As they began their run Kol'Rah was becoming more impressed with this Earther LT.She was leading the formation and her instructions were clear and without question.
He was confused at first as they sang a silly song as they ran.He noticed however the singing was in exact beat with their pace.
Each word fell with each running footstep.Though a small thing he was amazed that it kept the entire formation in perfect harmony.They all had the same footsteps and it sounded like one giant running rather than individuals.
He was not convinced she was up to his former qaH but he would soon find out.

Thomas was in formation when he heard 1Lt Conner through the comm in the helmet. He started to pace himself as they jog down the track, keeping in pace with the others. He chanted the same words of the song that 1Lt Conner started with. It took him a little longer for him to start sweating. Even when he did start sweating, in only was a small amount. It took a bit longer before he would be pouring down sweat in the Bio Hazard armor.
Thomas noticed that some of the Marines were starting to slow down behind him, but he kept on keeping his pace. He was breathing in and out, as he should be. It was a good thing that he did drink plenty of water during the 10-minute break. He would encourage some of his fellow Marines to keep pace.

She sat there and thought for a moment. She never questioned who her superiours were or what they were like. This must be a Terran practice.
"I don't know sir. Whatever you would like to tell me would be fine."

he looks to the doctor. data comming up on main viewer doctor ::the data he inputed is flowing on the mainviewer and he looks at the padd:: hmm this is very intresting ma'am ive never seen anything like this

Thomas smiled as she told him he could tell her whatever he liked about himself.He remembered everyone tried to find out as much about their CO as possible.
It was an unwritten rule to try and break the enigma of your CO.He reminded himself what Jaylas had just told him she would not ever ask him such questions.
He sipped his Coffee,"Lets see I was born in Baltimore Maryland.It is on the North East coast of North America.Our winters get pretty cold but you would consider it a hot summer on yours."
"My parents were both marines on a Galaxy class,the USS Endeavor.You may have heard about her in the Academy.She was lost near the Ferrangi border.They have never solved that mystery."
"I was on Earth living with my Grand Parents at the time.I have an older brother who designs Star Ships,and a younger sister who is the Science Officer on the Eagle a Sovereign class."
He leaned forward,"I enjoy reading ,working out,and music.As I have told you I believe in leading by example.I think a ship should be ran like a family,when one of is hurt we all bleed."
"Of course we always need to be strong in front of the crew.It is you and I that they will turn too when things get rough.I will never ask anyone on this ship to do something I would not do."
He stood,"We should be getting back on the Bridge,we don't want people thinking we are eating crumpets and having a tea party."
"One more thing Jaylas,as my XO as I said you have to be strong.Yet you need to listen if some one has a problem.Try and put yourself in their position before you make a comment or a decision."He walked back out with her to the Bridge.

Kyah woke refreshed and she put on some workout clothes. She went to find wherever the training room was. She saw a bunch people running around the track in biohazard suits. She saw Thomas and waved to him, smiling, and went to find a less crowded place for her PT. She went to a stair stepper type machine and turned it on and started her workout. She started at a slower speed and moved the speed up after she had warmed up.

As he spoke she listened intently. Hoping some of her observations of humans in general would be solved. But not enough.
As he mentioned the winters he was accustomed to, she remembered, when she told one in kethni, of the winter she experienced on Earth. He was a child of 5 and could not fathom a winter where ice, snow melted to reveal the ground beneath them completely. She and the few other Andorians at the academy stayed indoors most of the time. It was simply to hot, but it was within the high tolerable range. He ended the revelation by saying, "Thank you Jaylas, but next time do not pretend so much. There is always snow and ice."
When he related the story of this parents death her antennae drooped and her eyes looked down for a second. Both sets of her parents were still alive. Jaylas was already aware of how lucky she was to have them. Although, at one time, her thavan (birth father) came close to dying after a ushaan (ritual duel). In the end, it was his opponent who died.
When he spoke of the expectations he had for her and the crew she memorized these. This she would do,and inspire others to fulfill them. She knew and understood the concept he spoke of. She was born into, and grew up living those concepts.
And was it not expressed in, The First Truth which proclaims, "One alone cannot be Whole - nor two, nor three. What one chooses, is chosen for all. What befalls one, befalls all. Their lives are yours. My life is theirs."
"Do not be concerned Colonel, when a member of this ship speaks to me I will listen with full attention, attending to it as if he/she was a member of my birth kethni.
She walked out with him and sat in the chair for the executive officer.

Chuck sees the CO and XO come back to the bridge and take thier seats. He turns and reports that he is getting some very good data on the nebula and also what may be a star-birth occuring. "There is one localized heat trace that accompanied with a gravity well, seems to indicate a star forming.

While Thomas was running round the track with the other Marines, he saw Kyah waving and smiling at him. He returned the smile and wave to her as he came around the track. He noticed what she was wearing and that she was there for a workout. He would like to over there and talk to her, but he was still on duty and was in a middle of a drill. He knew he would see her later on after he gets off duty.
Thomas noticed he was slightly lagging back a bit and quickly corrected himself to keep in pace with the others. He hoped that 1Lt Conner did not noticed him lagging a bit because he knew he would get his butt chewed out. He knew that Sgt Kol’rah was right beside him and there was a good chance he may notice. Thomas kept on jogging along with the others, as if there was nothing wrong. Chanting the song that 1Lt Conner started with for them all to keep in pace.

Continuing diagnostics, Aztec fine tunes the transporters. Looking up he finally starts taking in the bridge and his fellow crew around him. Emotions of excitement, wonder, the starting of new relationships... His senses start to over load and he feels another migraine coming on. Opening a small medicine bag that he wears under his tunic he takes out a strong pill and swallows it. Relief starts out slowly.
A half hour passes and the headache has diminished. Back to his instruments he tries to shield the emotions around him.

Thomas nodded at her statement,"Very good Jaylas I could not ask for any thing more."
He took his seat as she did the same,looking around he saw the Bridge was running smoothly.In fact you would think this crew had been together for years .
He looked at the time,"Well it is about time for Beta shift to come on duty.We all have a busy day tomorrow."
He stood and stretched slightly,He saw Beta shift already reporting in."I suggest everyone relax this evening and get some rest."
With that he stood ",I will be in my quarters for awhile."Chuckling as he headed for the TL.It was not like he could not be found wherever he went on the ship.
((OOC The Tarawa will work in shifts.All Characters on the roster are Alpha shift.This gives the crew time to socialize and interact together,as well as develop their characters and have side story lines.I will notify on the boards when it is time for Alpha shift to report.))

Kelly listened as Kestra agreed with him on being able to mourn the past but not to dwell in it."Thanks Kestra great advice from a great listener."
He looked at the time."Well you two its time for a shift change.This pilot is now off duty."He handed Akoval his data PADD,"Good work Akoval if you have more idea's let me know in the morning."
He headed out of the Hangar,"Hey maybe I will see you both in Five Forward."

Jaylas stood up and went to her console to check on a few things before leaving the bridge. Seeing that the shift change took place without any hitches she turned going to the TL. As the doors opened she stepped in.
"Computer officers deck"
As the TL moved she thought about the day and how different it was then she expected. When the TL stopped she got out and walked the short distance to their quarters.

nodded to Lt roberts "yes perhaps i wil meet you later for a bite to eat in the lounge still very curious about your human interactions myself " shaking his head in a small chuckle and tapping his com badge "Jaylas how would you feel about a little time out of our quarters and in the lounge?"

Morgan finished the run very impressed that not one marine dropped out.
She took her helmet off and motioned for the others to do the same.She ran her hand through her no sweaty short brown hair.
"Like I said earlier we marines work hard and we play hard,I will be in Five Forward in one hour exactly.Any marine from this company who is there the first round is on me."
With that she stiffened."COMPANY DISMISSED!"She walked into her office and wrote out her daily report.She quickly got up walked to the TL and headed for her quarters.
