Crio had finally gotten his emotions under control, and now was almost radiating with a profound determination to save the Tarawa, her crew, and any other Federation citizens that were caught up in the mess that the Tarawa was in.
He was grateful for his captain's understanding of the unusually intense emotions that he realized were 'smellable' to him and several of the bridge officers.
He was on the bridge when the new information came in, and he got up from his chair and went to a vacant science station to go over the sensor telemetry in greater detail.

"Captain!" Thelis commed to Ijoula's office. "The situation with Tarawa is worsening. Another cloud has appeared from the rift. It's larger than the previous one and it's appearance was accompanied by a shockwave that has further crippled the ship. Judging by the power emanating from the larger cloud, Tarawa's systems and crew will be drained in only a few hours."

He was looking at the sensor logs when he heard Thelis' report about a tighter time-frame for saving the Tarawa and her crew, and he stopped what he was doing and turned around to face toward the center of the bridge.
"Helmsman, what's our ETA with the Tarawa at our present speed?" he asked, as he was debating on a couple of things.

He was listing to all that was said on the bridge, the Tarawan was in a heap of trouble in his opining "Five hours at current speed Sir, don't be sounding like they got five hours" he saids and waits for further orders

He would nod slowly, stand up from the science station, walk toward the bridge railing to have eye contact with the captain. He would glance toward the captain, hoping he was thinking the same thing as he was.
He would then press his com badge.
"Bridge to Engineering, how much more speed can we coax out of the slipstream drive?"

He sat there in the Commander's office, even when he suddenly got up and walked out on him without so much as a word to him that he was leaving. An ear tipped back disdainfully. How rude.
He stood and with tail twitching he exited the commander's ready room hearing the report from Mr. Thelis, and watched as the commander seemingly took charge without consulting him. He did not look pleased when the commander looked at him
"Helm, increase to transwarp 16. That should cut our ETA by half to two-thirds." He then looked back to the commander "Engineering will just have to compensate. It would be useless to arrive to find the Tarawa drifting with all hands lost."

Buford was holding a steady course when he heard the Captain order him to increases to Transwarp 16 he quickly increased the speed "Transwarp increased to 16 New ETA 1hr 27 minutes Sir" he reports

He looked to Buford as he reported the incomming message, then listened as he patched it through, his own ear tips raising. As he listened, he could almost hear the plea in the Tarawa's officer voice
"Open a communications channel to the Tarawa" He asked Buford. When he did, he sent the following message "Tarawa, This is the Terrasect, Captain Grabfoot Of~Two Dawns speaking. We have been monitoring and picked up the new sensor readings and the plight you are currently in. We have increased our own speed to make haste in your assistance. Our current ETA is now 1 hour and 20 minutes. Terrasect out."
He used the human cutting the throat motion, indicating to close the channel. When Buford did, he added "Belay decreasing speed when we reach Sector Z-4. With the current situation, it looks as if the Tarawa cannot wait." He then addressed the bridge crew "I need ideas and plans to deal with this new threat to the Tarawa and I need them within the next hour." He glanced around, indicating he was serious and hoping someone would come up with something

He opens the comm channel to Tarawan then nods to the Captain and listens as the Captain responds to the hail, then closes the comm when the Captain said out.
He started thinking of ways to help the Tarawan out and not get them trapped in it

He would realize after meeting the captain's glance, that his impulsiveness is again getting the better of him... It would not be the first time it's gotten him into trouble, and he feared it would not be the last.
One of his biggest problems was that he did not like waiting. He had been encouraged before to speak his mind and to be ready to tackle situations as they came up. He was now having to continually figure out how to restrain that tendency.
Having discussed that matter involving Bri had likely had more impact on him and his motivations than he could realize.
"True... We should keep watch on that cloud's course, as well as find a way to shield the ship and crew from the effects of it, should it get too close during the rescue.
Wherever this cloud came from, based on the long-range telemetry so far, I can't find any matches yet in the Federation records..."
A stray thought hit him from Ijoula's vast experiences, comparing the cloud phenomena to severe storms, such as thunderstorms and hurricanes on Earth. Such storms could build up on themselves and become much stronger in a relatively short time. Part of him wondered if something similar was happening here, but involving some kind of spatial 'storm'.
"Depending on the structural integrity of the Tarawa, and the diameter of the approaching cloud and its ETA, we may be able to tow the ship out before the storm hits."

She had heard Bridge ask about increasing speed and then hears the Chief Engineer answering the Captain. She felt they were going fast enough and if they went any faster the ship would be no longer there. It was like standing on pins and needles wondering if the Captain was going to push his luck again. It was not until they slowed down that her nerves calmed down. "Well we are still in one piece and that is a good sign. Is it not Sir?"

Time, being a constant, can seem like it can go very slow or very fast, depending on the situation. In this case, it is going very slow, but it does pass. With Considerable risk to the Terrasect and a strain on warp and transwarp drives, The Terrasect comes in hot and fast ETA is now estimated at 10 minutes. Sensors would indicate the red cloud that is now enveloping the Tawara is draining the ship of it's remaining energy The Captain asks his crew to find a different power source, to encourage the cloud to disengage from the Tarawa. In the meantime, down in the Shuttle bay, Thunder powers up and leaves the shuttle bay, engaging his transwarp drive and moving ahead of the Terrasect to run interference. Once Thunder arrives, he would emit a couple of short power bursts to get the cloud's attention and draw the cloud away from the Tarawa

His ears perked a little as Thunder remotely told him that he would volunteer to intercept and attempt to draw the cloud away from the other ship. The rift needed to be closed so no other clouds come through. He addressed the bridge
"Thunder can deal with the cloud and attempt to disengage it from the Tarawa. Shut down all unnecessary power. We will engage the rift and shut it down" looks to Buford "Ready an anti-tachyon beam to counter the rift." He then turns to Thelis at Tactical "Keep an eye on that cloud, hopefully it doesn't decide to make us it's next meal."
