Andy Shackleford: For the record, state name, rank and position
Lt Christienne: Ops> 1Lt Kiele Christienne
Andy Shackleford: XO>Lt Colonel Andrew Shackleford
charilegreathous: CSEC>1Lt Charlie Greathouse
Jen A Weslynes: Co> Gen J Weslynes
Fetch Storm: Tac > Lt Jg Fetch Storm To~Vensre
Andy Shackleford: General, the crew is prepared :AA::
Jen A Weslynes: We have a short crew tonight
Tarkel London: HELM> LT tarkel london
Jen A Weslynes: as I sure you all noticed however we will pick up from where we left off \
Jen A Weslynes: ****Begin sim*****
charilegreathous: ::At his station trying to figure out how to get the AT back::
Fetch Storm: ::at Tactical, checking weapons, shields and current readings::
Lt Christienne: @::Holding perfectly still:: Poisonous or not, perhaps someone might find a way to remove it before we need to develop an annti-venom?
Tarkel London: @: closing the distance slowly and calmly eyeing the spider with apprehension and inspiration considering a thousand ways out of this tituation:
charilegreathous: ::Works on finding the AT:: I hate storms
Tarkel London: -removes his overrobe and pounces the creature wiht delight wrapping it in a tangle of its own webbing and his robes holding the thingiy as it wriths angerily:
Fetch Storm: Storms are natural phenomena of weather ::he tells charlie::
charilegreathous: I still hate them ::he keeps working::
Lt Christienne: @ Be careful of that. I wouldn't be certain it can't bite through that tough skin of your's.
Andy Shackleford: ACTION: The spider squirming in the cothing spit venom and a spot burns in the cloth
Fetch Storm: ( let's not burn the uniform off.. heaven forbid )
Tarkel London: :making hard strokes att the spider with his boots and the butt of the rifle he was carrying hard holding the spider down with the other boot- damned uniform eating thing
Lt Christienne: @ ::Stepping back hurriedly out of the way of both the spider and Tarkel:: I hate to have to resort to killing it but I think I'd like less finding out what else it can do.
Lt Christienne: @i'm afraid that's never going to come out. ::Smiles::
Tarkel London: :chuckles the bloody mangled mess eating its waty thru his overrobe; how the hell am I going to explain that to supply and requisition? flipping the phaser back around and aiming it at the webbing: hey Lt ? ever see a flame thrower?
Andy Shackleford: ACTION: The consols all flicer on Pegasus
Jen A Weslynes: *****action growls are heard moving closer to the cave opening*****
Andy Shackleford: *Consoles
Fetch Storm: I'm getting power fluctuations on my control board ::he reports::
Jen A Weslynes: Whats causing it
Charilegreathous: ::Sees the consoles flicker:: Now what
Tarkel London: -twists the head off his pphaser rifle taking a knee to hurriedly construct the device he needs for the nest chunk of his adventure gmm growling not sure I like that caves echo make things sound gdigger than they are. :looking to
Andy Shackleford: Run a quick diagnositc
Lt Christienne: @well it seems there's no end to the pleasant wildlfe on this planet.I'm sure the others can't wait to get here and join in.
Tarkel London: the party: beware of anything well small and noisey: tossing his glasses in his pockeyt letting his eyes adjsut fragmenting the lens and refracting it :
Fetch Storm: Cause unknown at this time, General ::performs a diagnostic as Andy suggested::
Jen A Weslynes: Have Lt Thames look into it.
Fetch Storm: ::glance to the General:: isn't he on the Away team?
Tarkel London: my idea of a field trip let me tell you Kiele : letting her name slip thru his lips instead of her fromal ranking address : stick behind me :the phaser now wounded to the point of an arc welder casting dim lights and sparks turning
Lt Christienne: {no, I went instead}
Tarkel London: the intensity of the beam up to kill the red hot sparks now a solid refocused stream of heat and energy-
LtEthanThames has entered the room.
Fetch Storm: ( speak of the devil.. )
Lt Christienne: @ No problem, but you aren't the only one with a weapon , remember? ::Removes her own and covers him.::
Tarkel London: : burrsting the power pack thru its recharge cyclesthe tip of the rifle glowing red hot as he approaches the cave entrance the little puffs of flame settingfire to the webbing;'
Fetch Storm: ::he taps a key yo contact engineering:: Lt Thames, we are experianceing power fluctuations here on the bridge. Could you investigate the cause?
Fetch Storm: *to
Tarkel London: good thing because this one would be useless for anything but setting something on fire atthe moment as i've not brought extra frequency crystals ;almost charging in to his work with glee the face lighting up behind the fires appare
Jen A Weslynes: ****action a small furried mammal runs into the cave and past them. turning left at the back of the cave.****
Tarkel London: apparently enjoying this emensely growling wiht delight at the caves entrance to scare the hel outta whatevers running around in here :
Tarkel London: :offering a hand back to the team inthe event thier eyes are weaker than his and following the mammel surely if it could go there so could he:
LtEthanThames: +T+ Briige, you are interrupting high tea.
Fetch Storm: ::he growls slightly:: you tea can wait.
Fetch Storm: *your
Lt Christienne: @ Have you ever read the stories where someone hear's a frightening noise and finds out it's a cat? Then, no longer scared, the real monster shows up? ::Following at a distance.:: In other words are you sure we should be doing this?
LtEthanThames: And Englishman never lets tea wait mate, but I'll look at your diagnostic data if you would be so kind to send it to me drool free.
Charilegreathous: ::Shakes his head:: He needs to follow orders
Fetch Storm: ::grumbles under his breath, growling a bit more. He sends the data from Tactical, as well as from other stations::
Fetch Storm: ::he then reports to the General and Andy:: Lt Thames is having tea and does not wish to be disturbed ::has a healthy dose of sarcasm in his tone::
Andy Shackleford: +T+ Thames, if you don't get to that data ASAP, I'll make sure your tea doesn't get shipped in. Stop being a fleet brat.
LtEthanThames: +T+ I'm already looking at is sir. Just like to have a little fun with the crew sometimes, but you are interrupting high tea.
Andy Shackleford: I think you'll live.
Tarkel London: well the question is did curiousity really kill the cat.... or did satisfaction brong it back? have you ever noticed you fight braver and easier when you are unafraid ? why be afraid of the dark are not the same things there that
Tarkel London: are there during the daylight? : tracking the small mammel wiht eywes sharpened by the dark flaming away knots of brush bramble and spiderwebs stepping thru the mess on his way to the animals location making th e turn aroun the
Andy Shackleford: We'll give him a couple of extra work details if it will make you two feel better, but for all his warts Thames is a first rate engineer.
Lt Christienne: @the exception being that you are the one born and bred to it and therefore have the advantage. ::Laughs lightly::
Tarkel London: corner eyes sharpening in the dim half light:
Charilegreathous: Yes he is, Sir
Jen A Weslynes: ****action the mammal was hidden in tunnel off the side of the one they were in. It growled a menacing low snarl and then cries of younger animals were heard.*****
Fetch Storm: you humans pick the strangest times to observe your.. customs
Charilegreathous: But theirs time for acting up and this isn't it
Lt Christienne: @ Stop to listen:: It's a nest and we are apparently disturing an already irate and protective Mother.
Lt Christienne: *stops
Tarkel London: well then Kiele nature has its way of adapting to its surroundings there are waysto make your eyes stronger in the dark you simply have ot focus and cancel out all the unnatural and background lighting around you :
Tarkel London: :takes a knee to examine the nest of the obviously hacked off inhabitants the growling coming form somewhere inside there standing: as I sand nature has a way of abapting apparently this guy wwas a hair hungry
Tarkel London: should we be good stewards of nature and leave them be or should we clearthis to continue on our way? :asked wiht the barrel ofthe rifle in the opening flaringthe kill setting:
Lt Christienne: @was that a flash of lighting or were 'my' eyes playing tricks on me? This critter came in through the front but it would make sense for it to have a secondary entrance/exit.
Tarkel London: no no mistake that was indeed a falash of fire actually hmm then might i suggest we block this entrance find its back door and flush it out?
Lt Christienne: Provided we can fit through it, it might be better than waiting for this storm to clear and Peg to locate us, then again we might find another of the friendly fauna here, but as you say, no point in playing safe all the time.
Tarkel London: then a risk it is I believe if you wre to aim your rifle level 4 burst at that rock there _pointing to a sizable chunk- that would block this passage easily enough then we can circle back and inspect
Jen A Weslynes: ****action An NPC ensign from security assigned to the away team slips and sprains his ankle unable to walk unassisted*****
Lt Christienne: { Shoots him }
Lt Christienne: @::Uncertain:: I'll take your word for it but if it's blocked in aren't we as well?
Tarkel London: hmm then I say we go in there and enjoy a feats of carcass the liks of which the crows wont even get i'm starved-0flaring the gun again and entering thru the hole into the creatures den quickly;
Lt Christienne: ::Stays back as the flame flares out and back, hoping the mammal will run out and lead them toward another exit.::
Charilegreathous: I'm still getting nothing on the AT
Tarkel London: -popping the killsetting voilentlyto startle the creature faning the bflames wildly -
Jen A Weslynes: ****action as the flames shoots out the animal grabs one of its young and darts into a hole only large enough for it and returns a few minutes later to retrieve another of its young****
Tarkel London: then we block that entrance I imagine- said as the flames die down-
Lt Christienne: @::Leans down close to the hole afeter the animal has left for the second time.:: I feel airflow but I can't tell how long this burrow is.
Jen A Weslynes: *****action it returns for the 3rd of its young and nudges it a few times then screams out with hissing when it cant revive it*****
Tarkel London: hmmm intresting - stooping to chcke the passage with sharper eyes-
Tarkel London: now if this wre a verticcal hole we could very well drop something and listen for its thuds and time it as is
Lt Christienne: @::Stands and taps her comm to contact the others who waited behind.:: We're not having much luck here. There's a possible passage but it's unlikely we'll be able to use it. Any luck up front removing the slide?
Tarkel London: -lets the statement hang in the air-
Jen A Weslynes: *********last lines*********
Jen A Weslynes: ****Action the ensign who sprained his ankle and was left where he was is suddendly attacked by the animal and bitten 3 times before it ran to its young.******
Tarkel London: :presses his shoulders together and slides into the opening skillfully and stealthy as teh animal that ran thru it leaving his phaser behind in the process tryingto reach the mouth of the opening perhas it widened further up
Jen A Weslynes: *****pause sim*****
Charilegreathous: ::AA::
Lt Christienne: ::AA::
Tarkel London: ::AA::
Jen A Weslynes: Good sim everyone
Jen A Weslynes: any questions or comments?
Fetch Storm: ::AA::
Jen A Weslynes: ok then sim dismissed
