He looks at David "Perhaps" he then looks at Yhea "The Riov might think the same as my Family I am a disgrace to Rhiannsu"
He takes a deep breath to calm himself "My people yes but my Family should respect me" he takes a bite of his food

Shaking his head he thought for a second how he should handle Ejiul. He was Rihannsu and yet he acted very differently than any other he had ever met.His job was not to judge Ejiul but perhaps there was truth in Lt. Suders words.
"Ejiul au should be aware that bringing glory to this ship, the Riov, and the Empire is the first step to having family acceptance."
That is all he would say about this subject matter to Ejiul in public. The rest would be in private at a later time."Ensign Suder how long before your children will be able to make sentences and such using telepathy? Is it faster than they form words or do they work at about the same pace?

Like all things in life the words will come in time to them. As they learn them vocally they'll use them telepathicly. I am sure their father will encourage them to speak out loud as I encourage them to speak with their minds. Its difficult for telepathic Betazoids to speak vocally to others, so you can say that the gift they have been given is also their greatest downfall. They will be looked upon with hesitation by others, because they are telepahtic. Their accomplishments down played and it will be hard for them to make friends. That is exsperance talking not motherly instincts.
She then took a drink of water to seamingly compose herself.
See just like you we got our way of looking at the world.
Her eyes showed none of the pigment that normally would be in them.
I could break through your defences and violate your privet world. I was trained to be a weapon. Its my choice now weather or not I use that training. I chose not to. Yet I get the feeling everytime I'm around someone who is scared to death of telepaths that I'm some sort of monster. I was born with this. I didn't chose because beleive me if I had a choice I would chose not to have telepathy. To not have that be my primary communication path, but since I can't chose it I chose to live with the stairs, the distrust, and the things I was forced to do in order to survive.
She looked down at the floor squeezing her eyes shut before looking back at him.
I'm sorry for the outburst...just can't hold it in anymore. The marine in me is wanting you to know that if I wanted to harm you I would have done it already. To shake you to understand that I'm not the enemy.
She sighed and rubed her face.
But I know no matter how many words I say or how much I tell you. That its on your terms you will trust.

He listened intently to Ensign Suder. When she changed subject on him and began talking about how hard it is to live as a telepath and how if she were his enemy she would have already caused injury of some type to him.
The whole time he showed no emotion his face completely impassive .When she finished a slight smile crossed his face."Ensign Suder I think I need to explain a few things to au.I am Gai'Shian I know in Federation that simply translates to marine but it is much more than that."
"I will not bore au with the details but I will say this.Thousands try and get into this group of warrior training but very few are taken.I do not tell au this because of anything as petty as bragging I am simply stating a fact.If I considered au an enemy au would be dead."
"I would have no remorse for my actions it would simply be done period. So if I have given au the impression au are my enemy I assure au that is not true.Au are like me a crew member of this ship and we both have the same intentions. That is to carry out our duties and complete our mission."
"Yes I know many think Rihannsu are only cold robots raised from birth to mindlessly do our jobs.I have a question for au.If I disliked au why would I be sitting here holding your child and asking au questions about your culture?"
He had said enough and stopped to take a drink of his juice.Thinking to himself why do the Federation races accept Andorians and Klingons for what they are but have such problems accepting his people?

He sits and listens to Jane and Yhea conversation as he eat "ie, many races think we all act the same" he then arches his eyebrow "Rihannsu believe this about us as well"
He takes a drink "We are as diversified as any other race"

She didn't say a word just got up from the table and went to the port to stair out of it. Folding her hands across her chest she just staired out there her eyes were not the same as she walked into the room. She then came back to the table, Remember when the Federation thought your kind a threat to their survival? Before the war that brought both to relize without the other survival was bleak? What if I told you the Federation implomented similar measures to protect itself that the Romulan Empire was being perceived to do, and one of those measures was looking you right in the eyes telling you the truth.

He kept the slight smile on his face as Ensign Suder talked. He adjusted his arms to make sure not to wake up Lon."Ie tensions before the war were high at times I admit."Yet they were just perceptions."
"I have found the truth is very subjective,it is based on ones beliefs and point of view.So often many different people have totally different version's of what they perceive as the truth."
Taking a drink of his juice,"As au said yourself Ensign Suder that is in the past and thats where it belongs in the past.I prefer to work on the present."
In his mind he began to realize his people might never be fully accepted. It was much like being caught in quick sand. The more au struggled the faster au sank.

He simply sat and listened to the exchange between Jane and Yhea, a little surprised by it all but he didn't say or look surprised
Occasionally, Ejiul would comment but he really didn't know what to say in the matter. He held little Jemma, watching as Jane rose to go to the viewport. He also kept one ey on his son, Lon, in Yhea's arms
He simply nodded in agreement about leaving what happened in the past, and working on the present

She looked at Yhea for a long moment before relaxing back in her chair and jut stairing off into space. Not being one to really carry on lenghty converstations about her training and even telling him was breaching protical she had to collect her thoughts again. When she did speak it was in an even tone.
The past maybe the past but that still doesn't change who I am now. What the Federation made me into being nor the training I have to push out of my mind just to sit calmly and carry on a converstation with anyone. That's the very real present that impacts the fuchure.

He took a drink of his water before he started playing with Jemma again, continuing to listen to the conversation at the table
Something occured to hm even after Yhea had stated that they should leave the past in the past and focus on the present. He interjected his thoughts into the conversation "Sometimes that is easier said then done, Yhea. Oftentimes, what happens to us in the past shapes us into who we are today and affects who we are in the future"
He glanced over to Lon to see how he was doing

"Ie the past does shape us to a degree. But ultimately we decide who we are and who we are to become.I will put it this way.If au had a father who was a murderer and au knew this as a child this would affect who au are."
"Yet does that condemn au to becoming one yourself no.We can be guided by past experiences but if we allow ourselves to be ruled by them then they will consume us and we will become nothing more."
"We must use the past and the present to mold us so we can aspire to be more than we are now.Of course their are racial traits and many other subconscious traits we inherit that we have no control over."
"I am simply saying if we allow the past to control us that is where we will stay in the past.Do au both not want little Lon here to aspire to be better than au are?I think that is one universal trait all races have. The hope no the belief that our children become better than we could ever hope to be."

Ejiul was setting with his eyes closed listing to Jane and Yhea talk back and forth.
He opened one eye and looked at Jane "Did the Federation force au into that training?" he then opens the other eye.
And looks to David then everyone "what we learn today will soon be the past, it effects us but does not control us"
He tilts his head "Their are still those who think that way. look at the rough factions in all our groups still wanting us to be enemies, but their are more who say dhat! we shall have peace! we need peace!"
"We are not controlled by our past we learn and adapt to make our own future's" he says still half a sleep

She looked at Yhea, My children will be better than me. That I do not have to hope for because I already know that.
Hearing Ejiul pose his question made her have to look at the floor and hold onto the chair arms for a while before she was able to answer him. It was becoming more of a struggle for her to control the emotions this conversation was siring in her.
Yes, if I didn’t go into the training then I would have been decommissioned. Not to mention my family was threatened as was my unit. I felt duty bound to take the training. At the time I saw no possibility of a family or even of another person in my life. Now that I have everything to lose the training is coming back and its making it very hard on me to keep calm. She looked at David her eyes completely black none of the color there just a plead.
~Help me…please.~

As he listened to Ens. Suder he never spoke he just absorbed what she said and her apparent emotional reaction to what she was saying. He had never heard of the Federation making threats on people or their families to do a task.
Of course there was still so much to learn about the Federation he knew he would never fully understand it.In his culture if one was called to do a duty it was considered an honor. If done correctly that honor would transcend to the Empire and to the family of the one chosen.
This was just another puzzle about the Federation he put in his collection .In his mind he hoped all the pieces would fit but for now just more questions left in his mind.

As he held Jemma and listened to the current conversation, he could feel it was stressing Jane and how she fought to keep her emotions and her training at bay
"Forgive me, gentlemen, but let us discuss another topic then that of our dark pasts." He looked at Yhea and Ejiul, who is half asleep "Please, tell us more about Ch'Rihan or other worlds that you have visited"
He rhen leaned in closer to Jane, after he recieved her mental plea for help, placing his forehead on hers, looking into the black depths of her eyes ~ Imzadi. It is alright. You shouldn't get so worked up. There is no one here to harm or threaten you, me or your family. I am now here with you and you won't lose anything. I am sure you will still be with us for many years to come and watch our children grow up and find bond mates of their own so we can become grandparents. ~ He smiled at her outwardly, to assure her he spoke the truth
