Ship News
USS New York NCC 71868
The New York continues on to the Science Station at Aldebran II. They are still investigating the murders. Fortunately there haven't been anymore. The means whereby the Nacussian was able to enter the ship undetected has been discovered as well as the escape route that was used. But how could he traverse the ship without detection is what is being investigated
It was the new XO who assisted science and Ops, in discovering the way this was done. Apparently they were able to punch a hole in the shields large enough for a small ship to transfer him along the X and Y bands. The scientist and diplomat remain confined to quarters for their own safety.
USS Aryes NCC 81204
The Aryes continues on its course to Bajor. The Orb remains in their position, and has placed in a secure area until it can be placed in a Bajoran temple. This orb was originally stolen form Bajor while the individuals responsible remain unknown.
While they were headed back they were attacked by Cardassians. Why would they be so interested in this orb? This is the second time they have attacked since the orb was discovered.
101st Marine Pathfinders
USS Pegasus NCC 25347
The Pegasus is still at the supply and ship yard Zed-12 in the Qualor system. A trap was set to discover the person or persons who are responsible for the missing parts. No sooner was this accomplished then an unauthorized ship entered the yard. It was a ferrengi ship, and it was at first willing to destroy its cargo or so it was said.
They did jettison the cargo hold and we were able to recover the Federation property they held. But many questions remain unanswered.
USS Frontier NCC 11385
The Frontier was canceled to give its members a chance to celebrate New Years Eve and will resume simming on Saturday. The CO sends a message hoping everyone enjoyed a safe and fun filled New Years Eve.
Board sims
USS Vindicator NCC 16052
The ground crew for the first time in awhile is enjoying some down time in the mess tent. The audious task of clean up and preparing to leave Tolnac II is underway.
Colonel Keraz has done well in taking care of his people and repelling the Lyran incursion. We wish him well as they prepare to return to the Vindicator and possibility the last of the Lyran's in this area. There was a battle cruiser in orbit hopefully after seeing what happened to the ground forces they leave.
USS Terrasect NCC 70000
The Terrasect has left to meet the new XO at the starbase and will then circumvent the RNZ. Finally reaching a destination that will involve a first contact. This is an exciting time for the Terrrasect and we wish them well.

Fleet wide News
Greetings and Salutations
Welcome everyone to 2006. Or 2386 in our role play. I hope that everyone had a fantastic and safe holiday.
I wanted to say to everyone thank you all for making the United Forces a success. We've managed to keep our group more than stable, and for that, we bow to the membership.
I would like to make everyone aware of a new addition to our website. This addition isn't material, however, is a part of a voting service to pin the United Forces against other groups, and sites. If we can maintain a high ranking, more and more people will visit our site, which in turn may help with recruitment.
Recruitment is paramount for a sim and role play group such as ours. That is why we always have our Recruit Room on AOL Chat open and available at all times. Hopefully, if we all pitch together and once a month click on this link (which, for reference, is on the main welcome page near the bottom), we can open up another avenue for recruitment, as well as making our fine group more open to other simmers eyes. Our website is at www.stunitedforces.com .
If anyone has any questions, or comments about any sim, the website, or anything else, please feel free to contact me by email or Instant Message.
Again, I wish everyone a Happy New Year. Good luck to us all in 2006!
Sincerely,
Fleet Admiral James A. Harsting-Sonhi
Co-CinC, Naval Commandant
CO of USS Terrasect NCC-70000

United Forces -- The Beginnings
A year ago today an event took place that would propel the rooted idea of a new sim group into reality. Due to inner power struggles, poor leadership, unclear vision of the groups founder, and rank fixation of certain members of my former group, I could no longer remain there. From here 3 other events took place within 24 hours for the final straw to be laid in place and this General left. I allowed the Pegasus to remain there for another week. Before going Indie.
Once word was out, I had three groups approach me to become the Marine Commandant for each one. And to serve on the command staffs for them. I attended meetings of these groups and learned I was already voted to be on their respective command staff. However, I quickly learned the visions of these groups concerning a Marine Division wasn't anything I had envisioned. In fact is was more of the same old, same old.
The day of my last meeting General Levy met with me and said, "Well, General? What do we do next I'm resigning with you." I told him not to do that. But if you have ever overheard two Generals, who are thick headed you can well imagine the conversation.
Once again it turned to the discussion of the new sim group, that in my mind was very clear in its vision. But the key or core elements was the Marine division.
They would be respected by fleet side officers in command.
They would be given a change for promotions based on performance and not the whim of the group's founder or command staff.
They would share equally with fleet side in standing within the fleet.
They would no longer be a glorified security force.
The needs of the Marines in equipment, policies, type of missions etc.
This group would have dedicated Marine sims.
After outlining my vision General Levy asked what it would be called. At this time for me it was still an idea nothing firm, after tossing out several names, UNITED FORCES stood out. Clearly stating the fact that this was a united sim group of Marines and Navy. Why Navy and not just Marines? ::smiles:: For another time.

Interview
by
special interviewer this week Tyler Baccus
The person chosen for this is totally random. However this week Lt Jg Tyler Baccus will dazzle you as he places Flt Gen. J Weslynes.
Flt General Jenina Alearin Weslynes
Tyler W Baccus [2:57 P.M.]: Good Afternoon General Weslynes.
Jenina Weslynes1 [2:58 P.M.]: Hello how are you
Tyler W Baccus [2:58 P.M.]: I am great, and yourself?
Jenina Weslynes1 [2:58 P.M.]: Doing good thank you.
Tyler W Baccus [2:59 P.M.]: That is great to hear.
Tyler W Baccus [3:00 P.M.]: I drew the name out of the hat today, and you are the lastest victim this week.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:01 P.M.]: Really ::laughing::
Tyler W Baccus [3:01 P.M.]: Yep, ::Grins.:: and since you cannot interview yourself, I will be doing the honors.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:02 P.M.]: ::laughing:: Very well but who's idea is this and its a good one.
Tyler W Baccus [3:04 P.M.]: Hehe, I decided that since you have been terrorizing the members of the UF by putting them on the hot seat weekly, that perhaps we should stick you on the hot seat for a while.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:05 P.M.]: ::smiles:: I agree and have never placed myself above anything that is done in the UF.
Tyler W Baccus [3:05 P.M.]: Well, good. Are you ready to play Twenty One Questions?
Tyler W Baccus [3:06 P.M.]: ::Laughing.:: Well perhaps not that many.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:07 P.M.]: Sure why not.
Tyler W Baccus [3:08 P.M.]: Alright, lets get this show on the road then.
Tyler W Baccus [3:09 P.M.]: I personally have always wondered what goes on in a day in the life of a Fleet General, and I'm sure many of the members have as well. What are some of the duties and tasks you perform that we members may not know about?
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:13 P.M.]: It begins with reading all of the postings on the boards while having a cup of coffee. Followed by making notations on those things I want to go over on later. Then I usually check my mail. By this time I am awake enough to engage in conversations with members who are online. I converse with command staff members when needed on various issues. Go over the membership list and make adjustments where necessary. I also begin to work on the next issue of the newsletter then immediately after the mailing
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:14 P.M.]: of the new one. I am also working on various projects such as award ribbons, etc. However no matter how busy my day is I always have time for any member who wishes to talk to me.
Tyler W Baccus [3:15 P.M.]: It seems that you are quite a busy person.
Tyler W Baccus [3:16 P.M.]: Do you enjoy being the Fleet General?
Tyler W Baccus [3:16 P.M.]: Excuse me...
Tyler W Baccus [3:16 P.M.]: What do you enjoy about being the Fleet General?
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:16 P.M.]: Yes I do. I find it very challenging and rewarding.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:18 P.M.]: I enjoy most of the things surrounding my position. I suppose what I enjoy the most is seeing the growth of the United Forces and the individual character development of each of its members.
Tyler W Baccus [3:20 P.M.]: In addition to being the Fleet General, you are the Commanding Officer of the USS Pegasus. What do you enjoy the most about Commanding a starship?
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:25 P.M.]: I have command the Pegasus for nearly a year and half . I enjoy working with a crew on a more personal level as commanding officer and the development of storylines. On this level its a more personal involvement with the crew. Getting to see the individual growth of the character and how they are progressing within the fleet.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:26 P.M.]: And for some reason they relate better to you as General, then as the *Fleet General*. When its really the same person.
Tyler W Baccus [3:27 P.M.]: I have noticed that myself, I guess the title can be intimidating.
Tyler W Baccus [3:27 P.M.]: Do you have any thoughts or impressions about your crew?
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:34 P.M.]: I love the crew of the Pegasus. Most of us have worked together for a long time and we know each other well and what is expected. They all work hard and interact well with each other. And when a new member comes in they accept them without hesitation. As I said I am blessed with a wonderful crew and with the wonderful members of the UF.
Tyler W Baccus [3:35 P.M.]: Well, You obviously enjoy your job , but what made you decide to join Starfleet?
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:42 P.M.]: Before the occupation of Betazed I was a peacekeeper and then I was recruited into the underground. I was taught some skills (can you wait a few? I need to do something real fast)
Tyler W Baccus [3:43 P.M.]: (Okies, tell me when you are ready to resume.)
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:44 P.M.]: (ok sorry its important)
Tyler W Baccus [3:44 P.M.]: lol no worries
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:52 P.M.]: (back sorry) Thank you for your patience and understanding. As I was saying, I was taught some skills that quite frankly cause many Betazoids to be uncomfortable and mistrusting. I know as time goes on and all of us who were taught those skills never use them against anyone the feeling will leave. The only thing which would allow me to have a normal existence was Star Fleet who was not worried about these skills.
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:54 P.M.]: I also think on a subconscious level the love of star fleet my deceased bondmate had rubbed off on me. At any rate within a few months of joining Star Fleet I knew I made the right decision.
Tyler W Baccus [3:55 P.M.]: And we are all thankful that you made that decision.
Tyler W Baccus [3:56 P.M.]: As you have shown, you have many duties to fulfill. But I'm sure you make some time for recreation as well. What are some of your Hobbies and Interests?
Jenina Weslynes1 [3:59 P.M.]: I love music especially Betazoid popular music and chants. I also enjoy classical music. I like to read, write and dance. My more active interest include rock climbing, swimming diving, and preparing tradional Betazoid food from scratch when I'm home.
Tyler W Baccus [4:00 P.M.]: You just had to bring up food didn't you. ::Smiles.::
Tyler W Baccus [4:01 P.M.]: Well, I heard recently that you and Darius Larson are soon to be bonded. Would you care to tell the members a little about that?
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:02 P.M.]: What would you like to know?
Tyler W Baccus [4:04 P.M.]: Well, has a wedding date been set yet, what type of ceremony will it be, and all that other good stuff.
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:10 P.M.]: I see ::smiles:: In the customs of Betazoids it is the responsibility of the female to propose which I did and :smiles broadly:: he accepted. Now, he's designed the house which I am having built. And he's planning the bonding ceremony. I really have little to do with this other then pay the bills for the house. The ceremony his family will want to contribute to.
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:11 P.M.]: But from our discussions so far, it will be on Betazed, tradional, and everyone in the UF will be invited. Betaziods bond for life, we don't even have a word for divorce which makes us a little cautious.
Tyler W Baccus [4:12 P.M.]: I don't think you will have to worry at all about that, you two are great together.
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:13 P.M.]: Thank you.
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:13 P.M.]: he is special
Tyler W Baccus [4:13 P.M.]: And last but not least, Is there anything you would perhaps like to see different from the members?
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:18 P.M.]: Humm not really. They are all perfect and a great bunch of people to work with. I would like then to know that contrary to rumors that I recently found out. I am always available to any member no matter what it is or how small it may seem. If its important enough for them to consider talking to me about then I want to know what it is. Their happiness, opinions, questions, thoughts or simply needing to speak to me is of utmost importance to me.
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:19 P.M.]: And to tell each and everyone of them how proud I am of them and the loyalty they have for the UF. Without them there is no UF
Tyler W Baccus [4:19 P.M.]: Very well, ::Turns the fire down.:: Your time on the hot seat has drawn to an end.
Tyler W Baccus [4:19 P.M.]: How was it?
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:22 P.M.]: Good thank you I enjoyed your questions and hope I have fully answered them.
Tyler W Baccus [4:23 P.M.]: I hope I did your usual job to your liking as well.
Jenina Weslynes1 [4:27 P.M.]: saving the IM will spell check it and it goes in the next edition.

Alien Corner
The Kazon
The Kazon are an extremely violent species, whom live in the Delta quadrant. They consist of warriors, divided into sects which are headed by a Maje. Their are 18 sects in the Kazon.
The most powerful of all Kazon sects are the Kazon-Relora and the kazon-Ogla. Children of the Kazon begin training young, and are given inhumane tasks.....such as murder. Teaching youngsters to kill at such a young age to the Kazon, means that they will grow into strong warriors.
The Kazon have warp capability however, lack replicator technology--which they desire greatly.

Board news
This weeks board activity has once again shown an increase. However, the count was complicated when one officer removed all his postings. So it is estimated from my figures a total loss of over 90 postings. This has also effected one ship in peculiar. To the crew of that ship all I can say is I am truly sorry this happened. What I can tell you is there was an additional 2 postings made within last week that was done by that officer and I have given that to your ship for this weeks count.
However, the total group postings is down considerably as already stated over 90. The new count for the total postings is 4,126. That is remarkable and attest to the active creativeness of everyone.
The USS Pegasus for the 3th week running has taken first place in overall postings with a total of 39. Followed by the USS Aryes with a total of 24.
Other areas included was the Scenario's and completed by Darius Larson. Once he completes all 8 he will join the group of officers who have already done this.
In the training center:
Major Arishela of the USS Vindicator NCC 16052 completed training for re certification in the outdoor firing range with the Mark IV Phaser Rifle. Score of 48 out of 55 Well done
Captain Zarlena Dorius of the USS Vindicator NCC 16052 completed a training exercise for Fighter Pilots. With a score of 97.2, well done.
Other news on the boards include an area for posting messages to found on the bottom of the page. We thank Fleet Admiral Harsting for discovering this and implementing.
