::Anarra sat down in her new comfortable office and began her log.::
After being debriefed after the loss of the Alliance, we have finally been given a new ship. The New York, is deffinitly alot larger then the Alliance, everything seems much bigger here.::Anarra realized that this wasnt much of an officers log, but she wanted to get her feelings down somewhere.:: I plan on doing final medical checks with in the week of all of the officers to make sure they are still doing ok, and to get their files into the ships record. The Now Captain Radaik, has been refusing to get a medical checkup since we were rescued. On a sadder note i plan on especially checking up on Candela Greene, she didnt look so good at the de briefing of the captain, perhaps it is a side affect of the loss of her baby. I know she was deeply affected by that loss.::Anarra came to a stop here, she made a note on her view screen to schedule Candela for an appointment.::
After checking everything out in sickbay and getting alot more supplies that we needed i have found that the New Yorks sickbay is fully opperational now, and we are ready for any paitents. Hopefully none too serious. Computer End Log ::Anarra then got back to work scheduling appointements for different paitents and checking on her new sickbay::

::Anarra entered her office after getting a request from Lt. Malc. She was short staffed as it was, why did he have to make this request now. Anarra scanned her personnel's files to find the right people for the job::

Begin Log...Lt. Malc our chief of security has made a request to assign two members of my medical staff to his newly formed X-team. While I see the purpose in this, it is quite an inconvenience to be down 2 members in my staff, especially during an emergency.
However Lt. Malc does out rank me so effective immediately I am transferring Doctor Marcus Battus, and Nurse Nyla Moran to his team, they both have sufficient records that include some background in basic combat tactics. I'm sure Lt. Malc will be training them more in what he wants specifically."

Begin log...While most of the pre launch and launch activities i hear went well...down in sickbay it was another matter entirely. Ensign Montag came in near the start of shift saying that she was feeling out of control of her own body, she also presented symptoms of dizziness, and shaking. After a complete work up i found that the only problem was in her surprisingly high pheromone levels...which were on the high end of the scale even for a Orion female. Further more I believe that her illness is stemmed from the loss of her baby, I'm not exactly sure how but there must be a correlation.

I'm also afraid that her illness is having affect on others.::Anarra remembers throwing everything across the room, she glances into sick bay from her office and fowns....it was very disorderly know to say the least.:: In order for her not to have this affect i will probably need to put her in stasis, and then find a treatment.

I have searched all medical data banks to find if there have been any cases like this before...unfortanatly the Orions don't give us much information, and the only expert I know is currently unconscious. I plan on sending the Orion government all of the data that i receive and ask them if something like this has happened before and if there is a cure. For Canedla's life there had better be.

I also need to get the captain down here to know of Ensign Montag's status, and the prognosis.

Begin Log...After what seemed like an extremely long wait I finally received information about a cure for Ensign Montage. While the treatment is fairly simple it requires the patient’s systems to completely regenerate requiring her to stay in stasis for several more days. I am also going to recommend a few days of rest before she goes back to duty. After talking with our ships counselor we both thought it would be a good idea for her to get counseling. However the Counselor feels like he shouldn't be the one to do the counseling...I'm not exactly sure why, but I'm sure we will make the proper arrangements.

The shakedown went very well from my standpoint, all of my staff performed wonderfully in spite of the fact that my time was spent treating Candela during most of it. I am confident that in a real emergency they will perform excellently and be very efficient. I am currently working on a list of candidates to be field medics on away missions. I know the X-team is taking two of my staff for such an occasion, but I feel that we should have a team ready that is experienced in treating patients in the field.

Perhaps I will even take page out of Lt. Malc's book and have them train some on the holodek in case of emergency situations. In med school we all were trained to treat patients in unusual conditions, but a refresher course is always a good idea.

On a personal note my good friend Zandile Rey has joined the New York. She is adjusting well to her new position at helm I suspected she would. It will be nice to see another familiar face on board the New York. I must confess that this crew has become very much like a family to me. I should have gotten to star ship duty a long time ago.

After numerous tests today on Ensign Montage I finally think she is ready to come out of stasis. I want to run a few more tests just to make sure, but I am almost 100% positive she will come out of stasis today. That should be good news to everyone who has been worried about her. I have also contacted her husband, and I am hoping he will be able to make it to give her emotional support when she comes out of stasis.

Lt. Malc came in today as well after he injured his back, I am not surprised at this, it seems he has been working harder then any one else to get the New York ready for our first mission. Hopefully he wont work himself too hard that I will be seeing him every week.

I am still looking at members of my medical staff that are qualified to be field medics.

We finally woke Candela up from stasis, the results were not what i had wanted, but i must confess i suspected that she would be more then a little emotioanlly tramatized by the experience. She lost a child and blames herself for it all...that is a loss that not many get over. For now she is resting and is taking time off. I released her today to her quarters but only after she promised to start seeing the couselor. She could possibly be back on duty in a week I hope. I'm also hoping that we can get ahold of her husband soon so that she can speak with him. She needs the support now from him more then any other time.

In other news the shakedown finally finished and delayed being able to take Candela out of stasis. We got action down here in sickbay as the intruders infultrated our deck, after a small shoot out I was able to disarm them along with Ensign Tyler Baccus. It was a nice change to have things exciting around here not that its not exciting in sickbay, its just a different kind of exciting. I am a believer in having change in your schedule, it keeps you on your toes and keeps life interesting..::laughing:: not that its not interesting around here.

Candela Montage has been released, I will still have to give her a few more injections, and she will be going through couseling, but otherwise she is fit to return to duty.
I have also required all crew members to come in now and get their yearly physicals due to starfleet standads. Several have already come in right away, but I am expecting the rest of the crew to come in when the have the time.
The first mission has gone well so far, I have been briefed on the situation on the planet as for as the virus and the famine go. Sickbay teams are ready to go at a moments notice if needed to help treat the virus on the planet...untill then we sit quiet waiting. This has allowed my staff to get to know eachother more and to work together more. Since the shakedown we just havnt had the time for that lately. Hopefully everything will go well with this mission.

I am currently on an away mission treating the virus on the planet, and trying to give supplies to stop the famine, with only a limited away team, that is a hard thing to accomplish. I have two other medical team away members other then my self and three security personal as well. Which i believe would be better served handing out food and medical supplies to the people rather then guarding us. I can work better with out a watchdog following me wherever i go.

Were are still on the away mission...theyre are many more sick than i origianally expected plus i have been informed that there are three more shuttles coming out way with people who have the virus. In order to speed things up to treat the influx of people i have gotten more security and medical teams down here to assist with more supplies, as well as having the people form into lines to make it a somewhat orderly process. I am unsure of how well it will work out once the new arrivals have gotten here. I also have gotten the security personal to hand out rations and deal with the local politicians...that way i get the security forces out of my way so i can work and the politicans arnt bugging me. A good plan if i say so my self. ::Smiles::

The transports have arrived, there is more work to be done.

The away mission is finally complete most of the sick have been treated and the rest were handled by medical personal on Acmar 3 once we gave them some more supplies so that they can treat their own people.

The Security team helped tremendously with the away mission by getting the people to form into orderly lines so there wasnt a mob scene. ASEC Tyler Baccus helped a great deal as well in getting the food and supplies handed out so that relief could come to the people suffuring in the famine that the planet has also been having. The supplies and medicine should last them 3 months but i suspect they will need more to feed their people after the three months is up.

Now that we are safely back on board I intend to rest a bit more then I used to, I probably work to hard and too long of hours, after all i wouldnt want to get sick my self. Some good news is that I was promoted to Liutenent J.G. which feels very good right now after putting in so much work.

I would like to take some scans in the next few days of the Away team just to make sure they weren't affected by the virus. I will coordinate my efforts with our new CNS so that we can make sure they werent affected emotionally either.::she pauses.:: It wasn't the best sight in the world after all seeing all of the sick people down on the planet.

For now I am going off duty as the next shift is now taking its place. I have orderd the medical away team to get plenty of rest and to relax after this away mission. I should probably follow my own advice.

Tyler Baccus stopped by during the shift today he seemed rather off from normal, over worried about people and he seemed more worried about other people then himself. However the problems are not medical i checked that out to make sure at his own request...no this is different, he must have been affected alot more by the events on Acmar 3 then I thought. Perhaps when we get a new couselor he will talk to someone. But for now I will try and fill both positions.

Candela came down as well to make sure that her treatments were going well which they have. She is doing much better emotionally as well. Although she was a bit exhasted, so i had her rest more often which she promissed she would.

Now that the Acmar mission is over things have quieted down here in sickbay. We have recently been told that we have some visitors aboard some ambasadors i believe but i havnt heard much. I really should get up to the bridge more often to keep up with the news.::smiles.::

Things today were a bit different than normal, the captain arranged a dinner in honor of the ambasador and scientists that we are escorting. This was a welcome diversion for me since i hadn't seen them yet and i havn't been out of sickbay much other then to sleep.

However midway through the dinner the captain and ensign baccus were called out in an emergence and a few minutes later so was I. I joined them to find that one of the human scientists was murdered in his quartes. I will be performing an autopsy shortley but preliminary scans show that he died of 5 stab wounds to the back causing massive blood loss and damage to vital organs. The autopsy will hopefully show more, but it will not tell me why he was killed, that is Ensign Baccus's job. I however will assist him any way medically that i can.

Begin Log...Things have gotten even more complicated in the murder investigation. Another victim has shown up and this time there was no DNA strands to find at all. Ensign Baccus also informs me that the scientist has an alabi and i have checked the hair sample he gave us...and it does not match the one that was found at the original scene. I still have yet to do another autopsy on the nausican, but I am more worried then ever. What if there is a starfleet officer who is on board and is a traitor. I know its not my department, but I cant help but feel i must have missed something in the first autopsy to be fooled into thinking that a Ktarian had been the murderer.

To make things even more complicated we were attacked by 3 orion ships. We did not sustain too much damage and there were no casualites on board. We did have some scrapes and a broken arm or two, but nothing that can't be fixed.

I performed yet another autopsy...this one finding the killer was a lyran. However as soon as we found that out and tried to track down the killer we found out how they got on the ship..and off it again. I think ensign baccus was rather dissapointed not to catch the killer. Im just glad that hes gone now, and sickbay has returned to its normal flow.

On a side note i finally got to go to the bridge, I will have to go there more often since it seems thats where all the action is. It was an enjoyable experience.
