He looks up at his Gonaiih'saehne (helm officer) and then at the New York's crew member. This was another unsettling prospect that he might eventually be forced to deal with. Since the 'Travelers' had left Vulcan and colonized the new home worlds, Rihannsu-a had stayed very strict in relationships outside the race. In ancient days it was very much frowned on often causing banishment from ch"Rihan for the unfortunate citizen that wandered from the nest, so to say.
He looked at Riov Eviess for guidance on this new development in interspecies relationships. He had to make sure his officers and crew were above reproach and ready at all times. Emotional and physical bonding were matters not for the bridge. Rihannsu-a bond-mates could work independently of each other as separate units, never letting emotion for their mate get in the way. Honor bond to the ship and Empire first was essential. Could a Rihannsu have a relationship with another race and be as effective in battle or as honor bond?
He would discuss this more with Eviess, but for now he needed her guidance." Riov Radaik?"

She looked up at Baccus and nodded.
"I know you will, enjoy yourself. But if you leave now you will miss dessert and coffee." She smiled to her as she said it.
Hearing Galan being so formal she was thrown off for a minute, then she smiled at him.
"Le Riov Cretak, how may I be of assistance." There was a playful glint in her eyes.

She senses that Riov Cretak doesn't like her, but that's alright. She was used to being misunderstood and she would rather prove her worth like she had to Riov Radaik. She smiles at both captains, then replies to Riov Radaik. "That's alright, ma'am. Perhaps we can get dessert to go?"
She then bows to Riov Cretak, like she had seen Romulans do out of respect. "Thank you for the dinner invitation. The food was good. I apologize for my lack of appetite, I do not intend to be rude."
She then waits patiently for Terrh.

his eyes went back and forth from Riov Cretak to Zandile and back again and get the unsettling feeling that the Riov didn't approve of his being with her since she was not Rhiannsu'. Frankly, at this moment in time, Him and Zandile were just friends and he didnt care what Riov Cretak thought of her. Terrh liked Zandile and if things developed beyond the bounds of friendship, he would not be opposed to that idea.
His eyes fell upon Riov Radaik, as she smiled at Zandile and mentioned desert and something called coffee. He blinked, surprised by Riov Radaik's lack of formality and in the back of his mind, he thought he could get to like Riov Radaik, as a Commander, if he should decide to transfer to another Rhiannsu vessel. He turned back to Zandile a moment when Riov Radaik turned to Riov Cretak, and le,( yes ) he caught the playful glint in her eyes, which surprised him further, but he tried not to let it show. He looked at Zandile with a questioned look
"What is Coffee"?

She raises a brow at him, then smiles. "Coffee? It's a beverage found on Earth, with variations on several other worlds that are similar so they are also called coffee... but basically it's a ground up and roasted nuts that are seeped in water. It perks you up, and some claim that it's very addictive. I'm one of the ones who never managed to aquire a taste for coffee."

She took a sip of her water and finished her meal.
Smiling at him, "I'm sure as the months pass there will be many times we dine together, duty schedules allowing. Everyone knows about where I'm from, tell me a little of where you are from. I've never visited that area."
Taking another sip of her water she waited for his answer.

She looked at Erie'Arrain Terrh Sahen, and her eyes narrowed slightly. Then she figured it out.
"Le, Erie'Arrain, hholaer (coffee. Has three times the stimulant of espresso). I said coffee for Lt. Baccus, I should have added hholaer."

He heard Lt Baccus's answer to his inquiry on coffee then turned back toward Riov Radaik as she narrowed her eyes at him, understanding now when he heard her answer
"Ah, hholaer. I apologize for my ignorance of the beverage. it's just that I have never had any before. By the sounds of it.." glancing back to Lt Baccus "..it does not sound very good, if it is, as you say, addicting. perhaps it is good that you never aquired the taste, Zandile, that way you would not get addicted to it"
A smile crossed his lips, attempting a bit of humor for Zandile and the Riovs

"Many people enjoy the taste, and they need the boost it provides as well. It's personal preference. Perhaps the Romulan version, hholaer is better." She shrugs slightly, but smiles little.

He would watched her as she responded to him. Giving a smile as he remembers Avretrel, his birth home. Just at the corner of the Jendranax Strait and North Mendlanar Sea. More of a sea worth town.
“I was born in Avretrel, north of Hlarek. Right at the corner of Jendranax and North Mendlanar Sea. A very sea worth town you could say. Weather there was hot and humid, something that my lungs are so use to breathing in. During the Romulan War College, when we had to deal with physical activities like running, I was so use to running longer without getting out of breath. You should see how some could not catch up. My lungs and body were so use to humidity and hot climate, that it was easy for me to run longer before over heating. ”, he would say to her with a slight laughter.
Vrih had a gleaming look in his eyes, but for only a split second. Remembering something when he was younger.
“My siblings and cousins always had fun swimming at the shores were we grew up. Always had games to see who could hold their breaths the longest.”

As he watched the interplay between Eviess and the two junior officers and he ponders. The relaxed, almost playful way she handled the intercourse made him suddenly feel at ease. With sigh he gave a thin smile and playful glint in her eyes gave him a slight chill.
Addressing the two younger officers he says,
"Indeed you will miss dessert but I am sure the chef will be able to supply you a few morsels to bring back to the New York, Lieutenant."
He looks into Lt Baccus's eyes and suddenly realizes she feels uneasy around him. Giving her a broader smile to help over come the awkwardness of a few moments before he says,
"Now don't keep my helm officer up all evening. He has a full days work cut out for him getting ready for our shake down. Now enjoy your tour."
Turning back to Eviess he says quietly under his breath, "Hann'yyo, I see I still have a lot to learn, e'lev." He catches himself, momentarily startled that his affection for her was verbalized.

He saw Riov Cretak's comforting smile as he tried to assure Zandile and to quell her uneasiness. He inched closer to Zandile, unaware he had done so
"Now don't keep my helm officer up all evening. He has a full days work cut out for him getting ready for our shake down. Now enjoy your tour" he heard from Cretak and a side of his lips twitched upward slightly, thinking that he wouldnt mind staying up with Zandile all hours of the night so that they can visit with each other. His sense of duty and his romulan mind set kicked in and he mentally reprimanded himself for such thoughts. He bowed to the two Riovs again, respectfully
"If you'll excuse us, then, Riov(s)?!"

"As did I, Galan in the beginning. I was the only Rihannsu here for a long time. Or so it seemed to me. Over 6 months, there was a lot to learn and to overcome. As you will experience also."
"Do not look for problems, they will come in time as they seem to. I know you well Galan, or least I did at one time. You will meet each challenge as you always have. Head on, intelligently, and doing what is best of all concerned. Its one of the things that held me as a young cadet."
She sits back and reaches for her ihor'yeho (a berry juice), and takes a sip. She smiled as he called her e'lev (Romulan term of endearment). Looking at him, she saw he was startled at the revelation.
"I too Galan, have felt a re-awaking of the feelings we shared do not be so startled by this. Enjoy it." Her voice changed and the playful glint in her eyes returned. It felt good to be with him again, and lessened the pain she felt over losing Ejuil.

He smiles, recovering from his slip.
"Hann'yyo for your confidence in me. I will do my utmost to bring honor to the Elements and Empire." then,
"Le Eviess it is also good to be with you again. I have to be honest and tell you that when I learned of your planned bonding I was saddened. Yet I was also happy that you had found someone to share your life. I am sorry for your loss, Ejuil was a good person.
Looking straight into her eyes he says,
"But there has been to much loss; it is now a time to rebuild and steer our destinies in a positive direction. I would like to see where the Elements take us, Eviess, e'lev."
As he waits for what he has said to sink in he looks out over the lounge. Seeing two Rihannsu officers looking at each other he smiles in slight amusement as he says to Eviess,
"I see your operations officer and assistant medical officer are together. "They appear to be deep in conversation. Her eyes appear to be a slight shade of violet, or could that just be the lighting? Are they bonded?"

As Dan'lia sips the hholaer, she looks over at the Riovs talking to Zandile and the crewman of the Dhivael. As they left, Riov Cretak met her gaze. "Taev, why are the Riovs looking at us like that?"
