They talk telepathiclly now because that's what they have been doing since they were six months. They'll do pictures but not words right now. They don't know how to form words. Just pictures. Its part of developing telepathic abilties and something all Betazoids are born with. Its not a choice at least not when both our parents are telepaths like mine were. I don't know about David's, but at least one had to be a telepath to make Jemma and Lon telepathic.
She took a drink of ice water as all the talking was making her tired. Being more pron to talk telepathically talking verbally wore on her a bit harder then normal.

"That does seem to be the most reasonable way to begin communications.It is far easier to make a mental picture than to form words.We do that in our thoughts now images more than words.And being born telepathic it would also seem natural to try and communicate that way since it is easier and more efficient to do so."
He let Lon put his finger in his little mouth.Looking at him reminded him of the short time of pure innocence he would have.He hoped he would cherish it.Because when he grew older it would be stripped away by the harsh truths that lay in the galaxy.

He was tickling Jemma and smiling at her she was giggling and cooing when he notice Jen
"Are you OK Jen?" he asks worried about his friend
He looks back a Jemma "I think your Mommy is a little tired? what do you think?"

Looking at Ensign Suder she did show signs of fatigue."I hope au are well Ensign Suder Ejiul is correct au do look tired.I hope au get plenty of rest.One cannot function properly without it."
He stopped for a moment as Lon cooed at him and projected a light orange in his mind."Not enough rest can cause au to be less than optimal as a mother and as part of the oria crew.I have been studying Betazoids and their culture but I am only beginning.Do au use meditation?It is a wonderful way to refocus and center ones self.It helps au put things in priority as well.If au do not know such techniques perhaps I and or Ejiul could give both au and Lt Suder some suggestions to help au learn such techniques."

He merely sat back and watched as Ejiul and Yhea enjoyed spending time with Jane and his son and daughter. After a time, he began to feel that Jane was starting to feel tired again and he looked to her, speaking to her mind ~ Yhea and Ejiul are right. You do look a bit tired, Imzadi. Would you like to go back to our quarters and rest? ~

She spoke, I'll be alright it is an adjustment for me to talk vocally all the time. Sometimes it wears on me but it is for a breif moment. As for meditation, that is something I do not do. I can not speak for my husband, because some chose to meditate or learn to do so.
She then mentally spoke to her husband, ~I'll be alright just give me time to adjust.~ She put her hand in his, ~ I think our Romulan crewmates are enjoying their time with our children. I have not seen this side of Romulans before and did not know they could be so carring.~
Lon's mouth was around Yhea's finger as he projected his color to him. Happly cooing and sucking on it like a passifyer. Jane couldn't help but smile at her son he was behaving so well.
Jemma looked at Ejiul and ferrowed her brow not quit understanding what he was talking about instead projected a picture to him of a puppy playing in green grass. Giving up on thinking about what he said in the process and giggling.

He nods to Jane, then looks back a Jemma ferrowed her brow making him smile then Jemma send a picture of a puppy playing in green grass. Jemma then giggled
"That is very nice picture Jemma" he says then he says to Jane and David "I wish I could send her a picture back"

He nodded at Jane as she mentally told him that she would be fine and needed a little time to adjust. He smiled a bit as she added that she thought the two romulans before them were enjoying holding their children ~ I've not seen that side either, my love. Usually they are stoic and without emotion, like a Vulcan. Ejiul and Yhea are showing us that they aren't always that way ~
He turned to Ejiul as he said that he wished he could send a color back "What color would you want to send?" He inquired curiously

He looks at David "She sent me a picture of a puppy playing in green grass I would like to a picture of a Llurh"
He pictures it in his mind " Its a small furry creature that resembles an earth cat. The Llurh's have longer ears like a rabbit, and will give off a soft, quiet mewing sound when petted"
He smiles he had one as a pet when he was a child

With Ejiul's permission, he slipped into his mmind to retrieve the image of the Llurh and took a mental picture of it. Smiling, he comments "cute cat"
He then comes right back out of Ejiul's mind, then sending a mental image of the Llurh to Jemma, Jane and Lon, then waited for their responses

He raised his brow in curiosity as Ejiul lowered his mental shield to be allowed to Lt. Suder to go into his mind and retrieve the picture of a Llurh.That was most unusual for a Rihannsu to do.His training as a Gai'Shian would never allow him to do such a thing.To him it was unthinkable.
As he played with Lon and listened he reminded himself that Ejiul was very open for a Rihannsu.They like any other race had different personalities and as the Terran's say he was more of a free spirit by far than he was.The discipline was still there Ejiul could ease up on it more than he could however.
As he was thinking Lon showed him a picture of a ball rolling across the room."I must say they are learning fast.Ejiul saw a puppy and I am seeing a ball rolling across the room.I am sure au are both very proud parents indeed."

She had to look at David and raise a brow to hear him say something like that must have meant Ejiul trusted him. We're very proud of what they can do this early on. Seames they have captured a couple of Romulan hearts along the way of learning how to talk. She smiled a bit looking at Yhea, I know that you'll never be as open to us as Ejiul as far as letting your guard down, but I do hope one day perhaps you will be able to let go for a second or two some of your training to consider it.
Lon was sucking his thumb looking up at Yhea pulling at his uniform a bit curious about the things that were on it. Seams Lon wants to know how your uniform tastes. Already he knows marines are meant to be admired. She chuckled a bit as he was playing with Yhea's uniform.

A slight smile came across his face as he listened to Ensign Suder talk to him about being more open."Ie perhaps that day will come and I will ponder everything au you have talked to me about."
He let Lon pull on his uniform and play with it."For now however I am who I am.I have seen that it puzzles most lloann'mhrahel I mean Federation races that I am what au call stoic.Yet to me the actions you take and do are just as puzzling."
"I want au to consider this however.Andorians are in the Federation and in many ways are far harsher than Rihannsu.They to are a warrior race and like us have certain inane traits that we both share.Much like Terran's and Bajoran's have quite a bit in common.I will say this,I find this line of conversation very stimulating and for that I thank au."

He spoke up, not meaning to offend "I know most Romulans are stoic when they arer around other people, other races. I heard that they were more animated, more emotional when in private. Course, I think that is the way of it with most races" He smiled and looked at Jane
Then back to Yhea "Andorians are quite the noble warriors, just like Rihannsu" and dare he say it "and Klingons. I believe that some races, although they could be different, they do have similiar traits, if they decide to see them"

"Ie many races do have commonalities.Warrior races often have a sense of honor that is considered strange by others.Yet all races can be warriors if pushed or trained to that limit.The ones who confuse me most are Terran's.
"They seem to be a hybrid race that is slowly developing into something all together different.I have studied Terran's with great interest and au will find they have fought wars so intense so brutal they nearly exterminated themselves more than three times.Nuclear weapons on their own people was common in the late 21st century."
He watched as Lon pulled at his rank pip and smiled slightly."Enough talk about our differences and such perhaps au two would humor me and tell me about Betazed."
