With disruptor still in hand, he felt a transporter grab hold of him and he was transported.
Materializing on the Transporter PADD of the Dhivael, he holstered his fire arm and stepped off the PADD, just as the Daise Dheno had done. His comm come to life with the voice of the Riov "Subcommander, I will expect you and your team to be ready for debriefing in...." She started to tell him when the ship, and him, was violently shaken and he was knocked into the nearest wall. He grunted at the impact and turned to see t'Stellam regaining her feet and heading for the exit. He turned and followed, assuming her intended destination is the Oria
He thought momentary that is was the federation ship who had fired on them but if they were cloaked, they would not see them. He was unaware of the Borg cube that had entered orbit with them. He would find out once he reached the Oria

Quol felt the transport almost before he was done climbing to the top of the Borg vessel. He materialized on the Dhivael, slightly out of breath. As the ship shook around him he half-jogged through the corridors to engineering, bumping his head against the bulkhead at one point as the ship shook again from the attacks.
Upon reaching Engineering he walked in and approached the most senior officer there, a Romulan by the name of V'drel. Report? he yelled over the ship's shaking, but the other engineer ignored him and continued his business and issuing orders to the others around the room.
Quol, became suddenly aware that no one in the room was really paying attention to the shorter Ferengi, regardless of his title. A wave of panic and indignation swept over him all at once. Finally after a moment he approached V'drel and forcefully spun him around. Report. he said again.
With an annoyed look, the Romulan quickly ticked off the list of damaged components, chief among them the warp drive. After this was done he turned away from the Ferengi and went back to work... Carry on, the Starfleet Lieutenant said to the other's back, though it was obvious that the order was both unneeded and unheard by the other.
Quol felt very small at that moment as he looked at the other's back. V'drel's manner said enough of what he thought of the new Chief Engineer, and maybe he was right. Quol was a theoretical scientist and engineer, not a leader, and certainly not a Romulan. He had no business being in charge of the Dhivael's personnel, but he could do other things, and right now no one knew the ship's engines better than him.
With grim resolve he grabbed his tool box and headed for the QS Drive. He managed to muster up enough authority to clear out the junior officer that was fumbling his way through the engine's innards, and he got to work. The ship shook around him, but he tried not to let it rattle him as he began reconfiguring the quantum wave spectrum.

Post by Captain Shran on Dec 13, 2008 10:37:45 GMT -5
The ship shakes around them as they take another hit from the Borg weapons. Shran grabs the arms of his chair to remain in his seat. Idly he notices that the Borg are only taking a defensive position over the crashed ship. Regardless of their monotone boast he doubts if assimilation is their top priority here.
The counselor to his left at the ops station breaths a sigh of relief, before reporting. Got them all she says as she deactivates the transport. The teams are back aboard and silently her captain mimics the relief sigh which she made.
Without hesitation The Andorian moves his full attention to the chief petty officer at the helm. "Full warp. Get us out of here." The woman nods once and Shran watches the viewscreen as the ship turns and the stars erupt into thin lines.
Within moments of hitting warp Inid Kiara, Aidan McKenzie, and T'Lar arrive back on the bridge. Shran watches as Captain Inid relieves the petty officer of her duties and retakes the helm position. T'Lar takes her seat next to him signaling that everyone is back and safe. Shran feels almost happy. "Good to have you back, Commander. We'll debrief later."
Next he turns his attention back to the Counselor, "Are the Borg pursuing?"
No, Sir she says as she takes her seat beside him.
The Vulcan commander, always the professional accepted it all with a small nod before returning back to her duties. Report.
After a moment Captain Inid chimes in. "Sensor are reading that the Dhivael has been disabled. Helm can only go to 1/4 impulse and warp 6."
Next Ensign McKenzie speaks. Shields are at 38%, we have lost several secondary systems. We have breaches on Decks 13, and 16. We have casualties still reporting in.
It we use the tractor beam, it would only slow us down and cause us to become crippled ourselves, sir. I suggest if we could beam the Dhivael personnel aboard, said T'Lar
As Shran was considering the option the counselor was the next to speak. The Romulans will not leave their ship
"Engineering is reporting that we have full impulse back, Captain," said The Bajoran helms-woman. That was at least a small bit of good news, thought Shran.
We can fight but I suggest we not do it for long, said McKenzie.
"What is you opinion Commander? I suppose we could always run..." says Shran as he turns toward his XO. His comment was nothing more than a grim jest and everyone knew that running was not an option.
We should at least fight long enough to be able to get them out of there, sir, said T'Lar in her level tone.
His chief engineer's face can be seen at a side console in the bridge's engineering section. Captain I agree with Mac. We have so much structural damage that the maneuvers required for high level combat will begin to take a toll.
Finally Shran stands from his seat and looks at his crew. "You and Mr. McKenzie's objections are duly noted, Lieutenant... If we die, I will give you both a recomendation..." Shran felt oddly light hearted, regardless of the fact that he could very well be ordering his entire crew to their death to save a Romulan ship. "Captain, plot a course back toward the Romulans," he ordered looking to the helm position.
Personally sir, if I die a second time, i would rather die fighting, says Ensign McKenzie.
Personally I'm not a Klingon and don't want to go out of my way to die in battle or any other way. Shran ignores the banter of his tactical officer and chief engineer and takes his seat again.
"Yes, sir," says Kiara Inid as Shran feels the Aryes drop from warp speed and turn back around. "Course plotted."
Could this ship fire an EMP at the Borg, suggested his counselor.
"Nothing that would probably be effective, but I want you and Lieutenant Collins to look into it," Said Shran imitating a human smile. He had already calculated a very low success rate for any sort of Electromagnetic Pulse. The Borg were not that weak or unprepared.
"Let's give the Borg something to think about," says Shran as he turns to his XO. "Once more into the breach, Commander." He readdresses his helm officer.
"Engage, Captain." The ship lurches forward, the Borg cube growing steadily in their viewscreen.

Aidan Looked at the Captain, saying "Personally sir, if I die a second time, I would rather die fighting"
The Captain responded by saying "That is the spirit, Ensign. I want all weapons to maximum yield. Let's give the Borg something to think about."
He gave the captain a hard, determined look "Yes, Sir! I'll hit the Borg ship with everything we have, even the kitchen sink, if we have one"
He looked over to Cindy at Ops for a moment before turning his attention to his tactical display, and started tapping keys, making the weapons as hot as he could, ready to fire them at maximum yield. He pondered momentarily that he died now, he wouldn't get another chance, so he was going to make the next few minutes count. Maybe his life would have some meaning then, right at it's last moments
He looked back at the screen as the Ayres turned back around to engage the Borg

Liordra stood and wiped a trickle of blood from her forehead then addressed the group of stunned officers, facing them one by one.
"We survive, not because of our drive systems, not because of our cloak and not because of our weapons. We win because we refuse to acknowledge defeat!' She turned a gaze as hard as ice but as hot as the sacred Element of Fire to all the officers present .
"Flight Control (Helm), are maneuvering thrusters still operational? Impulse drives? Tactical. What is our weapons status? Shield status? Operations, get a report from engineering immediately."

As the Aryes drops out of Warp, Shran gives the order. "Fire all banks at that Borg vessel. I want a full quantum torpedo spread... Helm, Alternate between evasive patterns Garth and Iota Alpha, match you movements with Tactical... Let's see if we can't pull their attention away from the Romulans." He sits back in his seat and watches the battle unfold before him.

Saren reached the bridge and stepped out in the midst of the chaos during a battle. He looked to the view screen and saw the Borg vessel and his eyes widened a bit, mostly in surprise but then he recovered quickly
He moved over toward Liordra, noting the trickle of blood down her forehead. He was not concerned, however, she was uninjured and seemingly had full command of the Oria
He heard her voicing her commands with heated authority, seeing the fire in her eyes, blazing as hot as the Element of Fire himself. He allowed himself a bit of a smile, hearing her as she questioned each saehne on the Oria "We survive, not because of our drive systems, not because of our cloak and not because of our weapons. We win because we refuse to acknowledge defeat!'
He added a bit of a comment himself "We will win because we are the best in the Romulan Star Empire!" He said with his usual coolness but his words held heat and feeling
"Flight Control (Helm), are maneuvering thrusters still operational? Impulse drives? Tactical. What is our weapons status? Shield status? Operations, get a report from engineering immediately."
He heard the Flight Control officer respond first "Ie, Lhhei. Maneuvering Thrusters and Impulse drives are still fully operational"
He nodded in approval

"Yes, Sir!" he said with a hard, determined look "Full spread, Quantum torpedos, Phasers are scalding hot"
As Inid got within optimal weapons range, he fired a full spread of quantum torpedos, targeting what sensors determined as their weak spots, along with multiple shots from the phasers. For good measure, he fired another full spread of quantum torpedos

Lyretha stepped onto the oira. The Subcommander had transported on board only a few moments after she had. Neither of them had spoken to the other as their single purpose was get to the battle bridge as quickly as possible. She was not certain what damages the ship had sustained but from what the Riov was saying, she guessed that Dhivael had lost warp capability. As she crossed to her station, Lyretha was caught momentarily in the heat of t'Takar's gaze. It inflamed her as well and brought her desire for battle boiling to the surface. She waited breathlessly but nothing else happened. We they under attack by the Borg or not? The cube hung there seemingly ignoring them. From the planet's surface, there was a sudden flash of green light. Ten siuren-a (minutes) precisely, she noted. When the viewscreen cleared once more, the sphere, along with the phased part of the planet, were gone.

She had been watching the Borg cube , when the viewscreen flashed and a bright green light momentarily filled the oira. When it receded, the sphere was gone. Since they had been hit, the Borg had not fired at them again. Was it possible, they were unaware of what they had done? Dhivael's cloak was still operational. Had it been a blind shot that had disabled them? She held up her hand.
"Tactical, hold fire." She waited in silence, hardly daring to breathe.

He watched as the two spread of quantum torpedo's hit their mark and he was expecting a big boom to follow it. It didn't happen and his sensors had shown there was no damage at all "what the.. no way"! He exclaimed. He looked to the Captain "Captain, sensors are showing no damage.."
Suddenly he saw the green light on the view screen and then when the light cleared, Part of the planet was just gone. His jaw just dropped. He looked to his sensors to confirm what his eyes was telling him "Sir.. That ship where we were just at, the one that was partially 'melted' into the planet has.. phased completely into the planet, according to sensors
He manage to recover from his surprise somewhat and he tried to get more readings on the phased ship "No offense, sir. but I think we're in over our heads here. I think we better get out of here while the getting is good"

Shran watched from his seat as the Aryes tracked a line of fire along the cube's hull. No noticeable damage showed, not that he expected any. Stray weapons fire glanced along the Aryes' dying shields, but nothing else. No tractor, no drone transport, nothing that would indicate that the Borg were following their usual rules of engagement. Suddenly and without warning the crashed sphere disappeared in a flash of light, taking a large chunk of the planet with it.
"Helm, pull us back from the cube put us at maximum weapons range." Ignoring the tactical officer's usual chatter he turned to McKenzie. "Ensign, cease fire unless we or the Romulans are otherwise fired upon." Returning to the front he continued, "Ops, coordinate with science and see what we can pull from that flash of light I want to know exactly what happened out there." He sat back and waited.

"Ensign, cease fire unless we or the Romulans are otherwise fired upon." He heard from the Andorian Captain
"Yes, sir" he says and stops firing the weapons since they weren't doing much damage. Why hit them when all it's gonna do is make them mad?
He watched as Inid backed them off, watching the sensors and the viewscreen
