The Defiant sent back an acknowledged signal by that time she was already lined up to the hanger bay and was ready to land. She set her ship down with style and grace, she could see the her old second in command was not happy to see her. Oh well he will have to get over it she powered down her fighter and made her way to the pilots locker room.
As soon as she was showered and changed into a fresh uniform she made her way to the bridge to check in with the Captain.

So Kaine was back. Sloan watched her saunter onto the bridge. She looked good. That was one thing about pilots, they generally kept themselves in fighting trim. He mentally ran a hand along her curves.
He could see that Kaine was headed for the Captain's ready room. He hadn't called her in or at least, Sloan mused, not "officially". He stood and crossing the bridge, smoothly intercepted her.
"Marine Captain." The corner of his mouth raised slightly along with an eyebrow and he gave her a brief inclination of his head. " I assume you're reporting in? Protocol and all that?" He crossed his arms over his chest. "Proper protocol means following your chain of command. The executive officer is ultimately in charge of personnel, not the Captain."

It was a brilliant little program the Tactician had devised. A short burst of energy that would show up on a ship's sensors and then disappear. A perfect diversion. While your enemy was concerned about the phantom, they would concentrate on the defensive rather than offensive (or the reverse) and Kaine was currently showing off precisely how effective this could be.
Dominique entered a new set of coordinates and tapped the control to engage.
