I want them to know how to cook before they get old enough to ask why dinner is taking so long. She then absent mindedly ran a hand through her hair. " Not to mention David doesn't seam to get indigestion so bad when I do it that way."

"I too prefer to prepare my own meals." He put two bowls down and two plates of salad. "I taught cooking as part of my survival class in the academy. How to find, and prepare food when marooned."

She laughed, "I think that just about everyone was put through that. I was put through it as a marine I know for sure. They didn't want us getting...distracted when we were unable to find feild rashions to survive on."

"I enjoyed my time as an instructor." He came as close to a smile as he would ever thinking reflectively. "I think a place of pure thought and learning is something as close to home as I can get."

She looked at the table reflecting a bit on her stay in the acadamy before looking back at him. " However, I understand what you are saying, because there at the school there is no need to carry a weapon and there is a feel to the palce that is much calmer then a starship."

"Yes," He snapped back to reality with her words. "That is the reason I took this posting. I wanted to both learn and teach. The Romulans here don't understand and will never speak of it, but there are those on their home world who do wish to return to the ways of Surak. I don't intend to force that on those here. That is not my mission or goal. I only wish to serve as an example as a Federation officer, and as a Vulcan."

We master our emotions because our emotions and passions are so strong that to unleash them would be not just the undoing of us individually, but as a people. It isn't that we don't fee. It is that we feel too much and therefore are forced to keep our emotions in check. It was one o the reason we spent so much time around humans. Their ability to not be overwhelmed by emotions fascinated us."[/b]

She naturally took a drink of water shortly after he did listening to his explanation of his people. Jane of all people knew somewhat how Vulcans were, but to be conversing with one, that was far off her scale of imagining. So when she spoke next she choose her words carefully. " Yes I know but if you chose to go through with the Kholinar you will be so disciplined that you will forget what it is like not to be. You will lose the part of yourself that you have come to know an accept as being untamable. That is what makes Romulans so drawn to you and not afraid. They see the part of you that is still free from discipline and therefore see apart of them in you. That is how you are able to reach them and be teacher even though pride wouldn't permit such admissions out loud."

He holds her in his arms "It serves the best vyinn a'Rhyanne dinner (a white fished when cooked found in the rivers) a little rhennish (purplish dry wine) to go with it?" he asks
