Thomas and I have finally gotten all moved in. The children have adjusted well to their new home... but I think babies will adjust to anything as long as they have food and a crib, and loving parents. I like this new ship and I'm getting to know the crew already. I was starting to feel lost on the Tarawa... I needed the change, but I still miss some of my comrades on Tarawa.
Thomas is too busy, I think, to miss his uncle. I don't know what I would do without Thomas, and I'm eternally grateful we remained assigned together.
The technology on this ship is impressive. We have several new holograms... similar to an EMH, but they perform tasks other than medical treatments, such as security and engineering. Hopefully this isn't the start of our being replaced on starships... for I would miss the exploration.

We are awaiting final clearance to leave for our first mission. I don't even know the details of our first mission yet, but I hope it's something exciting. I get ansy after such a long break from the action.
I'm so thankful that my family is here. I know that many Starfleet officers have to leave their families behind... which is the one thing I don't like about Starfleet very much.
