Bollix! Ethan shouted with the fire of six generations of hot English blood. He had spent hours trying to restructure what was left of the dialithium crystal chamber. If he didn't get the problem solved, warp drive would be an impossibility. He called over three engineers who were a constant pain in his backside. Ensign Torres, Brown, and Honnicut. They were always together and finished each other sentences. Ethan had dubbed them 'Larry, Moe, and Shemp'. He knew that most thought of Curly, but he fancied Shemp. It was a generic name so each of them would be called Larry at one time or another or the others. Finally, they embraced it and called themselves that. "Shemp, get your arse over here!"
"Yes sir!" Shemp(Honicutt) reported.
"The Colonel wants communication repaired," He paused as he started looking over the chamber again. "You and the other stooges get up there and assess the damage. I need to know if the communications array has been damaged outside the ship. If it has I can't spare men in space suits to repair it."
"Aye sir," He said almost hesitantly. "Uh sir, you mind if I look at that. My dad was a watch maker and he said I was really good with intricate work."
"Get along ya pup." Ethan shooed him away. "Dialithium chambers ain't pocket watches go down below and get me my assessment."
"Aye sir!" The man took off along with his companions.
Ethan went back to work looking intently at the chamber piecing the part together to that would hold the crystal. He could feel a bead of sweat come down his forehead when he heard a large thud. It cause him to lose balance and his work fell apart. "What!" He turned enraged.
"We dropped a panel sir." The young woman said frightened.
"Drop things on your own time!" He snarled. "This is delicate work here."
The girl looked as if she wanted to cry but instead pushed the tears back defiantly. Ethan would apologize later, but at least he knew she could take a punch. A good attribute to have on a star ship. He went back to work hoping he might get done this time.

He stood looking at his tricorder, after the life form died "I could not even get a DNA reading on it" he shook his head "Romulan or not they didn't deserve to die like that"
He has the Marines keep searching the decks, "Lets show this data to Andrew and the General" he says to Fetchstorm then heads for the bridge

At charlie's comment "Romulan or not, they didn't have to die like that", his ears and whiskers dropped a little as a memory comes to the surface. One of Left Ear, his former intended. One mental picture of her alive and vibrant, One mental picture of the feeling of being pushed, he turned to look back to Left Ear as she was buried. The last mental picture was of the light of her eyes dim and go out, she dying in his arms of her injuries. His heart had died with her
He brought his mind back to the present with a shake of his head "Whether anyone likes it, people die whether they deserve to or not. It is unavoidable."
With that, he followed Charlie up to the bridge to reported to the Colonel and the General

Greetings commanding and first officers of the UF, You know me as both the Executive Officer of New York and Pegasus. I have, with the approval of the Command staff been given permission to start a multi platform event. I want to point out I have used the word ‘event’ for a reason. This is not a storyline that any of you have to follow, but more an event that can either be used or ignored. I will give you a synopsis of what has gone on, and if you wish to use it feel free and if you don't, that is fine too. If you have questions, I’m just a PM or an email away.
Andrew Shackleford Synopsis: The Starship New York has disappeared. Such a thing for most ships would bear investigation, but for New York its even more precarious. New York, Along with Dhivael are the two ships being used as an experiment to see If the Federation and Romulan Star Empire can work together as allies. Unbeknownst to the Federation, and Romulans, the New York was pulled through a rift to an alternate reality. The problem is that the rift was unstable and that more unstable rifts events are happening. The most violent event as of yet is the one witnessed by Pegasus while investigating the disappearance of New York. The event destroyed the Romulan ship the CHr Khallinien. The Pegasus lay crippled and they still have to deal with the Romulans who are already on edge as the New York was equipped with one of their prized cloaking devices. What has not yet been found out: We have had ongoing investigations of three renegade groups: The Trinity comprised of rogue members of the Federation Of Planets, The Hatham composed of Romulans, and BachHa' composed of renegade Klingons. In an unprecedented move these groups have been sharing the development of a new technology based on advanced Iconian technology. What each did not realize is that the equipment they were handling was still in operation. Each time they removed a component it caused the delicate balance to be skewed. Eventually when discovered the components will have to be returned and reinstalled properly. I intend on Pegasus to take care of that main story. The effects: As of now, the sky’s the limit. There will be rifts opening up from various realities so things can get lost in and come out to menace the ships of our fleet. It is something that can either be incorporated in the sims or just commented on. The effects can be as with the Romulan ship, just the energy wave of an opening or what comes out of it. Once the components are returned things will slowly go back to normality. Information: I will be posting on both Pegasus and New York periodic reports from Starfleet along with detailed logs as to how they are handling things and what are the reactions to the event. CO’s will have the option of posting these to add info to their sim or to ignore them and get on with the business of their own stories. All optional. Starfleet Alert: There has been an event in Sector Z-6. All starships are ordered to stay clear of that sector until further notice or otherwise ordered. Admiral Darrel Beechum Assistant Director, Starfleet Operations He looked over the short message and let out a low whistle. Darrel had only had this job a week. He'd come over from supply and was told this was a less complicated assignment. He had his fill of reports when he was the head of supply division. It was a far cry from his starship days. The Texan had been know as a ‘gunslinger’ in those days; quick to attack and always ready for action. Now his job was to shuffle weapons uniforms and fuel to ship. Now he felt like a glorified air traffic controller. “Are you troubled about our Romulan friends?” He turned. It was a familiar voice. The voice of Koval. Koval was a Vulcan assigned for ambassadorial duty, but like most never stuck to the job description. If Darrel didn’t know any better the Vulcan could be titled a ‘thrill seeker’ but Vulcan’s didn’t seek thrills. ‘No,” He said absently. I ..uh was thinking about more.” He paused “Interesting times. No Ambassador, I have faith in Commodore St Claire. He’s been working with the Romulans since the treaty was originally drafted. “Interesting time?” The Vulcan raised an eyebrow which was indicative of puzzlement by his race. “You do not find the job you have challenging enough?” “Its plenty challenging, but…” He paused again. “You know..” He paused again. “Maybe you don’t” he said to himself. “Out there.” He pointed to the observation window. “In space, you know in command you can make a difference. Here you still can, but not as well directly.” The Vulcan regarded him as he stammered through his explanation and then pondered a moment himself trying to grasp what this human was saying. Finally he spoke. “Ripples in the pond Admiral. One small ripple can create a great upheaval. Never underestimate your impact on the universe.” “You are right, of course.” He bowed and conceded. “But I still reserve the right to growl occasionally." He said with a smile. “I believe the phrase is 'Your bark is worse than your bite’?” The Vulcan retorted. Darrel had brought up a cup of coffee to his lips and had work to keep from spraying it on the viewport. He nodded silently to the Vulcan and made a silent prayer that whatever was happening was isolated to one area.

Andy saw Greathouse make his proclamation on the bridge, and in front of the General no less. He let his hands grip his chair and then relax. He looked at the General, and gave her a silent nod. He would take care of this embarrassment immediately. "Greathouse, Koval, and Testra..The Conference room now." He said in a quiet but deadly tone. He stood up and entered the conference room without delay not looking behind to see who was following.

He followed Greathouse to the bridge, he headed back to his station when he heard the man put him, and Koval, on report. He shook his head, thinking this is not going to be a good assignment, especially if him and Greathouse are going to be butting heads, especially on whether or not he is to protect Koval. That's his business. Not Greathouse's
He sighed, turned and followed the two men into the conferance room, noting the quiet steel menace in the First officer's tone. This wouldn't be good. Not a first good impression on a commanding officer

This was not making her happy to be called into the office by the XO was the worst thing that she thought could happen. Her and Michael on the same ship she knew was a bad idea but there were reasons behind it. Those reasons though didn't ease the uneasy thoughts she had on the situation. The only sign that she was at all fulsterated with the situation was a sigh that she let out when the first officer was off the bridge. The two men quickly disapeared into the room but she lingared on the bridge just a few moments more to inform her second in command of the department that she was going to be delayed for a while and to do what is right by the ship.
Clasping her hands behind her back she walked towards the office as though she were just called in for a leasure break and not something drastic. She didn't want it to appear as though she were cracking under pressure because she wasn't this was mild in comparison to what happened on her previous mission that is now apart of the classified files of her service to the Federation.
Her mood and posture changed once she was in the room to one of total Romulan military control. She stood at attention and waited for the first officer to speak his peace because he had something to say to all three of them. What and to what degree she was going to have to edgucate him on Romulan traditions she didn't know. All she knew was that in the moment she was being and the rest would come as it came to be dealt with.

Andy didn't look at the two new officers. He wanted them to sit in their own insignificance for the moment. Whatever was going on they needed to know their rolel so addressing the ranking officer first was in the way of a lesson. "Why am I here?" Andy said talking to the Security Chief with a familiar yet slightly stern tone.

Looks at Andy "Because I felt Testra was auguring my orders, and I must report that" he says
"I asked him to go with Doc to sickbay, he keep talking to Koval" he never takes his eyes from Andy "I then felt he didn't obey orders, and sent Koval you staid she go with the doc, I told Testera to stay with me, he said I go with her" I tilt my head
"I said you obey orders, he said I obey her orders, I then said I gave you a direct order he growled and stayed" I say

Andy listened and nodded his head. "Alright Captain Greathouse, you are dismissed. I'll follow up with you after this meeting. In the meantime, we have limited time here so I suggest you have a report ready for me with more information in it than this incident. Dismissed."

He turns to Koval, regarding her for a moment. "Okay, how do you fit into this?" He asked curiously. "How is it that I've got my helm officer disobeying orders in your name. Is there something I need to know?"
