Parents: Michio and Tomoko Nitobe. Died of mysterious circumstances.
Raised by Aunt: Momoko Musashi, wife of Miyamoto Musashi, Master Samurai and instructor.
Grew up studying at local school in Okinawa and was trained by his uncle from a very early age.
At 18, became Sol Sector Martial arts freestyle Champion.
At 21, Became Imperial Champion.
Asked to join The Imperial Fleet. Enrolled In the technical academy and began training for starship duty.
Was engaged to be married to Hosachi Sakura. On his first offworld mission as an ensign on the ISS Dragonblood, Hosachi was brutally murdered. Asano found her disembodied upon his return. The case to this day is not concluded. The assailants never found. There are theories for the murder, but no one in either family will speak of it.
Nitobe took the rest of his shore leave seeking out another trainer. He took a 1 yr liberty to study the dark arts. He then returned to imperial fleet.
Served as TAC officer on the USS Dragonblood, Nitobe showed his skills and was one of the best gunners in the fleet as well as a fine marksman. He served on The Dragonblood until he became a full Lt.
Was reassigned to USS Incisor. Serving as Operations and Assistant engineer until selected for the crew of the new Sentinel class Defiant-A.
Highest hand -to-hand combat rating available.
Master marksman
Expert with a variety of bladed weapons.
One eye witness claims to have seen him "Disappear" in a cloud of smoke. No such thing had ever been proven. Flight recorders unable to determine the incident.
Personality.
Generally serious and sticks to business at hand. Socializes little if at all.
