A Test of the Mind

She returned from ch'Rihan after receiving advanced tactical training. The new Maenek was on the shuttle with her. They had a pleasant and uneventful trip. And knowing it was her shift after dropping off her things she went directly to the oria.

After coming to attention and saluting "erei'Arrain Veralen Sahen reporting for duty." As she said that she handed her padd containing her orders.

He looks at the engineer "Au are not hear to help him, au hear to remove him" says in a neutral voice

Walking off the shuttle his mind was on what shape the hifvai'rhe was in.He did not know how well the former maenek had left it.He had other things he needed to do first.Dropping his belongings off in his assigned quarters he made his way to the oria.

Looking he saw the eriei'Arrain that had come aboard with him already there and presenting her orders to the Riov.Snapping off a crisp salute as well he waited his turn to speak to the Riov.

A shuttle was reported to be approaching the Dhivael's coordinates as soon as he returned to the Oria, the saehne reported that the shuttle is carrying the new maenek aboard. He merely nodded and passed the information to the Riov's desk in her ready room

He turned and glanced at the Arrain that has walked onto the Oria, his arm still in a sling from his recent injury. Upon his salute, he returned it with a casual air. "The Riov is currently detained at this time. If you wish to report in, I am Sub Commander Zareth."

Coming in behind the new Arrain is a familiar and welcome face. He saluted Sahen. took the PADD that she offered, read it, and offered it back. "Welcome back, erei'Arrain. It is good to see you have returned safely. You may resume your station."

"le, erei'Riov." She went to the tactical station entering her access code, she ran a quick diagnostic, then read the reports she had.

Seeing the erei 'Riov he quickly turned to face him.Waiting until he was done with erei'Arrain Sahen before speaking."erei'Riov Arrain Nvied Viaen reporting for duty as the ships new maenek."He held out his orders PADD for him to look over.

Turning back to the new Maenek, he took the PADD he offered, reading over the orders, then handing the PADD back. Welcome aboard, Arrain. I shall inform the Riov that au have reported in. Do you have any questions before au begin your duties?"

She was finished with the project she was working on for the Khrein. It was long and very exacting. To be honest, she was glad it was over. And she looked forward to returning to her station. But knew she was at the beck and call of the Khrein. Still to return to the oria was welcomed.

She entered the oria and went to her station reading the backlog of reports that she needed to attend to. Besides being a diplomatic officer, she was now also an inter-fleet communication officer. Recently added to that was a personal assistant to the Khrein for her various projects.

All of this was very good for her career of course and would offer her many chances to advance and excel it was none the less tiring and at times daunting.

Listening closely to the erei'Riov as he spoke.Thinking for a split second."Dhat Rekkhai I wish to get to work in hifvai'rhe.As the maenek I need to make sure I am familiar where everything is and what supplies I have to work with."

Standing at attention waiting to see what if anything the erei'Riov had to say to him.

He listened to the Arrain as he spoke, having no questions. He gave a slight nod

"Very well. Au may go and start your duty shift. Dismissed."

Giving a crisp nod back he quickly turned and entered the TL.Once the doors closed he simply stated hifvai'rhe and waited for the TL to take him to his destination.

Renn sees the confused engineer having decided to wait till the teams arrived. He shakes his head and taps his communicator. "Medical, this is emergency team. I need you to send a Maenak down to deck ten. I have a dead officer lodged in the bulkhead, and a Chief Engineer needing his hand held in extracting him. I want the body put back in condition for return to his family. Additionally, there's also another dead officer on the other side that needs return and also prepared for return to her family."

He was going over the reports when the request from the emergency team hailed him and informed him of the situation.Again his brow raised his curiosity as to how this happened was piqued.

Deciding he would ask questions once he got there.Tapping his COMM Badge."le I am on my way."He gathered a team of three nurses and the proper equipment he would need.Of course the engineer would have to cut the bodies out but he would assist as best as he could.He left his office with his medical team entered the TL and rode it to his destination deck ten.

She was in her make shift office going over the information she had on the current events. If it were not for the ones who kept her informed she would know nothing. Was it cautionary or foolishness on t'Takars part?

It was hard to tell, but whatever was causing it, had moved past being eccentric. And if it was ambition it needed to be reigned in, before it back fired on her. A mistake many made and then regretted it.

She finished her tea and then returned to the reports she had to finish.

As he arrived at the area the emergency team was located he saw the gruesome sight.Looking around he saw a Bajoran male who seemed to be in charge of the situation.."I am maenek Viaen what has happened here they look as if they phased through the deck plating some how."
