Time's Legacy Continued

A small furry creature about the size of the major's fist, scurried onto the bar, stopped and stood up on it's hind legs and stared boldly at Clyde before scurrying off again.

The barkeep, catching a glimpse of it as he turned back around, snapped a cloth at it's disappearing hind-end as it slipped away and under the bar, leaving a trail of noxious smelling excrement.

"Damn those things! I don't know where they come from but I know where I'd like to send to!"

He looked at furry creature as it stood on its hind legs looking at him, Clyde took a drink of Milk as the barkeep turned and snapped a cloth at it.

Clyde made a small face at the smell from the creatures trail "You need to get a cat" he laughed then took another drink

He looked around the lounge then back to the Barkeep "This Base isn't owned by 4G inc is it?" the thought of a base in this shape owned by them made him somewhat mad

After leaving the ship, he went to one of the local fast food places on the star base to get himself a drink. He heard his wife's voice on his communicator while he was in line. He tapped his badge to respond "I'll be waiting. I'm already there" when she told him that she's heading for the Starbase. He shook his head in amusement. Women were always slow, no matter the time period.

He walked out with his drink and spotted cindy. He walked up, hearing her comment that he would be late for his own funeral. He couldn't help but grin "I would say so since I've already died twice. I am sure Death or God is wondering if I will make up my mind and live or stay dead."

When Aidan's drink arrived, it had an oily sheen and smelled spoiled. Several other customers had returned to the counter with the same complaint. The owner began to swear loudly in response, then slammed closed the grating of the restaurant.

The lights in the court dimmed, brightened and then went out. After a few moments, emergency lighting was restored, casting everything in a dull red glow.

While he waited for Cindy to respond, he went to take a drink of the beverage he bought. He stopped just short as he noted it smelled a little off. Furrowing his brows, he took a better whiff. He wished he hadn't. "Phew!" He exclaimed, wrinking his nose and upper lip. "What the heck.." what a waste of a good drink. I'm gonna go complain." With that he turned to go back, just as the iron grating in front of the restaurant came down "Ok, maybe not.." he muttered, then glances up as the lights of the station started blinking like they were going to go out then went out, casting everyone and everything in darkness. He turned back to Cindy just as the emergency lighting came on, making everything look red. He sighs a bit, putting his drink down on the railing of the upper level of the walk way. "Looks like our free.. oh shoot!" The last part was said as he saw his drink slide off the railing to the ground below. He looked over the side of the railing and saw his drink sliding down the head, neck, face, shoulders, etc of someone unlucky enough to be walking there at that moment. Lucky for him, it was someone in a starfleet uniform. As he looked closer, and as the man looked up, to his chagrin and mortification. He had an Admiral's rank insignia on. He cringed and looked apologetic "Sorry" he called out, then grabbed Cindy's hand "let's go" he said, wanting to get out of there as quick as he could

She Kissed Aidan "You best stay alive" her nose wrinkled up at the smell of the drink, as she saw the iron gate for the restaurant come down then the lights flicked and went out, She took hold Aidan's arm.

When Aidan said shoot she looked over the railing she saw an Admiral wearing the drink "Yes we best Go" She quickly walks way with Aidan "That's it make an Admiral mad at you" she laughs "What is it with you boys and getting in trouble?"

The engineers at the starbase locate a nest with evidence of young. The circuit chips surrounding the nest have been chewed and judging by the smell, they have been urinated on as well. The chips are replaced and cleaned and power is restored.

The base commander issues a general alert advising that an unknown variant species of cardassian vole has appeared on the base. It was apparently brought aboard in cargo containers and once released, has begun to feed and to breed in all areas. All starbase personnel and guests should regard them as pestilent but not dangerous.

Kiele walked into the lounge. It sounded as if there was some sort of disturbance there. She stopped at the door and glanced around the room. She recognised Cindy, Aidan, and possibly Clyde. It had to be Clyde she decided, after hearing a boom of laughter from his direction. She started in but stopped again when the lights flickered. When they went out, she stepped to the side. There was a railing there she could hold onto until her eyes has adjusted. There was something soft under her foot. It squealed and she jumped, bumping into an admiral who already looked angry and who smelled. She apologised, although he didn't seem appeased, and when the power had been restored and she could see the closed grating at the establishment she'd hoped to order from, sighed and waved to Clyde. He'd know where to find something good to eat.

He already felt bad for spilling his drink, on an admiral no less. Then his wife had to rib him while he was trying to get away before he suffered the wrath of the Admiral "I didn't plan to dump it on his head, babe. It just happened." He then chuckled, despite the ribbing he was getting "I don't know. I been getting into trouble from the first moment I got here. I even got into trouble with you. I guess I am just lucky that way." He heard the alert about some kind of Cardassian vole. He blinked and looked at Cindy "A what..?"

He walked into the lounge with Cindy and seen Clyde already there. "Ok, Clyde. What you eat or destroy this time?" He said jokingly. He then turned to see the Colonel enter and behind her the admiral he had spilled his bad milkshake on "Oh sh.." He tried to look calm but he knew he was busted

During the blackout, the doors between the docking ring and the Ayres opened and closed automatically. A small animal scurried through and onto the ship.

[LtCmdr Dr. Cindy Lee McKenzie]

She was holding Aidan's arm "You boys" she laughs "Best way to describe them is a big rat but cutier, not as cute as squirrels but cute and they eat threw wires and breed like rabbits" she laughs

She listens to Aidan ask Clyde a question then say oh sh... she looked over and saw the Col and the Admiral Aidan dumped his drink on "Quick hide behind the wall"

He was finishing his milk when heard Aidan and Cindy he keep his eyes forward and laughed at Aidan's question "It wasn't my fault this time, dang Voles, things breed like tribbles"

He looks door the door when Aidan said oh sh... he Laughed louder "Way to go Aidan tick off an Admiral" he sees Kiele wave and waves her over

He nods at Cindy as she explained and described what a vole is while he nervously looked at the admiral talking with the Colonel. He glanced at Cindy as she said something about hiding behind a wall. He almost asked what wall, then he dove behind clyde as discreetly and quickly as he could

He then heard Clyde laughing along with his wife, and that annoyed him. He thought wives were supposed to be supportive and sympethetic, not laugh at her husband's misfortune. He practically hissed at Clyde as he whispered "It was an acc-i-dent." He said, annunciating each syllable "Now shut up and make like I'm not here.."

Zeela wanted to go to the base with the others. The idea that of exploring the different modifications that were a second love of hers. She was counting the boxes and scanning them with her tri-corder to scan content. Something odd came up on the Tri-corder. It was a life sign but not like one she had seen. She walked over closer as Zeela thought her self the curious type. That is when she saw it. Its matted up hair filled with dirt dust and what looked like bugs. It had yellow eyes beady little eyes and its sharp yellow fangs dripped with what could have been saliva but looked more like mucus. Zeela let out a scream before she could think how else to react. She wasn't sure if it let out a growl or a squeal, but she fell backwards on her butt trying to back away, yet afraid to take her eyes off the grotesque thing. The creature moved towards her dripping mucus it did. Zeela started a backwards crawls sliding her butt across the cargo bay. She reached for her phaser instinctively, but she had no need to bring one. "Damn!" She thought loudly. Finally in a complete state of panic she managed to get the door open. She began to run, not a run like you would see casually around the park, but a run as if you were in a competition. She was remembering everything her instructors told her to give herself maximum speed including lowering her head. She was son intent on the running that she was unable to completely stop herself and slammed into the turbo lift doors. He fingers frantically started pressing the buttons. "Computer come on!" she finally shouted and the doors opened.

She exited at the first stop her fingers pressed and it was sickbay. She ran in and jumped on top of the bio bed. All the nurses were looking her when she finally let out a roar of 'Grooooossss!!!" followed by "Get it away, get it away." She frantically started rubbing her legs and arms as if some insect were on them. It was only then that she realized her fatal mistake....She forgot to order a containment field.

Kiele took in the tableau being played out between Clyde, Aidan and Cindy and rolled her eyes in understanding. She motioned for Clyde to step aside and then for Aidan to come forward.
The Admiral had lost his scowl and was trying not to laugh at himself and at the ridiculous situation.

"Don't worry about it, lieutentant." He clapped a smelly hand on Aidan's shoulder. "I'll just have the cleaning billed to your expense account.", he said straight faced, leaving Aidan to wonder if it was a truly serious threat.

Kiele wrinkled her nose. "What was that? And whatever it was, never order it again!" Her stomach churned. If they didn't get out of here, she would lose her appetite altogether. She turned to Clyde. "I expect you've already located all the best places to eat here. Where do you recommend?"

He glared at Clyde when he did move and hissed again "No one said to.." He didn't finish, instead he straightened, plastered on a friendly, and innocent, smile "Colonel, always a pleasure to see your lovely face and you too, Admiral." He walked over as he was motioned too

He felt a wet, semi-cold and smelly, hand clap him on the back and he inwardly cringed. Not good. He then gave the Admiral an apologetic look "I'm really sorry, sir. It just... slipped. That wasn't planned. I was talking to my beautiful wife and I wasn't paying attention where I was putting it down."

He then turned to the Colonel's lovely wrinkled nose expression "That was supposed to have been an old fashioned strawberry milk shake from earth. I think they took me a little too literal in the "old fashioned" part. I won't be buying anything from them anytime soon."
