As Zarlena got into position for Melvin to strike at the command structure she know they would begin to concentrate fire on the Tar. Her fingers danced across the console as she brought a very special evasive program. She hadn't named it yet except for a code.
She designed this after being on a boat on Catalina Lake. There was this flying insect kept evading the fish that would leap out of the water for an insect snack. The insect did this for so long she laughed and playfully spoke to it. "Little insect your game while pleasing to you, fascinating to me, is tauting the fish. Your game will be your end."
The fish never caught the insect, and a new evasive pattern was developed based on some of the movements the insect made. It took over a year to perfect and would now be used for the first time. But what better time then a mock battle.
"Sir, as you asked an evasive pattern in concert with Melvin's fire has been enacted. It will indeed surprise them."
Then she thought to herself in the last few seconds of the Tar receiving the coded pattern and its start. First he wants to play chicken whatever that is, and he wants me to dance. Perhaps thats a dancing chicken game?

She stood behind the security console and placed one hand on the left edge. With her right hand she tapped in and looked at the major areas of coverage. Please with what she saw she looked at the view screen.
Seeing the change in the star pattern then the command structure of the Gorn ship she stood center position posed to tap in whatever command was needed.
The time of battle even mock was always an exciting time. Again she had that vague feeling of unease, and it was not battle related.

Colonel Green sat at his console and watched the events. He shook his head, its as they are reading my mind or have accessed our program.
Ah its the Chief programmer for testing of new ships I want to talk to. He tapped on his comm link.
"Colonel Masters I need you to check to see if the Tarawa accessed the main programing for new ships. I highly doubt it but General Sheridan will ask you know him."
"Oh yes indeed we all know Sheridan. I'll get on it right away even have a special team for it. You know we had not one beep from them, maybe they are just that good."
The wait seemed to take much longer then it needed to take always did. But as he suspected Masters came back and said no incursion into the program from the Tarawa.
He sat back and pull his chair closer. Tapped a few keys and the following was sent.
USS Tarawa UFMV - 70251
1) 5 walking injured from deck 3 2) 6 injured from deck 10 3) Hull weakness just developing on decks 3-7 starboard side. 4) Shields weakening on starboard side down to 94%

His console signals him of an incomming status report. He looks to Colonel Allen
"Colonel, sensors are indicating that shields are weakening on the starboard side. I estimate that starboard shields are down to 94%. Zarlena, if you can, let's try and keep the starboard side away from the Gorn's firing range"
He taps a few keys, attempting to transfer power to the shields on the starboard side

In the labs, they set up a hydrous magnesium sulfate spray that could be activated to spray on any intruders. She carefully had selected a liquid that was irritating, but not harmful, on contact. If it was swallowed, that wouldn't even be a big deal, because the only effect was it being a laxative. In a real situation, she would have picked a strong acid to spray on the enemy. There weren't even any heat or flame cautions, so in the even of a fire, they would still be safe.
The guards came away from the main door where the trap was set and stood out of range of the trap. She stood ready to activate the device. Now it was a waiting game again. Waiting to put up a fight or waiting for the end of the red alert. She had pushed nausea to the back of her mind and was ready to rock and roll.

Khellian gets the in coming damage and wounded information.
"Col. we have damage assessment and wounded. 5 walking injured from deck 3. 6 injured from deck 10. Hull weakness just developing on decks 3-7 starboard side. And as Ensign Moon reported shields on starboard side are down to 94%. However it appears engineering is compensating "
"Notifying Sickbay to dispatch to deck 6 and the 5 walking wounded are reporting now to sickbay."
Scanning area above control section of Gorn he continues,
"Showing our weapons fire 90% effective , shielding in their control area is down to 53%. It also appears that one of our fighters has scored a direct hit in their engineering section. The attack is going well Col., the Major set us in a very positive posture for this attack"
Glancing at Major Aniri he notices a slight tremor in her left antenna.
Puzzled, he wonders,
"Her attack plan is proceeding flawlessly, what could be causing her unease." He glances back and meets her eyes questioningly.

"Thank you Khellian, inform the fighters to continue pounding Engineering."
Tapping his Comm Badge,"Doctor Romberger we have injured on deck 6 get a team there asap.We also have walking wounded headed your way."
"MR. Moon work with Zarlena and get those shields around the Command deck down."
Thomas locked his fingers together he saw Khellian glance at Jaylas. He saw her antennae moving in a way he had never seen before.
"Jaylas something on your mind?"

She knew in these mock battles that they would run a intruder drill. Just when, waiting and wondering when they would get hit she blew a bubble with her gum.

Kelly dove in with the rest of the fighters he had Engineering in his sights. He unloaded all his starboard micro torpedo's.He kept firing his phasers until they almost overheated.
He jumped as he heard the proximity alarm going off.Kelly had almost got caught in a pilots worst night mare.Target fixation they called it.
He was so focused on the target he forgot to check his distance. He used his port thrusters and red lined his engines to pull his fighter off to starboard.
He had to fight with all his will not to black out from the G forces produced from the turn.Cursing he formed back up and covered his wingman as he made his run.

She was standing so she faced the center of her console when Colonel Allen spoke to her.
"Sir? At the moment, only the battle at hand is on my mind. Both you and Khellian have looked at me strangely as if asking a question. Why is that?"
She tapped on her comm link with the following message.
"All security teams be on the watch for unwanted guest. Report anything unusual. Major Aniri out.

As she heard the report come in concerning starboard shields she immediately corrected for it. Starboard was no longer facing them. She was amazed at the way her original attack run went, it was so flawless and saved on a lot of damage.
"Sir, I have repositioned the ship and attempting to keep starboard out of their reach."

"Great job Zarlena, keep us covered.Nice attack run I have never seen that one before."
He looked at Jaylas and hoped he did not offend her,"Jaylas as mt XO I just meant did you have anything else to add."
He stiffened slightly hoping she would let the question go at that.making a firm mental note not to go on her antennae movements. At least not out loud that is.

"Very well sir. I have nothing to add. The battle began as planned, and continues well under your direction. I feel that we will be boarded soon. As a result, I now concentrate my efforts to that end."

Justin notices the data coming in on the shields. He would quickly work on getting the repairs done. He would see that there has been an attempt to transfer power to the starboard shields. His hands move across the console, helping in increasing the transferring the power to the shields and adding more power for standby. He would check to make sure that it was safe enough to bring up a containment field. When he sees that it is safe to do so, he brings up the containment fields up on decks 3-7 on the starboard side.
After hearing for any other engineering reports, Justin would quickly make schedule repairs on them quickly as possible. His engineering skills working hard to keep up with the repairs, along with aide with the other engineer officers that were there, keeping one-step ahead.
