Sinopa walked into the holodeck and changed then grabbed a bear skin to put around him. He went to the river and joined the men as they began to bathe. The first plunge was the hardest and woke you up immediately. Using the sand from the river bottom he rubbed on it on his skin, removing any skin oil and debris.
He joked with the other men and they discussed the upcoming hunt. A few teased him saying if he did not act soon another may steal Oota. He laughed at that. He was not worried about that he was worried what the Terran Empire would do.
After fully washing he got out of the cold water, dried himself off, then wrapping himself in the bear skin he walked back. Once he reached her tipis he smiled at her entering it he started to talk to her father.

Smiling as she saw Sinopa."He will talk with my father and the other men in the group as we prepare breakfast."Reaching over to a large leather pouch she pulled out some ground squirrel meat and tossed it into the clay pot.
"Tracy beside you should be another leather pouch.Inside there will be some dried nuts and bitter berries could you hand that to me?"

She nodded in response to Oota's comment, as she watched her get a large leather pouch and pulled out some ground squirrel meat and tossed it into the clay pot.
Tracy reached for the leather pouch beside her and handed it to Oota "Here you go" she says as she watches them cook

Opening the pouch she showed Tracy the nuts and dried bitter berries."These we use to season the stew while the fat on the ground squirrel well thicken it."
Picking up a few large roots,"These are camas roots they have a slight sweet taste and go very well with stews.First we wash them off like so and peel them."
Taking her knife she began to peel the thick bark like skin.Handing her one."Now you peel that one.Once peeled we cut them up in small chunks like so.Once they are all peeled and cut we put them in the stew."
Handing her a large wooden sthingy."Go ahead and start to stir it if we do not it can burn on the bottom and stick.If that happens our breakfast is ruined."

He stood walking out he heard the voice of a childhood friend Koko. He stood there talking to him, and watching Oota as she taught Tracy and make breakfast. Koko pushed him and then run come Sinopa race me to the river and back.
Sinopa walked over to Koko, "I will race you, but you will lose as you always have my friend. Oota call the start to this race."
The men from the tipi came out, then from 2 other tipis come out, to watch each ready to cheer on the one they favored.

Hearing the men getting louder she stopped for a moment.Looking she saw Koko challenge Sinopa to a race.She smiled knowing how fast Sinopa was when he tried.
"Ready Go!" She watched as the two took off heading for the river."See Tracy even in play such challenges keep us fit and healthy."Still smiling as she watched Sinopa run.

She started to peel the thick bark then cuts them up and places them in the stew, when she is done she stirs the stew
She hears the men getting louder and she stops for moment as she watches the race, "I see this is very interesting, who is Koko?" she asks as she stirs the stew

Sinopa quickly took the lead as he always did since childhood. Sinopa thought he might let his old friend win this time. Since Koko was interested in Peta and she was watching them.
Sinopa slowed slightly when Koko caught up he let him pass. Then he knew this was wrong. Peta would find him attractive or not no matter the outcome of this race. Within a few yards Sinopa caught up and passed him.

As she was watching the race she noticed Sinopa had slowed his pace.A worried frown crossed her face thinking at first he had injured himself.The frown quickly faded as she noticed him picking the pace back up and passing Koko.

She nodded to Oota as she said Sinopa and Koko were childhood friends, she then watched the race and saw Oota frown when Sinopa slowed, not a mad frown but a worried one, it quickly faded when Sinopa took the lead back.
Looking back Oota "Why did he slow down on purposes?" This confused her, she would never slow down, in a race

They reached the river and Sinopa slowed down he was considering throwing Koko into the river. He started laughing so hard he held his side, that was when Koko took the lead.
In the few seconds it took for the pain to leave his side Koko gained the lead. Sinopa went back into a full run, this was the first time Koko and him had a tie race. They were catching their breaths when Peta walked over and whispered something to Koko, then walked off to her families fire.
He started laughing and started to tease his old friend.

As she watched them race she saw Sinopa stop at the river and begin laughing.Smiling she knew he was just having fun.It took him a few seconds to stop and begin running full speed.Finally the race ended in a tie.She tilted her head when she saw Peta come over to Koko and whisper in his ear.
A sly smile crossed her face as Sinopa began teasing Koko.Standing up,"I will be right back Tracy just stir the stew its almost done."Walking over to Sinopa she whispered in his ear."My dear Sinopa I do not know what you had planned but I am glad you finally did your best Koko would not have it any other way."
Keeping her sly smile she touched his arm gently and walked back to Tracy."I know Sinopa his laughing at the river in the middle of the race meant he was thinking of doing something mischievous.Unlike many of the people I have met on the Defiant having fun and enjoying life is very important to us."
Taking over stirring the stew,"Honor,duty,and hard work are also very important but when the chance comes to relax and just enjoy the little things we take full advantage of it."

She was watching them race, the saw Sinopa laughing, and wonder what it was about, she nodded to Oota when she said stir the stew, and she walked over to Sinopa.
She was stirring the stew when Oota came back, and took over stirring the stew, she looked at her as she explained what Sinpoa had done and how having fun was part of their life.
