Thelis started to reply, getting as far as inhaling and raising a finger in punctuation. The captain of the Tarawa had no doubt tried the same tactics, attempting to divert the cloud and minimizing power systems, why do it again when the result had been so obviously negative?
"Aye, Sir." was all that came out. Of course they had to try, even if the odds weren't favorable, but another question had just come to mind.
"Captain, what happens to your neurological link if Thunder's circuits are attacked?"

He saw Thelis raise a finger, as if he wanted to say something. His ears bent forward, waiting to see what he would say, maybe something that would question his orders?
Instead Thelis acknowledged and he started to turn back to the viewscreen when he heard Thelis' question. He turned back and leveled a look on Thelis "I believe it would be quite obvious what may happen. I would also be affected IF Thunder is attacked and sustains any damage. but I think Thunder can take care of himself and won't risk being caught."
Turning back to Buford, he would tell him "Disengage Transwarp and bring us back to warp. Once we're within 10,000 kilometers of the rift, come to an all stop and activate the anti-tachyon beam to close this rift."

Terrasect and Tarawa? Action
The cloud, after a few moments, loses interest in the Tarawa and starts to go after Thunder who is showing he has more energy to snack on. As the cloud approached, Thunder begins to back up, still giving off short bursts of power to entice the cloud to follow him.
Terrasect comes out of transwarp, back into warp, then slows to impulse, then slows to a stop. Terrasect engages an anti-tachyon beam into the rift, sensors indicate it would take about 10 minutes to full closer.
Thunder, continuing to entice the cloud and backing up, backs up and disappears through the rift himself along with the red cloud a couple moments later
Captain Two Danws feel nothing from the neural link as he turned toward Thelis and asks for a status report on the Tarawa.
A few minutes later, the rift is starting to close. One minute to complete closure, no sign of Thunder.
30 seconds to go and the rift is still closing
10 seconds..
Five seconds.. Thunder bursts through the small opening of the rift as the final seconds tick down, reporting that the cloud is too far away from the rift that it cannot return in time.
Sensors now starting to show that the rift is now, finally, closed [/b]

Terrasect Action:
With the threat of the rift and the red cloud gone, the Terrasect goes to check on the Tarawa and offer assiatance with any injuries and/or any repairs, prepping the Tawara for tow back to the Starbase for repair and overhaul
Two Hours later, a tractor beam is attached to the Tawara and both ships head back to base at full Impulse
Note: With the mission aspect of this Storyline complete, both crews of the Terrasect and the Tarawa can mingle and socialize if you wish to do so.

Crio was busy helping with coordinating the efforts to assist the Tarawa, and he felt in a zone per se.
He would take a moment after the worst of the matters were handled, and all the injured were already being treated by the medical staffs of both ships to converse with the captain about the Tarawa's situation.
"Captain, a moment?" he would say with a somber tone to his voice. He would step closer to Grabfoot to speak out of earshot of the rest of the bridge crew, and he would carefully guard his inflections and wrap a tight rope on his emotions to hold back tears of relief that so many lives were saved, including Kestral.
"We still have four damage control teams over on the Tarawa working on their repairs... At their last check-in, they should have their main power systems back up by 1700 hours. On a more personal note, I'm glad we made it in time." His profound sense of relief was almost tangible, and could be seen very easily, while he held other emotions in check by sheer will.
((Forgive me for not posting sooner, as I was hoping more folks would get involved, and I stopped checking after 2-3 weeks of no new posts.))

She let out a loud breath as if she had been holding it for a while. She had gotten a little shook up about being in Transwarp that her fur was slightly damp to the touch. She looks over to see how bad the Transwarp drives and chamber in hoping that the Transwarp could not be used for a while. "What ever happened to a nice slow flight in to the stars?" She hears something as if someone walked up behind her and she just reached up and handed a PADD over. "No damage to the Transwarp Sir." Thinking that was Chief Engineer La'ta'nM behind her.

He was reviewing progress and status reports as well as damage reports for the Tarawa and the Terrasect when he heard his First Officer speak up, asking for a moment. He noted the somber tone in his voice and he seemed a bit reserved
He heard the report about the Tawara's power systems and he nodded his approval "I am also glad w were able to come in time. I would not like to think what would happen if we arrived too late." He paused, then asked "Are you feeling alright, Commander? You seem a bit reserved, somber. I do not believe that suits you, unless you've turned into a vulcan?" He asked, spiraling his tail, attempting to be humorous

I think I'll be okay.. After an earlier conversation, I'm trying to hold my emotions in check so as to hopefully avoid 'broadcasting' for everyone on the bridge to see how I'm feeling."
A slight smile comes across his face as he realizes the intended humor at the Vulcan remark.
"I think I would prefer the spots to the pointed ears and having to put even more effort to hold one's emotions in check. Although the ability to telepathically be able to look into another's mind could be interesting..."

Seeing that her shift has ended she took a deep breath and let it out, being glad that was all over with for the time being. She walked over to the Engineer Chief and looked down to him.
"Our shift has ended Sir, care to join me in the Galaxy Bar for a drink? It is on me Sir."
