He entered his access code to his office. When he entered there was a small room with a desk, it was very sterile looking. His spirit was not happy here. Sinopa would need to make a few changes. Here is where they came to talk about those things which upset, cause unease, or simply needed a firm guiding hand. But where he would tend to those unfortunate enough to see his other side would be greeted with a less pleasing sight.
He entered his office door and felt the cold heart of the Imperial Universe. Posed to strike anyone who dared to show resistance, or as he saw it individuality. He knew what he would bring here to this space. The cold heart needed to be warmed to do its job here.
He sat at the desk, he knew he would need security or the CO to allow him access to the crew records so to try and do that is a waste of time. Time is something not to be wasted cause in that wasted space, death stalked to catch those unguarded. He held a lot of knowledge, not just what was taken from a book, but from the wisdom of generations past, and of nature itself.
He entered his access code into the terminal and checked to see what he could access. Which was very little and of no value to him. Sinopa turned the terminal off, then took out his flute and played it for a time, he returned the flute to its pouch leaving the cold heart that was his office behind. His spirit now calmed and restful he left this office heading for sickbay.

After the opening ceremonies for the launch of this ship he returned to his office. He wanted to be what he called the cold heart, he would make sure he could match wits if needed with the one who commanded this ship, in an hour. He sat there and make notes of various things he saw and heard on the bridge.
The time passed swiftly as it does when your busy. The computer beeped to remind him he needed to make his way to the Captains office. He stood stretching and inhaling deeply the coldness and sterility of his office. Sinopa walked out standing tall as he saw instructed as a child. "Sinopa walk tall always, let no man know your inner being is not sure of its place. Remember always who you are, the first nation, the first tribe, the first man."
That was an understatement. He wasn't sure of much expect his anger and resentment over what he found on Terra Prime. Leaving his office he went to the TL and made his way to the Captains office.

Exiting the TL she walked over to the Counselor's office. She knew it would never be used for the crew to relay their feelings to a stranger. That information could be used against them.
She shook her head at their complete inability of the concept of group honor.Individualism was rampant in the fleet and she knew it.Any means to advance no matter what was the unspoken rule.
She cleared her head and rang the door alert hoping she would find Sinopa inside.

He heard the chime, he looked at the moniter, a smile crossing his face. This was the woman who he loved and had all his life. He spoke to her father and it was agreed they would marry, after he paid the dowery. She was worth the 3 horses, the bow he hand made, and a spear.
He reached the door, smiling at her. "Oota, it is good to see you. Come inside, walk back to the office." He walked behind her, watching her as she walked. It was one of the few pleasant sights he'd seen since entering the ship. He showed her a chair, kissing her lightly on her neck he sat at the chair behind hid desk.
"Oota your as lovely as always but what has brought y0u to this place? And why do you wear thier uniform?"

Smiling warmly and arching her neck as he kissed it.She took a seat facing him."It is good to see you Sinopa it has been to long to see the handsome man who's eyes always stared beyond our world.
"I heard you were on the Defiant and asked to be transfered here and the spirits granted my wish.I know it is very strange to see me in this uniform. To be truthful I feel strange wearing it."
'When you were gone Imperial Recruiters came to our world then to our village and implied that our people needed to volunteer warriors for the Empire to work aboard the Star Ships."
Her face frowned as she spoke."You and I both know the implications of volunteers to the Empire. Most of the men as you know are married and have children.I could not just sit there and allow such a thing so I volunteered myself."
"At first my Father protested fiercely. He did not want his only daughter out in space. My brother had just gotten married and I could not take the chance of him being recruited."
"I took my decision to the counsel of elders and after many hours I convinced them I would be a good choice to volunteer.Once I signed up the Empire put me in the marine Academy assuming that all our people were warriors."
"As you know I always loved taking on the young males in our tribe and wrestled them and I was as good as any warrior at hunting so their marine Academy was no problem to pass."
Placing her hand gently on his cheek."Do not worry Sinopa though I may wear the uniform I still follow the path of our people and my heart.I have no love for the Empire or the way they act.I am just glad I got on the Defiant with you."
She managed to smile she knew it was a difficult path she had chosen for herself but Sinopa being here made things much more tolerable.

"I wonder if you know just how difficult this decision will be. They are not like us or what we believed them to be like. Unless Kirk was the unusual one, and I doubt that."
"I will stand by you but we must be careful. Do not trust anyone, they stand alone, wrapped in a cocoon of self interest and ambition. I would not be surprised if they would sell another to advance."
He stood and walked over to her, taking her hand he kissed the palm gently and then with his thumb he absently massaged the back of her hand.
"You hold rank and I don't. We will need to be cautious since they have a rule, unwritten on such matters. We should not be seeing each other."

She listened as his tone became more somber."Yes I too have witnessed such blind ambition. They scramble like vultures over a carcass picking at the scraps."
"I promise to be careful Sinopa I will always be on my guard. If cornered remember I know how to fight but I will do everything I can to keep from that happening."
Smiling as he kissed her palm then began caressing it with his thumb."I did not know they had such strange and senseless rules.I will keep that in mind.I always have the right to see the counselor however."
Leaning forward and gently kissing his forehead."If you keep massaging my hand my dear Sinopa I will never leave your office."A smile on her face as she spoke.

He laughed for the first time since entering the ship. She was always able to lighten his mood and raise his spirits. He took her in his arms and held her. Smelling her hair he held her tighter. After a minute he let go.
"Oota, on one hand it is good to have you here but..." he sighed deeply "that rule about rank. To have you so near and so far." He led her to the door, "It is not good if you are here to long. I will try to see you later."

Smiling deeply as he laughed she greatly enjoyed his embrace. She quickly sobered up by his next words. She nodded as he led her out.Her heart torn because they were so close but yet so far away just as Sinopa had said.
Once out of his office she checked her uniform and put on her serious somber face and went to the TL heading back for the Infantry deck and check up on their drills.

He watched as she left. Sighing deeply he returned to his desk to continue with his work and studies. His incentive to comply with the rank seeking was increased now that she was here. But he would not stoop down to a level of treachery and back stabbing. He wanted to be with her but honorable, since he knew she would have it no other way.

Carrying two PADDs she had on two of the NCO's.They were acting strangely even for this ship. She had taken them off duty but needed Sinopa to sign off on them to make it last more than a couple of days.
Inwardly she wanted to see Sinopa as well so she rang the chime and waited.

He heard the chime, he looked at the moniter to see who it was. Seeing it was Oota he smiled and told her to come in.
He took the padds and started to read them. "When did this begin?" Few on the ship saw him smile none at this time was worth it to him.

"They have not been sleeping more than a couple of hours a day and have been either highly anxious and aggressive or very lethargic since I have been on the ship.
"I looked to see if this went back before I came.I could find nothing but a private Morgan said she had noticed the strange behavior since the ship was first attacked."
Sinopa I know you well if anyone can help these men it would be you.I have not reported this to the Doctor. His eyes show no compassion it as if he does not care about the crew at all and their is a cruelness in them as well."
As she was talking she leaned into his back wrapping her arms around him and squeezing just hard enough to feel his warmth and his heart beat.

She leaves her quarters and walks to the counselors office, she found him quite attractive and talking about securing the prisoners was a way to see him.
Arriving she rang the chimes, and waited
