeting and tactical scans have been repaired."

Tapping on her com badge. "Engineering this is Capt Imaru Kor, the main console in the Marine Staging area is sluggish. After you have tended to the major problems, please attend to this."
Then tapping on her comm badge. "Sgt Claness, continue on your patrol. Report anything of interest."
